Among some things, he has so far fought a bandit couple, who employed a talking cat as a henchman, got captured and released by a sage named after a tree, who thought he was a girl and finally talked to a quite tall samurai with a youthful face, that wore a very long coat. Honestly quite hilariously of all the factions I think the Monks and Pirates are probably the most egalitarian and kind to the common man.
Little wonder that they are the most demonized (apart from the poor "Savage" Ainu).

We act as piratas in terms of respecting common sailors but our leader is still the lord of his Samurai Clan. Clearly we have achieved enlightenment.

That includes the peasants who lay directly under Oda control. I can't stop the samurai lords from taxing their own, its their right, but were feeling generous so tax cut to everyone who is directly a Oda vassal.
