The Storm over Monarch (AKA The First Battle of Olympus/ Mirai Fisher’s Wild Ride)
The Storm over Monarch (AKA The First Battle of Olympus/ Mirai Fisher's Wild Ride)

TESLA MUTINY SUBFACTION SHEET:
The MSI 1st Fleet

Ideology: Anti-Corporate Military Fleet (Controlled Democracy)

Power Scale: Nomadic Warfleet (Code Name "Void Sunrise")

Number of Ships: 179 Combat worthy Vessels and Support ships)

Leader: Admiral Mirai Fisher

Positive Traits:

The Knight of the Triumvirate of Monarch: Admiral Mirai Fisher was The Knight, the one who chose the Military Path in the Corporate World, from a Security Officer first class to Admiral within fifteen years at the age of 36, she has a reputation as an honest, stern and well-meaning commander of her ships and seeing action in the Gorgan Pirate Insurrection and Organizing The Halcyon Relief of the Corporation of Shadow, Her Career is nothing short of exemplary for a backwater Space Officer. Now all her Skills must be put to the Test in order to keep the Monarch Rebellion Alive, even if it's no longer on Monarch.

Her Squadron contains x 8 Corvettes, 12 Cutters, 2 Support Galleys, and 26 Space Scout Fighters

Flagship: The Shimmering Sunrise, A MSI Corvette.

The Jack Be-Lucky and Its Squadron: Captain Friedrich Song had been a Navy man for the Corporations for over 25 years, He wasn't an admiral due to politics, a slight that makes working with Mirai difficult, being a professional he holds his tongue while on duty. Another veteran of various Pirate raids into Halcyon Proper, he is experienced but lacking in imagination when it comes to tactical strategy… which explains why he hasn't been promoted to Admiral.

His Squadron Contains: x7 Corvettes, 30 Patrol Craft, and 15 Space Scout Fighters

Flagship: Jack Be-Lucky, A MSI Communications Corvette.

The MtStrider and its Squadron: Transporting people and Transporting Equipment, especially military equipment is an unsung skill, Captain Bien Harlow has spent perfecting, from cargo hauler to logistician, he did his work and became a captain…noting a pattern of decay within Halcyon's Supply Chain, tethered his life to an Admiral as young as he is…most followers are drawn to powerful personalities.

His Squadron contains, X12 Combat Troop Transports, 22 Supply Haul Freighters, 32 Starhaulers, 13 Patrol Escort Craft

Flagship: MtStrider.

The School of Carlile and the Memories of the Ninth Corporate War: Every Fleet in Halcyon, from the lowest corporate fleet of tugs to the Earth Directorate Defence forces, has been rigorously trained and tested by the Fleet Reforms of Vice Admiral John Carlile (Formerly of the ED and Rebel Navies), he has given a measure of professionalism, and ability to all but the lowest Fleet officer…And your time in his classes, learning his skills is all but invaluable. (All Fleet Rolls gain a +2 to combat actions and lower the chance of Mutiny, Ships last longer without repair and lose morale less quickly.)

THE STATELESS DIRECTORY!: This military is unmoored from any one state, and is no longer commanded by an unknown presence light years away. Instead, the soldiers follow commanders who live beside them. Every soldier personally knows that man commanding them, and they have always been far more driven by the desire to protect their fellow brothers in arms, rather than just the interest of some far-off businessmen. (Start Ideology at Nomadic, Can join other factions that fit character mindset and lack a base of supply)

Earth Directory Marines: Some of the most experienced soldiers from the earth, these soldiers have spent decades fighting similar rebellions. Now that they find themselves on the other side, they will make sure all your forces know the best tricks and tactics to use to fight against the Board with. (Start with ⅗ to 5/5 quality soldiers, Veterans of the Many Corporate Wars)

Soldiers of Halcyon UNIT: Some of the units that have mutinied with you are the elites of the Halcyon military. They have a deep understanding of how the Halcyon military works. Moreover, their access codes work, which means you should have access to Halcyon military communications for a short period of time. Furthermore, these troops have been equipped with some of the best equipment in Halcyon and will have a distinct advantage in equipment over most opponents. (For Two Turns have a Full ability to raid and enter Halcyon Hard sites without facing a major malus, Have a Rumor Mill for Two turns)

Negative Traits:

Stateless: The army does not have a base or production center it is operating. It will have to rely on trading and raiding in order to get the resources it needs until it is able to establish a base of some sort.(Start Ideology at Nomadic, Can join other factions that fit character mindset and lack a base of supply)

Carry all YOU HAVE!: The tesla mutiny has very few resources, and many of their soldiers were only able to carry a limited amount of resources when they mutinied. The soldiers have limited food, ammunition, and resources, and will need to gather more somehow.(AP is limited and finite, ration what you can)

Running out of Time, Running out of Power: Mutanies and in many cases Anti-Corporate Rebellion. Run-on the Threat of Violence and the projection of power, these things are not infinite or sustainable, especially in an area owned and Operated by the Corporations as a whole that has the system on lockdown.

You can't rely on support if they don't trust you can bring results. It's a balancing act of actually strategic skill and management. The Corp made sure the People you are trying to save have short memories.

Good Luck Commander. (If a base and Supply cannot be secured in three turns the Rebellion will fizzle out and collapse into mutiny or abandon the cause)

Memories of Red Olympus: The Red Olympus Incident is a Stain upon Halcyon's Military Record, with the loss of 62% of forces following a massive pitched battle between the Pirate King of the Belter HighHold (A Region of the Outer Astroid Belt in Halcyon) has given the Military minds a Conserve everything mindset...even at the cost of victory...and with what your father said it was a difficult habit to overcome for many while fighting on Shadow. (Halcyon Fleets Prioritize Survival over Victory in many cases when fighting, sometimes your forces will ask to hold off forces even if their is a tactical advantage to exploit.)

Amber Heights was Burning…Dear God Amber Heights was burning!

What had been nothing more than a routine patrol vector to give space for whatever bullheaded plan that Bryant cooked up and let Sanjar handle all the details of the transfer of power.

And for five minutes you almost thought it would work.

Yet the damned pirate played fire hazard and brought the whole damn board fleet upon us all.

That was when the Orbital Bombardment started…oh god…they shot at everyone…the damned pirate bombed Amber Heights to Ruin.

CALM DOWN MIRAI!: D100 => 97

You wanted to rage and scream as you heard the screams of the dying across every communication frequency and broadband that you could think of.

That damned pirate is mocking you…trying to make you angry, well you'd show them all what you'd do. You thought as you called your captains.

"All Forces get into Combat and Menuvere Position 3, we are going to cut them off and capture or kill, Terra 1 has been compromised and our Corporate Leadership In Flux, Ordering Protocol Article 7 of the-" You stopped for a moment and looked at the sticky note on your chair…that silly little name you helped Sanjar and Graham pick out to make it all official.

"Monarch Stellar Industries Charter I am in official command of Orbit." You finished as the Fleet gave green lights of approval.

Good they were angry and saw the plan through its first phase. Good boys, a lot of them.

"Admiral Void Sunrise Fleet is in pursuit, what do we want Captain Harlow to do?" Your first officer Cyrus Goldblum said as the entire fleet moved with a rage and purpose you haven't seen since Shadow or any of the assaults on Pirate dens.

"Stay behind us and keep an eye on our rear, have Be-Lucky's fighter wings run rear guard." You said taking off your hat and slicking back your hair.

"Find them and;Lets light them up." You ordered.

And you would only stop if you couldn't find them.

Finding the Pirates: D100 => 28 vs D100 => 39

-------------------------------------

A Week had passed…and now there was nothing to show for it.

The Pirates were GONE!

"FUCK!" You shouted as the scans and scouting screens held your worst possible fears…they got away and you went on a wild goose chase looking to shoot them! Time had been wasted.

