Fabricator
The discovery of the energy capacitor crystal in the alpha-1 ruins this year has been a boon for your industrial capacity and the moral of your citizens. You decide to mark the discovery of this technology and declared an official day of celebration for the planet. Every year from know on there will be a holyday called the day of discovery where all workers no matter their rank will be granted rest in celebration of their achievements.
[x] Techpriest education and apprenticeship program: The creation of the next generation of techpriests is a vital part of any forge world. Currently your world lacks any form education program and you aren't going to carry on the normal mechanicus traditions now that you have your own world. Creating a new system would be a multi-year endeavor but a well worth one.
Cost: 300,000 metal, 50,000 promethium
Upkeep: 1,000 alloys yearly, 20 techpriest
Time: 2 years
Reward: +100 techpriests per year
1 of 2 years complete

Normally on mechanicus worlds techpriests are allowed to take on apprentices as they wish but you have always felt that this system was lacking in some form. Your sect also believes the same as you. One of the terminalis sects founding principles being that the larger the population of techpriests the less like the loss of knowledge is. However, changing the system over night will be impossible as entrenched traditions are hard to uproot. You decide instead of radical change to change the direction of this metaphorical ship step by step. In order to do this you enacted a law requiring all techpriests on your world to have at least two apprentices at all times.

[x] Strip mine small:

Magos Biologis
Thia kal concluded most of her outstanding projects this year and is pouring most of her newly freed up time into customization of her forge temple. In other news when she was notified of the discovery on solum 2 this year she immediately flooded you with expedition request forms.
[x] Examine creature (Lacertia Speculumi)
Time 3 years
Cost -10,000 metal, -10 techpriests until completed
Chance of failure 25%
Reward: tech guard armor upgrade project
3 of 3 years complete

Thia's research into the mirror lizards revealed that their keratin scales are actually made from thousands of micro crystals. These crystals geometric structures grant them the ability to absorb large amounts of thermal and kinetic energy. When the Thia presented the results to dominus Isas he stated that such a material could easily be mass produced and utilized to upgrade the techguards armor.

[x] Examine creature (Gelu Lupus)
Time 3 years
Cost -10,000 metal, -10 techpriests until completed
Chance of failure 25%
Reward: Ore purification enzyme upgrade project
3 of 3 years complete

Thia's research into the frost wolfs revealed that they use a specialized enzyme to break down minerals for their diet. Thia believes that you could easily retrofit your forges to utilize this enzyme to break down ores and increase their alloy production rate.

[x] Build Biologis Forge Temple to the Omnissiah: Thia tells you that while she could build a basic lab in just about any building if you want proper results, she will need a forge temple specially designed for the needs of a Magos Biologis.
Time 2 years
Cost -1,000 alloys, 200,000 metal
Upkeep -10 techpriests, -5,000 electricity
Reward +1 to all research rolls
1 of 2 years complete

Thia has taken a personal interest in the construction of her forge temple stating to you that the normal facilities would be most insufficient in handling the planets wildlife.

Explorator
Umala is deeply satisfied with her discovery of the energy crystal this year. The discovery has even affected her personality as unlike before she seems happy to be stationed on this planet.
[x] Survey continent 1 of 8
Cost: 1,000,000
Time:3
Upkeep: 10 techpriests
Reward: all archaeological sites identified
1 of 3 years complete

Umala begun surveying one of the planets eight continents this year. With the help from the ships in orbit she has identified many areas of interest however she still has to comb through the data to separate the false positives from actual ruins.

[x] Examine ruins Alpha-1: See alpha-1 ruins exploration
Cost:200,000
Time: 2 years
Upkeep: 10 Techpriests
Reward: Energy capacitor crystal research project, +125,000 energy, advanced anti personal turrets.
2 of 2 years complete

[x] Examine ruins Alpha-3: Alpha -3 appears to be the foundations of a massive structure kilometers wide. Umala reports that this will be a lengthy project as she has never seen a structure like this.
Cost: 200,000
Time: 5 years
Upkeep: 10 Techpriests
Reward: Unknown
3 of 5 years complete

Umala came across light resistance this year from the wildlife when investigating the. However, she overcame this challenge and tells you that what ever this structure is its it extends deep into the planets crust.

