Information: Final vote tally and subsequent action
final vote tally and subsequent action @Council,

I'd like to thank you for your contributions to this Tribunal. With the discussion and voting period over and sixteen (16) of the Council registering a vote, the vote is Split on this infraction.

The votes were as follows:
(8) - Overturn
(6) - Uphold, but reduce to 0 points
(2) - Uphold

By my reading of this result, the Council appears to be evenly split between whether the Appellant's post was, in fact, a violation of the rules of Sufficient Velocity at all. A 0-point reduction would, at first glance, appear to be an even middle ground between a full Uphold and a full Overturn. However, as noted in previous Tribunals, an "Uphold but reduce to 0-points" is still an Uphold and, as such, indicates an agreement that the rules were indeed broken and is still considered an infraction. A full Overturn, conversely, says that no rules were broken and no infraction at all is appropriate. Neither camp has a clear majority and it would be inappropriate to issue action as though they have. As such, and with an aim of hewing towards our policy of the least onerous outcome for the Appellant when there is an unclear voting outcome, this infraction will be Overturned and replaced with a Staff Notice.

Per standard Tribunal procedure, we will now have two (2) days for any relevant discussion (policy, Tribunal, or otherwise) to brought up by the Directors or Administrators for consideration. At the end of this period, this Tribunal will be published per usual.

Thank you.