Time that could mean victory or a mess.

I only hope that something can be regained from this…or that Sanjar and Graham have had an easier time now.

And yet you were met only with disappointment.

"MSI FLEET Void Sunshine, This is UDL Fleet Forlorn Hammer, Flotilla Captain Felix Drafts, Send Authorization Codes and Clarify mission." It was an order from UDL.

What the fuck was UDL doing here! This was your ORBIT! YOUR LAND! YOUR SHIT!

"Interrogative Hammer…what the hell are you doing here!? This is not your patrol region?" You said as the chatter of the other captains blared on the personal channels, some had their grumbling was more inquisitive, others were just looking for a fight.

For now…you just wanted to know why the hell a Board BOOTLICKER was on your ORBIT!

"Recently changed Orders and Patterns we are here to enforce blockade pattern B in accordance with the HHC Hazzard Clause section 24-5B. Which brings with it the right to use lethal force on any Blockade Runners."He said.

Or Rebels… The words were left unsaid, but the meaning was there.

You knew the protocols, what they couldn't take from the surface they'd…destroy, and leave a sundered so the survivors wouldn't use corporate resources in the aftermath.

You knew the reasoning, and it makes sense in a sickening and cruel way…it was something anyone would do in a retreat…or siege.

"Where's the Damned order?" You demanded, this WELP of an officer was smug on the other end as the paper containing the order printed out.

HHC Public Notice 117: ON THE ISSUING OF THE HAZARD CLAUSE FOR TERRA-1

This Notice Issues January 12th 2343, serves as a public denouncement of Terra -1 as a feasible workplace environment.

Due to the hostile and aggressive nature of the wildlife, as well as the unsustainability of its natural flora and fauna for human consumption, the Halcyon Holding Corporation Board has officially enacted a Hazard Clause over the entirety of Terra-1.

After an Evacuation period of No Less than Six Months, Terra-1 will be officially considered illegal territory. As this is a unanimous decision , any corperation caught operating on Terra 1 after the evacuation period will face fines and possible disbarment , as defined by Halcyon Code 22.1.

---------------------------

Hold your breath and count to three, exhale and release. "Captain …would this disbarment mean the seizure and relocation of my forces to other corperate holdings?"

"Yes…though not without an offical hearing and review of all officers for possible espionage and loyalty hearings." He said.

You sighed and turned this perticular frequency off and changed to your private comm line. You couldn't get through the Blockade to Sanjar or Graham. So you looked to your captain's frequency.

"Well boys…put it for straws…we gonna pop this proper of sneak away…cause no way in hell am I gonna put you through a show boat in Byzantium." You said.

The Answer to your question came in the form of nearly every IFF in the UDL Fleet turning hostile and your forces entering battle position.

Ave Monarch our home…

"All forces enter attack pattern Grid C4 through C9, all fighters sweep and clear, give them hell boys." You said as your ship lurched into position as you smiled.

Love the smell of Plasma before a fight.

MSI Fleet Volly And Assult: D3 => 2 +2 (Suprise attack) +2 (School of Carlile)=6

Vs

UDL Fleet Response: D3 => 3-2 (Suprise attack)+2 (School of Carlile)=3

MSI Finishing off the Stragglers: D3 => 2+2 (School of Carlile)=4

vs

UDL: WHAT THE HELL RUN AWAY THEY ARE KILLING US!: D3 => 3+2 (School of Carlile)=5

The Attack came and went within minutes as both sides traded blow after blow, the UDL ships put up a fight.

But in space even the one with the fastest draw wins.

Ship after ship took damage, some of them yours, but it wasn't something to worry about…

--------------------

Captain Drafts was shaking, they were motivated, they were shooting back, you didn't think that a HHC Board fleet could shoot back, and so you shot back, but your gunnery seemed to be missing them time and again.

"Rebellion…." He said shaking in his boots. "SUmmon UDL Forces…ANYONE REBELLION ON MONARCH! Get behind the gas giant and wait for the skip signals."

As the order came one of his Cutters was hit by a volly of two missles in the bridge tearing it asunder and making it all but lost with all hands.

He would be hanged for this loss of property…no, he'd be sent to a management desk on Tartarus for this! "MOVE We need to get out of here!"

Reward: UDL Fleet Forlorne Hammer loses 53 Vessles out of 64 Combat Vessels and has retreated behind Olympus to reposition.

You have taken 10 Damaged Vessels, 6 Fighters in need of heavy repair and 4 slightly damaged Star Haulers.

-----------------------

You felt good about it. It felt really good to fight your bosses for once. Or at least those assholes in UDL…they got all the funding and the subsidies in the last several years so you had to work with less.

YOU HAD TO WORK WITH SUB PAR LEFT OVERS!

YOU HAD TO WORK WITH THE MUCK AND SCUM! You had standards damn it…sure you paid that one bribe in order to get promoted to captain, but better you then that FUCKING third gereration silver spooned runt who can't even keep his room clean, much less lead a ship.

Its the sort of shit you dispised…HATED even when living under the Board, Monarch was supposed to be your out, your canvas to make a more sane society…but NO they had to ruin this TO!

You closed your eyes and sighed. "They are jumping in more UDL Fleets arn't they?"

"The Ragged Sparrow, of Hestia, and Rightgous Bullet of Helena, they'll be here to support the hammer in the Hour…thats over 270 ships boss. I mean if we hit the rings or the surrounding astroid field…we could get a tactical advantage." Cyrus said. " Or we could scatter and rally somewhere-."

"Give the order we're pulling out into the Black Inbetween, I'm sorry, but even if we restored contact we don't have any of the Planitary defence grids operational enough to do it. Or even if the ships in dry dock are ready." You said.

"What about the Grant sir? She's somewhere on it getting ready?" Captain Fredrich said.

"We both knew it wasn't going to be ready…or even if it was ready…if it would have even made a diffrence." You said glumly.

"You know where to go everyone…See you all Skipside." You said as the fleet took jump positions and prepared to Skip Jump out of the gravity well region.

You could only gaze to your homeworld one final time as you took off your hat. "Good luck you two arrogent assholes…don't kill eachother while I'm gone. We made a promise to work this all out together, three of us against an entire fucking Galexy."

You smiled. "Good bye."

The Void Sunrise Fleet made its final preperations and jumped into the Deep Black of Space…into the Beyond of Halcyon itself.

Reward: The First Battle of Olympus is a Minor Pyrrch Victory for the HHC, The Blockade over Monarch is maintained at the cost of 53 Vessels and the enamy retreateing into Halcyon Proper.

Chatlog Situation Report: Tactical Assesment of Forlorne Hammer

Akande: This.was. CLUSTER.FUCK! Those are Vessels and Men we cannot get back, Draft…what the hell were you doing.

Draft: I will say this with honesty…I was only holding off until my reinforcements arraived, My fleet was ment to keep an eye on the void not HOLD It, and need I remind you we didn't know about Fisher's Loyalties until she opened fired on us.

Akande: You had probable cause Captain.

Draft: Yes firing upon a, until recently noted, Board aligned fleet during the middle of a power struggle will look so good to our stockholders and constituents. Tell me how are they feeling about Rockwell's little overthrow of our last chairman?

Akande: Cautiously optimistic…they didn't think the Terra-1 Project was going to be useful and thought it was becoming a money sink with all the resorces needed to settle it.

Draft: An eternal war against nature…isn't that most of Human History.

Akande: Correct but given other issues they thought it more prudent to focus on what has already developed so we can deal with the Skip gate shortages. Among other serious issues.

Draft: Carlie's got them running scared ain't he?

Akande: I'm worried that Carlile will pull something off…and I know his force deployments and know how seperate they are.

Draft: I think that Fisher might try to work with him…thats my working theory.