Magos Veneratus (Navy)
You and Simil left together for the sector capital of Cuprum this year on a trade mission. However, before leaving Simil left instruction with his staff to begin the prosses of surveying the system.
[x] Survey planet: solum 1
Solum 1 can only be described as ferrous world. Its atmosphere is made up of a chemical cocktail of gases what would liquify flesh in a matter of minutes, but its surface is the real price. The planet crust is rich in metals and more importantly natural adamantium deposits.

[x] Survey planet: solum 2
In comparison to solum 1 solum 2 is positively boring. It is the typical barren world, but it does have one differentiating quality. On its southern continent there are fields of natural promethium geysers. When Thia kal received this report, she became ecstatic as she has long held the theory that given the right conditions some forms of life can produce promethium. Given the likelihood of this discovery she has requested an expedition to the planet at once to search for these organisms.

[x] Trade with Cuprum: Cuprum is the only source of commerce in the entire sector. You could send a ship to buy and sell resources.

See Cuprum trading interlude

Magos Dominus (Military)
The dominus informs you that he is actually having fun living on this planet and dealing with the challenges it provides. The discovery of the advanced anti personal turrets has also set his imagination on fire. However, he will need a forge temple to make his designs reality.
[x] Training fields: Isas believes that the current standard training facilities on bases are of inadequate design. He wishes to spend some time creating a training course that will create a more disciplined and capable tech guard.
Cost: 750,000 metal
Time 3 years
Upkeep: -300,000 metal
Reward +1 to combat rolls
2 out of 3 years complete

Isas reports that the training fields are nearly complete and that most of what's left to do is work out unforeseen flaws.

[x] Militia doctrine: Isas tells you that he could easily use the doctrines followed by the rest of the imperium, but he can do better. He says that given the opportunity he would tear apart and rebuild the handbook from the ground up.
Cost: 50 techpriests
Time: 2 years
Reward: Militia training and fighting doctrine increasing combat rolls
2 out of 2 years complete

This year Isas completed his militia doctrine. He tells you that now instead of disorganized mass of men your militia has a proper command structure and should abled to hold against most challenges that the planets wildlife can throw at you.

[x] Create Tech Guard (infantry 1 regiment)
Cost: 10,000 alloys, 1,000,000 metal
Time: 3 years
Upkeep: 20,000 menials, 200,000 promethium, 5,000 alloys
Reward: 1 regiment of tech guard
1 of 3 years complete

This year Isas begun the training of your first techguard regiment. He is taking advantage of this event to further refine the design for his improved training fields.

So the alpha-3 ruins is clearly a mega structure of some form. From the context clues that we where provided when we discovered the power crystal and what we know so far of this structure this must be an industrial project of some form.

Cuprum trade part 1
You are fabricator Almiz and you stand on the bridge of your destroyer as it exits the warp. The cuprum system is the sector capital and the only hive world in the whole of the fledgling sector but with a population of 18 billion it has just barely earned the moniker. Admiral Simil Arckturas approaches you and begins to speak.

Fabricator we have contacted the planetary government and we are awaiting reply with instructions. We have also performed an analysis of system traffic and naval presence. Our scans show a few minor traders in orbit of cuprum but mor interestingly the presence of a rogue trader cruiser.

As for cuprums planetary defenses there are none, but it does possess a small but respectable fleet. It consists of two cruisers and dozen destroyers.

Just as the magos veneratus finishes his report the planetary government sends their reply along with instructions on where to meet. You thank the magos and leave for a drop ship. After short dropship journey to the planet you arrive above the hive city of Redous.