Akande: Report to Tesla UDL Headquarters and file your report..this situation has gotten alot more complicated now.

AN: Yeah, you could see the Battle from Orbit/Groundside.

Go Mirai! She's doing so well for herself.

4 days until the 6th war ends, summit hall:

Faraji Balewa, Planetary Representative of Anubis

"What do you mean he isn't coming. He sent me a request to work together right before he would've left! What happened?"

Faraji could only grit his teeth. This wasn't supposed to be happening. He knew Huiliang. He always seemed to push the people he worked with away. Representative Atli shouldn't have been asking about him.

"I'm sorry Aysun. It was a tragedy... I'm sorry you didn't hear, but-"

"What. Happened?" Rep Atli Forcefully responded.

Thank goodness Faraji had prepared something for when people asked.

"There was a bomb. It went off in the syndicalist headquarters.... and we don't think its the directorate, not with this peace treaty and the existence of the 5th fleet. No, they don't need to use bombs, not with their fleet on the way, so we are trying to figure out who would benefit from this, but..."

Rep Atli struck a thoughtful pose, bring up her hand underneath her chin and stating at the floor a few minutes before answering.

"Anubis, isn't the only planet being hit, although its clear that your attack was the most serious. I've heard bad things coming out of Eve too, but that has mostly been attributed to the gallant gentlemen party... Are there any similar conservative parties on Anubis? I only know of the syndicalists and your technocrats party"

"Not really, Rep Atli. Rep Huiliang has assured me he will update me when he learns more about the situation, but we don't know anything right now. All I know is the syndicalist party is panicking"

"Well, I think we will need to keep watch over Elliot Pearson and his 'Gentlemen'. I have never trusted him, and I feel like he is trying to organize something during this summit. And considering what is happening on Anubis and Eve, and the other unsubstantiated rumors I have heard from other planets, I think we need to prepare for them to provide a surprise during this summit. Dammit! This disunity is exactly what we didn't need!"

Faraji could only curse in his mind. Of course, Rep Atli had caught onto the fact that the Gallant Gentlemen party had organized. and of course, now she was on the hunt for a traitor..

At least she didn't suspect him. Perhaps he could try to avoid any direct confrontation with her... which meant he would have to avoid any face-to-face conversations with Pearson....

Peace had just gotten a whole lot harder to achieve.

3 days until the 6th war ends, summit hall:

Aysun Atli, Planetary Representative of Anansi

Rep Atli still couldn't believe how terrible things were going already without Rep. Huiliang. She would've expected that without him and his argumentative attitude, she would've been able to make more progress, but it was clear that there was still a lot of distrust and paranoia going around. Too many people were hesitating.

It didn't help the fact that something was off in the SRA. She knew that the Gallant Gentlemen's rise to prominence hadn't been... peaceful. Elliot Pearson and his cadre had initially been warlords on Nerati[1], but they had been chased onto Cerberus during the war... and there Elliot had gathered and expanded his influence. Honestly, she had no definitive evidence, but she had heard about how he had used deniable violence to 'help' in elections, and she had no doubt in her mind that he was trying something on a larger scale now. She truly wished she could catch him out, and prove that he was trying to undermine democracy and spread his empire, but she hadn't been able to find anything yet. Who knew what plans he had for this peace summit, but he would surely try to take advantage, and there was no way in hell Aysun would ever let a brutish warlord like him take the reigns of the SRA.

But now Huiliang had been forced to attend to matters on Anubis, and Pearson was on a charm campaign.

And nobody was trying to organize a proper response for the bloody treaty negotiations. Everyone was just tiptoeing around the fact that they needed a coherent set of demands for this peace.

Sure, the 5th fleet was coming and could destroy them, but it was clear the situation was not as one sided as it seemed. The Earth Directorate was barely hanging by a thread, having lost most of its skipgate network and civilian ships. It needed its ships back home yesterday, instead of wasting time trying to subjugate 7 rebellious planets. The Directorate needed peace far more than the SRA did, and she hoped her fellow representatives could see that. If they held, they could certainly extract some useful concessions, and finally get some progress from this damnable wars, instead of just surviving to fight another day.

If only her fellow representatives could grow a backbone, and try and fight here could they make it all damn worth something. She knew the general mood was gloomy, with the news about the 5th fleet's existence and new configuration, but she was sure they could do something...

If she could actually connect to any of her fellow representatives. Her job was already difficult, and it didn't help that Aysun barely knew anyone at the meeting. Sorse still, her nerves were preventing her from making the best first impression, and she had floundered more than one opportunity. Still she had time before things officially started and hopefully she could both organize the representatives to get a good deal, while countering whatever plans Pearson had with his party.

Hopefully, she could organize another meeting between-

The doors opened with a painful creak, announcing the entrance of the Earth Directorate diplomats, and the formal start of the Peace summit.

And Rep. Atli could only wince as she saw all the other representatives flinch at their forceful entrance.

She could already tell that the SRA was being cowed in negotiations, and not even a single word had been spoken yet.

1. Nerati one of the worlds which rebelled right after the skip gate blackout. Its located in the nearby Pegasus Sector, and is mostly a center for heavy and rare metals mining.

General Zou Li, commander of the Mercenary Legions

General Li reached to his hip again, to where his hidden sidearm sat. He knew he wasn't the only armed soldier here. There were several guards at the perimeter, and it wouldn't surprise him if all these warlord 'diplomats' all carried weapons as well.

but he could tell that these people didn't command from the front, didn't face bloodshed personally. Instead they gave commands, and organized things.

These were probably the people who had masterminded the gate attack strategy and almost plunged human civilization into a new interstellar dark age!

He fumed, before taking a second to control himself. He knew that all of this was a terrible idea. Across from them sat terrible warlords who had almost brought down the Directorate in their lust for power and riches. And they were trying to make a deal with these monsters!

It was immensely frustrating. but he would fix things.

He just needed to make sure none of the leaders would be able to escape once things started. Already, he knew his guards were beginning to search the building and prepare.

And once they did, he would just need to give the signal. He would just need to commit.

It didn't matter if he died. It didn't matter if he and his men had to sacrifice themselves.... They would be able to stop this farce. They would be able to ensure these murderers and barbarians never again threatened human civilization.

He just needed to have the courage to act when the time came.

He once again touched his hidden weapon with his wet, sweaty fingers.

He. Just. Needed. To. Have. The. Courage. To. Act.

Sergeant Lafiza Khalil, Strategist of the Reformed 4th Directorate Fleet

Sergeant Lafiza Khalil realized she was going to have a very difficult day today.

It was common military strategy to divide your enemies. It was even common to do this during negotiation... but there ha always been a problem with the tactic.

If you split your enemies too much, it was difficult to face them with your larger, more organized force....

And she was seeing that in action today. The SRA representatives had a million different requests for a single aspect of a particular topic, and it was driving her and the Directorate Diplomat mad.

She knew Admiral Bhat was depending on her to sort through this mess, but it was difficult to even figure out what the priority demands were here.

And they couldn't just brush through everything, like the Corporate liaison would've preferred. They were trying to build up the SRA as a counterweight to the massive influence of the corporations, and the SRA reps seemed to be doing their damnedest to screw things up.

It was a terrible first day and...

Representative Pearson was asking for autonomy again, all while Mrs Ilina continued giving the "I told you" look to everyone. Seriously, the one group that seemed somewhat organized, and it was working towards the exact opposite of anything productive. It was clear that Pearson didn't know what he was actually doing, and that if they followed his lead, they would end up reliant on the very corps they hated within a few years, if not months.

There was more meaningful suggestions from the representatives from Anansi, Chrysalis, and Anubis, but ultimately, they all wanted different things. The Chrysalis diplomats were fine with Directorate enforcement of exports to the SRA, but demanded SRA observers. The Anubis Representative, Faraji Balewa, was asking for min and max monthly exports to SRA. However, reading between the lines, it was clear that he was trying to force an artificial amount of supply from the corps, and eventually force them to sell goods at cheap prices, just to clear their warehouses. A clever plan, but not really something the Directorate was interested in supporting into perpetuity. Finally, the Anansi's representative's plan was the most influential, with demands that any for any product or good that was sold in SRA space, the people that worked on it would be entitled to SRA protections. While the corporate liaison had had the most drastic and negative reaction to this suggestion, Sergeant Khalil couldn't help but feel like this was perhaps the most beneficial route to take for their goals.

It didn't mean that the whole process wouldn't be an utter headache, if every day was like this.

2 days until the 6th war ends, summit hall:

Admiral Ajit Bhat of the Reformed 4th Directorate Fleet

Admiral Baht couldn't help but feel restless at the whole process. He could tell that everyone was getting frustrated by the lack of progress, as they kept retreading ground, before deciding to move on to another topic, to then almost immediately returning to said topic because it became relevant to their new discussion and on and on and on.

He could feel his head going in circles.

They would keep arguing the same points, bringing up the same examples, and then just resorting to yelling, when people tried to move one, and it all felt like one big mess. He knew he fundamentally didn't understand this type of battlefield, but his initial impression was that this was a waste of time...
except it wasn't, since they had clearly made progress, however slowly, as compromises were slowly hammered out.

Still, watching experts trying to get work done in a field he simply did not understand was much more hopeful than the skullduggery occurring in the background.

Admiral Bhat could feel the betrayal happening in his bones.

He wasn't sure who was having bright ideas, but it was clear that something wasn't right, and he wasn't sure who it was.

He could see the paranoia flitting through the eyes of certain diplomats, and even some of the staff seemed like they had surprises they wanted to hide.

Part of him wanted to grab all directorate personnel, and flee the obvious ambush. He knew something was planned!

The other part of him knew this was a peace conference, and that if the directorate balked, it would mean that they had essentially decided to throw hundreds of thousands of lives into the blender because he was too afraid of a negotiating table.

and quite honestly, he knew his remaining officers could handle things if something happened to him. No, he needed to be brave now.

Whatever the trap is, he would be ready to counter it.

And yet, he couldn't help but mourn a little at the idea that whatever came out of this peace summit would be marred by betrayal and treachery and scheming. It all felt so petty to him on some level. The fate of humanity to be decided, and people still couldn't help but play their games.

Faraji Balewa, Planetary Representative of Anubis

Faraji wasn't trying to do anything too difficult. He had explicitly understood that it would be hard to push for any kind of terms at the summit. While the entirety of the SRA was here, it was certainly not working together. The best luck they had was the Gallant Gentlemen, who actually held a majority on 2 planets.... and that wasn't even helping because they weren't sticking to the plan, and were just making their normal moronic demands.

He honestly couldn't help but lose a little faith in the whole proceedings getting them anything they want. It was even clear that the directorate wanted to give them some useful terms, if just to prevent another war from flaring up when the planets realized the treaty was shit, and rebelled again. They wanted to give something workable.

and his coworkers were so disorganized that they were having trouble even doing that.

At this rate, they might as well demand the surrender of all the SRA planets. It would be far more reasonable goal for them.

Ugh, Faraji hated this. He knew he could organize things, but he was trying to escape Rep. Atli's suspicion.

The cold gaze she had been bandying about was terrifying, and he knew she would be more than willing to act if she ever figured out what had actually happened. She would most certainly be suspicious if he suddenly started working with Pearson on a feasible deal.

And he didn't even have that much to do! He just had to hash out some of the finer points, and make sure that everyone understood the deal they were aiming for, and what was expected out of all of them. Hell, a good discussion could convince everyone he was still on board and to progress as usual.

Instead, he felt like he was trying to hide in plain sight, with a sniper aimed at his back.

Rep. Atli was laser focused on anyone interacting with Rep. Pearson, and was doing her damnedest to convince anyone that his approach was the exact wrong one to take. For some reason, she completely objected to his calm conciliatory approach, and was suggesting a much more radical push back. He understood that everyone was getting frustrated by the process, but he seriously didn't think raised voices would help with anything.

As long as they worked together and demanded things in a calm conciliatory manner he was sure that they could sneak away from this peace treaty with something more than the directorate was willing to offer. He knew they only wanted to give scraps, but he was sure that they could get just a little bit more.

He just wished that some people, like Rep. Atli, would stop antagonizing the whole process.

1 day until the 6th war ends, summit hall:

Senator Kinaika Aguda, Lead Diplomat of the Directorate Peace Delegation

Senator Aguda did not like this process at all, but it was becoming clearer that they would eventually pull through. The whole process was like trying to pull teeth, what with all the opposing diplomats in disarray. It was clear that they didn't have a unified front. They had been at this for hours, and she had had to field hundreds of completely different ideas.

Still, she had made strategic 'blunders' and guided the conversation slightly to something more profitable. More and more anti-corporate terms were being forced into the treaty, and she could see the Corporate Liaison steaming. She knew the woman was a negotiating genius, but ultimately, the SRA diplomats feared the Earth Directorate, and wanted to know what terms the Senator was fine with setting. She had the control in these negotiations, not Mrs. Ilina. and regardless of however much Mrs. Ilina tried to talk to diplomats like Representative Pearson, nothing would change that.

Faraji Balewa, Planetary Representative of Anubis

Finally, Finally! He had a chance to meet with Rep Pearson.... and it wasn't going well.

"So, our local snake decides to actually come and talk."

"What do you mean snake! I have been busy trying to make sure that Representative Atli doesn't find out what we are planning and-"

"Cease your excuses, Balewa. You told us you had a plan, and then you flaked. And now you are here, a few days after the summit has started and we've already gotten several terms hammered out. You can't seriously expect-"

"Listen to me, we are wasting the good will of the directorate on terms which we don't care about! I know I could've organized things better, but we only had so much time before the summit started. I am suggesting we talk now before more reps. arrive so that we can actually get the things we want and-"

"You still claim you couldn't act before because of Rep Atli. You haven't put your foot forward and supported our proposals. You haven't made sacrifices!"

"I HAVE MADE ALL OF THE SACRIFICES! I.... I have made sacrifices, Mr. Pearson, don't you dare suggest that I haven't"

"You have only learned how to actually play the game of politics. do not-"

"Stop. Right. There. don't you dare! We will get this done and.... and I will make sure some proposals of yours are supported."

"Good, that-"

"But do not kid yourself that I will support the malarkey you've been proposing. We had a deal, based on compromises. Instead, you have been making the same old demands you were before we spoke. I will be honoring our deal, not your ambition"

Rep. Pearson's smarmy smile quickly ceased, and was replaced with a carefully neutral blank face, that leaked out none of Pearson's apparent rage. "You need to start pulling your weight. but fine, I can support you once you actually enact the plan"

It was the best Faraji was going to get. He knew that this would be a difficult road, but it was for peace.

It was for a peace that could finally last, and that his daughter could grow up in.

He would make sure to achieve it here.

General Zou Li, commander of the Mercenary Legions

General Li watches as the diplomats filter into the room. Elliot Pearson is trying to open a dialogue with him, but he has no interest.

Because he has finally confirmed everything. The layout, the secret passages, the security personnel, and the emergency protocols. They had finally been able to figure everything out, and have an airtight understanding of the facility.

All these damn helpless barbarians... They had been wasting time and energy trying to get a million scraps they never deserved. And now he could end this farce, regardless of what the senator or admiral had to say.

He just needed to pull out his magnum and....

His sweaty palms couldn't quite close around the grip.

He just needed his gun. He just needed to grab it and-HE knew why, too! These entitled brats wanted everything just handed to them. FUCK they had spent days just talking about the number of imports that they would require by fucking law! Fuck That! If they really needed shit, they could buy it like everyone else!