On a landing pad protruding from the side of the governors spire you are meat by a group of people dressed in vibrant colors but the person at their center is the only one to have gold interwoven into there attire. You approach the golden individual who is the obvious planetary governor and bow your head in greeting.

"Ah greeting's we were not expecting you our mechanicus brethren" you hear said in a loud almost shrill tone.

"Hello governor I am fabricator Almiz we have come here hoping to perform the first trade in what is sure to be the first trade in a long and fruitful relationship".

"I am lord governor Von Stice welcome to my dominion now do come inside".

You are led through lavishly decorated halls and eventually you reach a grand audience hall. In the far end of the room is a slightly elevated great table made from a golden wood. With a great chair made from the same wood. The governor promptly shits into said chair and begins to speak.

"My dear meachicus guests while your visit is most unexpected you are welcome to stay and enjoy all that my world has to offer. However, before we begin our business, I must ask of you a question".

"Please ask Lord governor and we will do our best to answer" you reply.

"Well you see Magos Fabricator my records show that your world was a failed imperial colony since when have the mechanicus claimed this world as their own".

"Lord governor I am saddened to hear that the admistratum has committed such an oversight and failed to notify you of the systems ownership transfer" your reply in your best courtly manners however meager they might be.

But you don't stop speaking here as you want to expedite this interaction and leave the presence of this shrill man.

"lord governor the mechanicus has tasked me with establishing a forgeworld in your sector. We have only been inhabiting the world a few years, but we have already made great strides in our settlement".

"I see" reply's the governor.

"well thank you for the update I will have to speak to my administratum clerks about their failure to notify me but let's do get on to business so we can begin to enjoy ourselves".

Trade:
You have brought with you 5,000,000 thrones below are listed the prices for what the governor is willing to sell you. You can buy as much as you want until you run out of cash. The same prices apply if you are selling to him.

Menials:1,000,000 thrones per hundred thousand (Significantly above what would be considered market value).

Food: 25,000 thrones for every 10,000 food

Promethium: 25,000 thrones per hundred thousand

Alloys: 500,000 thrones per hundred thousand

that shit is gonna allow us open new transhuman engineering options

we should try investing on the womb vitae next turn

that shit is gonna allow us open new transhuman engineering options

While you are allowed to do transhumanism you haven't progressed down the tech tree enough. At this point in time the most you would be able to do is the increase the birth rate. You also have to remember the ever watchful eye of the inquisition

Cuprum Trade Part 2
Winning vote:
[x] plan all the alloys
Total purchase = 1,000,000 alloys

You conclude your trade with the governor of Cuprum buy buying all the alloys you could afford which turns out to be everything that wasn't nailed down. You find out latter that the governor went to the extreme lengths of canceling some of his own construction projects just to fulfill your other. His actions are likely to anger large segments of Cuprum's populous as some of those projects where crucial to the welfare. The plight of the population did not bother the governor as you were informed, he used his proceeds from the trade to adorn the entrance to the governor's place with gold.

But before you left the planet you took the governors offer to relax and enjoy the planets amenities. While you had other intentions, you stayed mostly because the idea of going without the stress of living on a world where going outdoors is often more dangerous than traversing the most polluted of ashwastes on any hive world was highly appealing.

What will you do with your time?

[X] investigate rouge trader

traders job is to get shinies, lets see what they got on juicy tech for us

btw,i found an interesting topic

ETC,ignition for guns

ETC are an evolution of ballistics, still use gunpowder propellants but are incredibly more efficient at igniting it,causing a more even and explosive burn up,causing a major increase of pressure in less time, and therefore causing an increased projectile speed and increased rate of fire

ETC igniters for all stubguns, tanks and bolters

cheap to make,is an evolution of ballistics instead of a huge change (reducing the mechanicus answer to ''innovation'' ) and it ca be retrofited in almost all primitive ballistics

I would make it a research reward if you propose it via an omake. The Mechanicus techpriests on your planet may be willing to bend the rules but we aren't at open R&D levels openness yet so the tech would have to be discovered somehow.