He just needed to grab the gun!

Fuck, one of the representatives was now making a big show of needing supplies for dying children and FUCK THAT SHIT! FUCK YOUR LIES!

Obviously they were lying. No one did that shit. Everybody always fucking lied about the kids. Either they were just fine, or they weren't actual kids, and someone was trying to get a scrawny adult off scot free and-

STOP LYING ABOUT THE DYING CHILDREN, YOU BARBARIANS! WE ALL KNOW YOU ARE LYING AND-

He took a breath to calm down, and tried to grab hiss gun again and-

... He could do this. This sort of scum deserved the bullet, regardless of what the law said. And he could do his duty for human civilization, and stop these barbarians and..

and...

he wasn't scared.....

he wasn't.... he just.

he just realized that this summit would fall part on its own. He didn't need to do anything, right. They were still arguing.

And its not like Humanity could afford to have more clear eyed people like him die. Imagine what would happened if they had to rely on idiots like Senator Aguda, who seemed to believe every word about those damn fake dead children gimmick.

No, he definitely needed to survive. That's why, he couldn't afford to go through with the plan.

He wasn't scared.... He had just realized that he needed to survive.

Admiral Ajit Bhat of the Reformed 4th Directorate Fleet

Admiral Bhat's eyes started to glaze over, as Pearson once again demanded complete control and autonomy over the election process on each planet. and once again, no one outside his party supported him. He was getting very very tired of the very angry man (regardless of how soft-spoken he remained) going over the same point.

He might've even nodded off, if not for the emergency alarm that suddenly started ringing.

A fleet had just jumped into the system.

Aysun Atli, Planetary Representative of Anansi

Aysun Atli was getting very pissed off at Pearson and his attempts to derail this peace summit. No one cared for his complete autonomy suggestion! Nobody was really entertaining that idea, at least not at the expense of everything else they wanted.

She was about to lay into him, and try and get this discussion back on track to mandatory noble gas import levels before an emergency alarm started ringing to signal a fleet arriving in the system.

And she recognized the ship signatures that were displayed on screen.... which just led her to one question...

What the hell was the New Deal Coalition doing here? Weren't they supposed to be on the run?

Admiral Pan Seulgi

Admiral Seulgi knew it was time. She calmed herself, and stopped pacing.

And she looked straight into the camera, and started speaking.

"-have come here with the New Deal Coalition Fleet to pass urgent news on the status of the war, and the fighting on Gersemi. We can confirm that the red lion, Alparslan Batur, the leader of the Communist Coalition has been killed along with all other communist forces on the surface of Gersemi. We have included a recording he broadcasted of his final words as an attachment and urge all attendants of the peace summit to spread his-"

Senator Kinaika Aguda, Lead Diplomat of the Directorate Peace Delegation

The senator could only dimly listen to the words of the new deal leader. The red lion, the boogeyman of the directorate was dead. It had been a necessary casualty to inflict. The directorate couldn't afford to have a commander as skilled as him survived.

So what was this sense of foreboding. And why had the entire coalition fleet rushed here just to deliver this bad news?

However, we also have had confirmation of the destruction of the 5th fleet under Admiral Cunningham in a skipspace accident. From what we can tell, most of the battleships suffered damage at the battle of Gersemi which damaged their skipspace drives, and led to a catastrophic failure. From what we can see, less than 10 cutters and corvettes survived the initial skipspace travel attempt.

Admiral Ajit Bhat of the Reformed 4th Directorate Fleet

Admiral Bhat couldn't believe his ears. The 5th fleet was gone. The 5th fleet they were relying on...
That couldn't be the case. Even with the destruction of all the actual warships, the fleet held several hundred troop carrier ships. Corporations from across the galaxy had provided millions of soldiers to fight. Surely not all of the ships had crashed. Surely some of the troop carriers had survived and they could salvage something from this mess.

And yet, he knew exactly what must've happened. After all, they were corporation soldiers, whose bravery could never be trusted when they needed it most. He knew exactly what they would've done the moment they knew the fleet was gone.

and his worst fears were confirmed by The New Deal Leader's next words.

- 674 converted Hermes freight shipping transports and 82 Olympiad X4 mega troop carriers survived. From what we can tell using surviving evidence, it appears that the various mercenary companies blamed each other for the sinking of the 5th fleet warships, with several accusations of sabotage and treachery bandied about. From what we can tell, when the surviving Earth Directorate cutters and corvettes tried to impose order, the corps reacted violently. We have evidence of several illegally carried nuclear devices being carried by most of the mercenary corps contained within the 5th fleet, and evidence suggests that more than 200 nuclear devices were somehow delivered and used against the remaining Earth Directorate warships within the next 5 minutes, and completely annihilated any remaining Earth Directorate ships and crew.

After this, almost all the Mercenary companies devolved into infighting. While most fighting was impromptu boarding actions between troops carriers, we have evidence of more than 190 nuclear devices being used within the next 40 minutes. We approximate that at least 100 million soldiers were lost in the after-battle of Gersemi, and that less than 200,000 survivors, with the only surviving forces belonging to Erra Elite Mercenary Corporation. Commander Ramsey, leader of these remnants, immediately took these forces and headed towards the pirate system of Marjing. We hypothesize that he broke off from the stated mission of the 5th fleet, and is instead trying to get false documentation for his ships and men, so that he can returned to Core Directorate space.

To simplify, the 5th fleet has been completely lost and the only remaining expeditionary forces the Directorate still has are the ships and soldiers contained within the 4th fleet. We urge the SRA to use this knowledge in negotiations with the Directorate!

Sergeant Lafiza Khalil, Strategist of the Reformed 4th Directorate Fleet

That couldn't be! Sergeant Khalil was absolutely horrified at the thought. Did she really just say the 5th fleet had been eliminated in its entirety! The hope of humanity, which was supposed to ensure the protection of humanity was now gone!

She felt like vomiting as she began to realize.... The Earth Directorate was about to die.... and humanity was about to enter a period of warlords and despots.

Humanity was about to enter a new dark age, and all she could do is sit an watch and let it happen. They had failed.

General Zou Li, commander of the Mercenary Legions

SHE HAD TO BE LYING!

She had to be lying! Even as skilled as the red lion is, he couldn't have won against a fleet like that.

The barbarians couldn't be winning!

...

As general Li reached for his sidearm, he realized it was all worthless. If the 5th fleet was gone, what good did a victory here do? What could they even do now.

He slumped in his seat in defeat as he realized he had been defeated before he had even tried to start fighting.

He wanted it to be a lie. He desperately wanted it to be a lie....

Aysun Atli, Planetary Representative of Anansi

It couldn't be! IT COULDN'T BE! The 5th fleet was gone! They actually had a chance to win this war! Desperately tamping down her own excitement and desire to jump up and down in joy, she looked at the other delegates to see who else had realized just what possibilities could be exploited here.

And she saw Rep. Balewa stand up to give a response and she couldn't help but be relieved someone else had had the same revelation she had and-

Faraji Balewa, Planetary Representative of Anubis

This couldn't be happening. Obviously couldn't be happening.

Faraji wouldn't believe the lies of another war-obsessed bastard! She was just telling whatever fucking lie she wanted to get her way! That wasn't how democracy worked! You didn't just get to tell whatever lie you wanted to get your way!

No, HuiliangAdmiral Seulgi wouldn't get away with another of hisher schemes. No, he couldn't allow this to happen.

"Admiral Seulgi, I applaud your ... performance. and I commend the speed with which you got here. but I must ask... why do you lie to us right now.

Admiral Pan Seulgi

What? What the hell was he talking about. Perhaps she hadn't been clear and-
"Sir, could you explain how you are confused and perhaps I can clarify-"

Faraji Balewa, Planetary Representative of Anubis

"What I mean to say, Admiral Seulgi, is that it is extremely convenient that you came to us to disrupt a peace summit where we weren't necessarily going to settle things for you. It is very convenient for you to come to us, and say we can negotiate for more, which would probably include making you one of the signatories for this deal"

"What the hell are you talking about, Representative. We have presented the facts as we have found them and there is no reason you would leave us out of a peace settlement!"

Aysun Atli, Planetary Representative of Anansi

What the hell was Faraji saying! Representative Atli was still dumbstruck. Hell, they hadn't even gotten to the terms about the fleet based factions. They literally had yet to make a decision, and it certainly didn't seem like anyone was going to argue against including them in the treaty.

Right?

...and why the hell was Representative Balewa playing devil's advocate now of all times?

Faraji Balewa, Planetary Representative of Anubis

"Admiral Seulgi, it is extremely convenient you came to us now. We were just talking about terms which would outlaw militarized fleets... Fleets like yours. and your people have made pledges to never again be caught flat-footed on a planet again. You have vowed to maintain some sort of fleet, and I imagine these terms are unacceptable to your little coalition"

Aysun Atli, Planetary Representative of Anansi

OK, maybe Representative Pearson and the Corporate Liaison had both brought up fleet bans but no one was taking that seriously! What the hell was Balewa saying!

Admiral Pan Seulgi

Were they really thinking of abandoning the New Deal Coalition fleet? Surely they wouldn't, not after everything they had done!

She... She needed to convince them that the fleet was gone. Regardless of their betrayal, they needed to at least acknowledge what the red lion had accomplished. It was important that they understand how close to victory they were!

"Representative! We-"

Faraji Balewa, Planetary Representative of Anubis

"We have come with the best of intentions, with sensory evidence of all kinds! We can prove to you that-"

"I am not interested in what arm chair generals like you have to say. We all know that you've had more than enough time to construct false evidence!

But lets look at facts! You came here at an extremely convenient time, you present extremely convenient evidence of extremely unlikely set of events occurring, and then urge us on a plan of action that would be extremely beneficial for you. Anyone with half a brain can see that something is wrong.

but if anyone still doesn't believe me, then perhaps you should ask yourselves..

Why did admiral Seulgi come here with her entire fleet, if she wasn't fleeing from the still existing 5th fleet?"

Admiral Pan Seulgi

NO NONONONO! Why couldn't this idiot get it through his head.

"Representative Balewa we came here with our entire fleet due to the fact of how many new refugees we have picked up. For fleet cohesion, and to insure that people don't believe they are being left behind we needed to-"

"STOP LYING! WE ALL KNOW THAT YOU JUST NEEDED ONE SHIP FOR THIS MESSAGE! YOU DIDN'T NEED TO COME HERE YOURSELF! YOU ARE HERE TO LIE TO US!"

"Representative Balewa! You wouldn't have believed me if I didn't say such important information myself! You need to-"

She could already tell.... Everyone in the summit hall had begun speaking over her. Everyone had suddenly begun yelling and it was at her and-

She could hear the staticky sounds of people calling the Coalition selfish and cowardly, she could hear them calling her a snake she could hear-

Faraji Balewa, Planetary Representative of Anubis

"ORDER MY FELLOW REVOLUTIONARIES! ORDER!

Hasn't it become clear what we must do. Even when our former allies betray us, they do bring us good information. The 5th fleet has finally gotten past Gersemi. It will come for us next. Do we really have time to quibble about peace terms? Or should we try to get something that we can all agree upon? You see-"

Darya Illinia, Corporate Liaison of the Directorate Peace Delegation

Mrs. Illina looked around the room. First, the declaration of the death of the red lion had shaken them. Then, a lie about the 5th fleet being destroyed and reinvigorated them. And now, Representative Balewa was challenging the lie. He was overly fearful, but that had allowed him some useful insights, it appeared.

Still, she could sense she would get her opportunity soon. She had already identified the biggest player in the room, Representative Pearson. and She had already tailored her deal to fit his desires. It hadn't taken much tweaking, and she was proud of the fact that she had all but predicted what the SRA would actually want.

Now, she just had to wait for the perfect opportunity. She just had to wait until Representative Balewa made it clear that peace was now an extremely time-limited offer, and then provide her deal at the opportune moment and..

NOW!

"Representative Balewa. My apologies about interrupting you, but if you truly want to sign a peace deal immediately, the Earth Directorate does have a completed set of terms ready and available for you right now"

She smirked as soon as she saw Senator Aguda's face. Apparently, the politician had truly not believed her when she stated she knew exactly what these people would want. And they already had taken to the new terms with aplomb, as she could see that many members on the opposing side had already conceded to her treaty deep within their hearts.

and while Balewa still looked shell-shocked, as control of the conversation was ripped from him, the real power in the SRA spoke up.

"Thank you Mrs. Illina, for giving us the chance to review this document. If you wouldn't mind giving us a 30 minute recess to review this document? Afterwards we could continue our discussion, and hopefully we will be able to finalize the peace treaty quickly.

"Of course, Mr. Pearson", and the moment she looked into their eyes, she knew exactly what the results of any vote would be.

They had finally won this damnable war.

- All members of the SRA will be pardoned from charges of sedition and rebellion, and the
- All planets within the SRA will be considered part of an Autonomous zone, and would not be subject to all standard interstellar Directorate law. However, they would still be considered to be part of the Earth Directorate, despite the autonomy they would enjoy
- planets within the autonomous zone will have the ability to determine their own democratic processes, regardless of other Earth Directorate voting rights Laws.
- The SRA would surrender all military equipment and fleets, and would be forbidden from raising any sort of militia or dense force
- Any faction/party that refused to do this would continue to be considered an enemy/traitor to the state, and would be hunted down.
- The Autonomous zone would continue to enforce the Bill of Corporate Rights (The McKinley Laws), that ensured fair market protections for corporations from worker sabotage
- This would include bans on striking and work stoppages, as well as bans on 'unusually subversive' unions
- This would also include the strict limits on corporate taxes, and the limitations on 'price gouging' against corporations
- Outside of these economic and military policies, the SRA would have the power to determine its own legal code.

Admiral Ajit Bhat of the Reformed 4th Directorate Fleet

Admiral Bhat was confused as he flipped through the now signed peace deal. There had to be a plan here, right? They wouldn't just sign this if there wasn't a plan, right? They had some way to salvage the principles and responsibilities of the Directorate from this mess.

He looked back and forth between his strategist and the senator, who both seemed equally focused. That was good. That meant that there something they could still do. Some way they could still turn this to their advantage. He would let the experts handle the politics. He would just needlessly screw things up, and get himself demoted.

No, he had to trust his allies. They would know how to turn make this something that could actually help humanity.

Sergeant Lafiza Khalil, Strategist of the Reformed 4th Directorate Fleet

Sargent Khalil could only grimace at the document in front of her. This treaty was an absolute travesty! Mrs. Ilina had just passed off her original plan as the final signed peace document and ... and....

and it had worked. The whole peace treaty was terribly slanted in the corporations' favor and there was nothing they could do....

Sure, Senator Aguda could try and pull rank, but could they afford to show weakness in front of the SRA now. Could they really afford to do anything else than get the SRA to immediately sign some peace treaty, any peace treaty?

Because as convincing as Representative Balewa had tried to be, it was clear that the 5th fleet was really gone, and that they no longer had room for any tricks. They just needed some sort of peace.

The alternative was the Earth directorate breaking apart... and that couldn't be allowed to happen. The empire had to hold.

So they would sacrifice here. It was the only option.

Aysun Atli, Planetary Representative of Anansi

Senator Aguda couldn't help but curse the Corporate Liaison. She had chosen her moment well, and struck quick and true.