[X] Investigate local Mechanicus

Rogue traders are nice and all but seeing as we will probably deal with Cuprum more in the future, I believe assessing what the admech here are like is more beneficial in the long run as they can give future allies or we at least know if they are would be unfriendly

while talking to the local admech is important we really are in no position to talk to them right now. At some point we will want to assert our dominance over them as the local forgeworld has rights to but if we try to impose ourselfs now we would probably laugh out of the room.

Cuprum Trade Part 3
It dint take you long to secure a meeting with the rouge trader as it turned out that he was also looking for you. Your meeting was arranged to take place aboard your ship by the trader's own request which you guessed was likely an attempt to ingratiate himself with you.

A day after you made contact you watched as a lavishly decorated shuttle craft touched down on the hanger of your destroyer. You stood alone in the hangar as Rouge trader Flamidious Ikenstock steeped out from his shuttle craft flanked by a single assistant.

The trader walks up to you and perform's a short bow and begins to speak to you even before his back has returned to its normal angle.

Trader: Fabricator Almiz I am glad to make your acquaintance, but I must ask that we continue our introductions in a more privet setting.

You: Off curse anything to accommodate my new guests you reply but hidden in the trader's subtext was the obvious implications that what you two where going to discus was more complex than a mere trade deal.

You sit in what would normally be the captains chair it is made from what you figure to be fine wood from some far-flung world. Now in a meeting room normally reserved for the ship's captain the rogue trader sees fit to drop the overly formal tone. The trader begins speaking while at the same time taking off his sword belt and hands it to his assistant. (imagine as Spanish navy captain from the 1600s).

Trader: Fabricator I must confess I was surprised when my trading partners informed me your ship was from a forge world and not from explorator fleet supra.

You: I must admit I was not told of any explorator fleet in this sector.

Trader: Oh, I'm not surprised you haven't heard of them. You see they have been sent out from mars in search of some long-lost world who's coordinates where found in some terminal deep in depths of mars. Supposedly on that world there's some key component to a weapon system your mechanicus brethren on mars are working on for Gulliman.

You: That is some useful information as to what is in my future but what does this fleet have to do with you and me.

Trader: When your ship exited the warp I had hoped you were some envoy from the fleet that I could sell my cargo and services too but I would not be a good rouge trader if couldn't turn unexpected circumstances into new opportunities.

You: some what might that deal be rouge trader?

Trader: well fabricator this is virgin sector with almost no worlds for you to sell your product too and I have empty cargo hulls. I think you can put the pieces together from there.

You: However, intrigued I may be by your deal I doubt that you would have requested such a privet setting if this was the only thing you wanted to discuss.

Trader: I see you are perceptive its most likely why you are in charge of a forge world when many others aren't. Well fabricator in my travels i have made friends and with a explorator fleet full techpriests investing every rock in the sector it just happens to be that one of my friends needs a place to hide. Also, this friend would feel right at home among your people. Of course, I realize that you can't grant my request without some thought but perhaps the knowledge that his stay comes along with a handsome payment might push you in the right direction. I will await your response on my ship.

At this point he gets up to leave and you are left to consider this deal.

With this choice I'm introducing the mars attention meter. At 0 mars doesn't even know you exists. At 10 you are going to get exterminatused.
(no matter what you choose the rouge traders ship will occasionally show up at your world to buy things from you)
[] yes grant the traders "friend" a safe haven. (unknown reaction from mars and a large throne payment for your silence).
[] no you don't want the attention the individual brings (mars attention meter stays at 0).

Btw,if our planet ever gets infected with orkz we should be able to turn them into servitors

The traders friend is clearly a tchpriest that comited some form of tech heresy and i want the shinnies but what is the price we are willing to pay i dont want an inquisitor looking at us any time soon.