She hadn't even truly realized what was happening at the time. At one moment, it seemed like the Earth Directorate was about to fall part, and then the next, they all but had a peace deal due to paranoid delegates.

She hated the fact that Mrs. Ilina had undone all her hard work, but it was increasingly clear that the corporations would not go down without a fight.

She could already see how the corporations would subvert every SRA government through the external trade deals they would be forced to make. It was sad, but there was nothing she could do.

Well, she could risk everything, and try and pass something closer to her original goal....

but that would mean trying to negotiate more, without letting anyone know that the 5th fleet was probably gone. She knew the representatives believed it for now, but it was obvious that they would soon learn the truth. And she honestly had no faith that she would be able to negotiate a good deal in that amount of time.

and she knew the price of failure. She knew just how likely the earth directorate would fall apart if she wasn't able to negotiate a peace...

So no, she would accept her failure here. At least with a peace deal now, perhaps they would have more leeway in the senate to push back against the corporations. She knew it was always going to be a hard fight, but she would rather risk the corporations winning than losing the empire.

After all, if the empire fell, everyone knew that civilization would fall with it. No, That couldn't be allowed to happen.

Humanity still needed the guidance of the Directorate. The Empire still needed to be guided. so she would accept her loss here this time. These people could be sacrificed... It would be worth it.

Admiral Pan Seulgi

Admiral Seulgi retreated to her personal room in a haze.... What the hell had happened!
YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED! YOU HAD ONE JOB AND YOU FUCKED IT UP LIKE YOU ALWAYS DO!
She had just wanted to make sure everyone survived this one time. She knew how many of their new refugees had been scared-
YOU JUST HAD TO SACRIFICE SOME STRANGERS, YOU DUMB BITCH!
She thought she could save everyone.
YOU HAD TO SAVE THE SOUL OF HUMANITY! NOT JUST YOUR FEELINGS!
She really had thought she had given up everything for the cause.
Don't you remember! You were never willing to sacrifice anything!
But then she just had to take everyone. She just had to cave, and do something suspicious. She could've just gone herself, right? She didn't need to bring everyone. She was just paranoid that they would be too afraid, right?
AND ALL YOU DO IS KEEP GIVING EXCUSES FOR WHY YOU COULDN'T MAKE SACRIFICES
The coalition was supposed to protect everyone! It was supposed to be the one safe haven that would last
YOU TAKE OUR CHILDREN! AND YOU SHOW THEM NOTHING BUT HOW TO DESTROY THEMSELVES AND LOSE EVERYTHING THEY HOLD DEAR! YOU TEACH THEM TO LOSE THEIR HUMANITY
She thought.... She though this one time she could take a risk. The Red Lion had faced down the impossible, after all.
I HANDED YOU VICTORY ON A SILVER PLATTER AND YOU RUINED EVERYTHING! YOU DOOMED HUMANITY TO AN ETERNAL DARK AGE OF CORPORATE SLAVERY
She knew she was abandoning the supply ships she needed to support the new refugees.... but things were supposed to work out! They were supposed to get peace here!
THEY ALREADY KNEW YOU WERE TRAITORS TO THE CAUSE! THAT IS WHY THEY DIDN'T BELIEVE YOU! WHY BELIEVE THE ONE MOST BRAIN DEAD INCAPABLE PERSON, THE ONE PERSON WHO NEVER DESERVED TO BE HERE, WHY BELIEVE THAT SHE WOULD CARRY THE TRUTH WITH HER
but instead she had refused to sacrifice
YOU NEVER DESERVED TO BE A LEADER
Yes, she never deserved to be a leader. She wasn't willing to-
YOU DIDN'T SACRIFICE!
Yes, her problem was that she didn't sacrifice. That was it.
HUMANITY SHOULD NEVER HAVE DEPENDED ON YOU
That was right, humanity should never should've rested on her shoulders.... and now, within a few years, at least half her fleet would starve because of her decision
you said you would take care of everyone but people like you can never take care of anyone
She had made a vow... but now she was protecting no one, wasn't she.
YOU MAY AS WELL HAVE KILLED THEM YOURSELF!
She had basically done that, right? made a promise she couldn't keep... And now they were going to die because of her. Because she had killed them...
HUMANITY WAS DEPENDING ON YOU!
Humanity had been depending on her
AND YOU FAILED IT!
And she had failed it

She had failed humanity.... She had failed her oaths....

She had failed her people... She had failed at everything important.
Humanity needs something other than you
....

Humanity would be better of without her...

She would be defined by her humanitarian efforts, quadrupling the size of the fleet with refugees and other exiles she had evacuated and protected. Historical research has revealed that the Coalition fleet must have helped to evacuate more than 100 worlds during the corporate wars...

In addition, she would become well known for her solid military tactics, which would be demonstrated in the battle of Hadúr, where she would defeat and eliminate the 15th fleet. While she would not be the most experiences military commanded of this era, her records would indicate that she maintained the best kill-to-death ratio of any admiral at this time...

There is no much evidence of her diplomatic skill, with many of her contemporaries taking the lead in diplomatic negotiations. However, when asking many of her still surviving contemporaries, they would all remark on the dependability of her vows and promises. All universally agreed that she would always do her utmost to fulfill any promise or vow she made, regardless of how circumstances changed. Some even remarked that she was the only leader of that time whom you could trust based on their word alone...

After serving as Admiral for the New Deal Coalition fleet for 14 years, Admiral Pan Seulgi would take her own life on November 28th, 2316, the day the 6th war formally ended. She would be formally succeeded by her first mate, Admiral Yustina Pavlova, who would serve as admiral to the fleet for the next 28 years.

Under her reign, the fleet would be reorganized and ....

Faraji Balewa, Planetary Representative of Anubis

Faraji couldn't believe what he was reading. He couldn't believe the treaty in front of him. What the hell were these terms!

"Pearson... Pearson, explain this. This is nothing like we negotiated. We had a deal! It wasn't just supposed to be all your demands, given to you on a silver platter!"

"Rep Balewa, we made a deal, but you didn't come through-" "I FUCKING CONVINCED EVERYONE WE NEEDED A DEAL NOW BEFORE THE 5TH FLEET CAME YOU BASTARD!"

"Yes, you convinced everyone of that. and you would've done that either way. Its not pertinent to our deal!

Listen, we only had one opportunity to get a deal. Clearly, the corporate representative was willing to give us a quick, fairly decent deal, while the senator would've bled us dry when we tried to ask for more. I have no illusions about the fact that if we didn't take this deal, we would've only gotten something worse. We needed to accept this. Circumstances have pushed things to the brink, and as you said, 'We needed to accept a reasonable deal'. We had no choice!"

The fight left Faraji as he slumped into his chair. It was true, wasn't it...

but wasn't it all supposed to be for something better. He had sacrificed so much! He had killed a man! He had SACRIFICED. SO. MUCH! Wasn't he supposed to get something out of that!

Weren't you supposed to make progress when you gave things up! Weren't you supposed to get something when you compromised!

This had to be good, somehow! He had to get something out of this!

There had to be something here that made this all worth it! He refused to believe that you could sacrifice so much and get nothing!

He continued to flip through the pages of the treaty to find anything there which would justify his actions. He continued to try and find something that would make it all worth it.

He would make it all worth it somehow! SOMEHOW IT ALL NEEDED TO BE WORTH IT!

The 'Scales of Justice' is a New Deal Coalition refugee ship, belonging to the remnants of the Anubis rebellion. It is currently captained by Maysa Balewa, daughter of Faraji "The Broken" Balewa. During the rebellion, she as and undercover rebellion spy/informant, granting critical strategic information and helping the rebellion survive. She also helped to secure three ships for the rebellion to flee on during the "Anubis Annihilation", when everyone else on the planet, including "Broken Balewa", her father, was killed in a corporate nuclear bombardment. Maysa has largely proven herself to be the opposite of her father, being trustworthy and dependable, despite her respiratory issues. Rumors that she killed her father personally before fleeing the planet are completely unsubstantiated fiction, however, and has been disproven many times.

Aysun Atli, Planetary Representative of Anansi

Aysun Atli couldn't believe what she was seeing. They really had just turned a back on one of their own. Hell, if Admiral Seulgi had been telling the truth, and there was nothing in her history to suggest that she would ever not be do that, then they had essentially grabbed defeat from the jaws of victory.

how the hell had their finest hour turned into this?

She looked back at Rep Pearson and his 'gentlemen' coalition, and couldn't help but feel that traitors had taken hold of the alliance. The treaty they had finalized contained nothing anybody wanted, but now that they believed the lies of Rep. Balewa-

That was another thing she had completely misjudged, hadn't she. She had all but come forward to the planner himself, and outed the fact that she knew something was up... she had told them all about her suspicions that someone was sabotaging the negotiations, told the exact person who may have been planning it all.

Even now, she wasn't even sure if Rep. Huiliang was actually still on Anubis, or if he had died somewhere along the way.

Still, she couldn't be a party to this... She couldn't allow Ansi to be party to this.... atrocity of a treaty...

They were supposed to fight for principles, not damn fiefdoms, like some petty warlords!

She hated this. She hated all of this. She knew Anansi couldn't fight alone.... She knew there was no situation now

The SRA was supposed to be the final bastion of revolutionary spirit, and even if she couldn't save all of it... she needed to ensure that Anansi didn't become party to this... farce. She needed to make sure the revolutionary spirit stayed alive in her homeworld. She needed to make sure that something survived this debacle.

She couldn't let the galaxy believe that all revolutions were bound to either fail or rot from the inside.

...

She needed to make sure the world knew Anansi wouldn't ever stoop this low.... and she needed to do it without dropping out of the alliance and without refusing the terrible peace treaty.

She needed to make sure everyone knew that Anansi was only agreeing under duress and-

"I'm resigning my position as diplomatic representative for Anansi", She announced.

She could hear the hall stop their discussion and turn to her, as Rep Pearson responded, "Rep. Atli, I am not sure what you expect, but as it has already been made clear, we absolutely need to resolve this treaty soon. I was hoping you could put aside your politics- "

"I have been putting aside my politics and trying to negotiate for the past few days, and we have essentially thrown away all the progress, so please don't tell me you treasure mine, nor Anansi's opinions. I am resigning my post, as it is clear that this hall has no interest in what I have to say."

Representative Pearson slimy face didn't move at all, as if he expected and wanted this outcome. However, it seemed Representative Balewa had a bigger sense of propriety as he responded, "Rep. Atli, I understand you are frustrated, but we need to show a united front and.... and even if you insist on this course of action, we will not wait for your replacement to arrive. If your resign, we will judge this as the planet of Anansi not wishing to be a part of the negotiation process. You won't get a say here"

She could only smile in response, "Yes, that is exactly what I am saying. If my opinion holds no weight, then lets make that formal, and just not have me be here in the first place."

She could see the shocked looks on the other representatives faces, as they began to realize just how drastic of a move she was will to play. Still, it would be better in the long run. No one would be able to say that Anansi had agreed to this piece of filth peace. And when... when, not if!, when this peace treaty and its terrible negotiation got out, people would realize Anansi held true to its word and-

"I too, would like to resign my post as Representative for the planet of Chrysalis"

huh, it seemed as if Representative Dönmez had also realized what is going on here..... She had never relied, or even really considered relying on the woman, who seemed to have exactly the wrong priorities all the time... but she was glad for the support.

She searched the eyes of her compatriots, but she only saw their fear. their cowardice... their willingness to trade away their principles for the fig leaf of safety that would disappear within a decade.

Anansi and Chrysalis would be alone.... and even then, it would be a hard struggle to make people believe that they would continue the fight...

but she would make sure that they would keep the fires of revolution lit... even if they had to spend the next few years building up... She refused to let this be the last war... She refused to let humanity continue to rot!

20 days after the 6th war ends, skipspace:

Admiral Ajit Bhat of the Reformed 4th Directorate Fleet

"Admiral Bhat! Admiral Bhat!"

"What the hell is it, Lieutenant Carlile?"

"Why... Why did we bloody sign this treaty? Why did we support this travesty?"

"Sailor, I was at the peace summit, but that doesn't mean I understand all the nuances of the policy-"

"Sir, this thing is a travesty, How much did the someone pay to get this peace of filth passed as a peace treaty? This thing explicitly has a clause that forbids any legal action with regards to mercenary behavior during the war? This thing explicitly suggests the Massacres of the Keres system as justified"

"Sailor, we aren't politicians. We are soldiers and-

"They fucking tortured children before killing them, Admiral! Those kids were choking on bloody gas for hours! And they didn't even find any Rebels! The sick fucks were just able to get some entertainment! You know as well as I do that that was a fucking travesty that only didn't get more attention because the war was going on. Don't fucking tell me we are still playing politics! Still Ignoring Tragedies!"

"The empire is about to come apart, We needed peace."

"So then why did we push for amnesty for the most terrible war crimes, Admiral! Which fucking terms did we compromise on so that we could put that travesty into the peace document!"

"Its more complicated-"

"Don't fucking tell me that. You know the SRA was gunning for some kind of punishment for the rumored war crimes, so what did we do to make sure that didn't bloody happen?"

"Lieutenant Carlile-"
"Lieutenant Carlile, we needed peace, and we needed to trust the experts to get it done. We are soldiers. WE are not politicians. You need to understand the difference and learn to get out of the way and-"

"Sir, you are my mentor, but this is against everything you have taught me and the other officers. Weren't we supposed to keep to a code. To not sacrifice our morality and-"

"Carlile, I told you not to forget your code. We both know the world isn't kind enough to allow us to never do anything wrong but-"

"Sir, this treaty explicitly asks us to look the other way. To forget the crimes those mercenaries committed; Hell, to forget the crimes that some Earth Directorate generals committed! Why didn't you speak up?"

"BECAUSE WE ARE SOLDIERS! ...Because we are soldiers, and our expertise is in warfare.

I trust the senator to do her job right. We are the people that use force, and when we try to stick our nose where it doesn't belong, we suffer. I taught you to conduct yourself with integrity while at war, but I certainly didn't teach you to extend your own selfish expectations to everyone else and-"

"Sir, why the fuck is it selfish to expect every damn general to keep to the rules of war? Why the fuck is don't do war crimes such a high unfair bar!"

"YOU IDIOT! You want your bloody final lesson from me! Then listen! You will have your job to do and that is the only damn thing that matters. The second you poke your head out of your role, you will find yourself demote so quickly you won't have time to ask why.

You are a soldier, and you will do your duty! Now get your fucking head out of the bloody sky and stop damn thinking you're some sort of fucking squeaky clean politician. Life doesn't fucking work that way. Instead you are bloody here to do the jobs that others can't and you will bloody your hands. All I've fucking taught you is not lose yourself while you carry out your duty, to not become some sort of blood-loving corporate goon.

Are you happy now! You have nothing else to learn from me! You just need to get it through your fucking head that you just have to do your duty and nothing more!"

"...

Yeah, I got it....

But my Fucking duty is to more than just a set of orders. I am a protector for humanity, and I will not stain myself with the lies you tell yourself. I swear, right now, I will do my duty and I will turn out to be nothing like a coward like you!"

"If you insist on being an idiot, then you don't need to throw my failure to educate you in my face. Get out of here. You have a command to oversee...

And best of luck living with your naïve optimism. I hope you learn better soon"

The 6th corporate war marks a major turning point in the corporate war period of history. By far the longest corporate war, this corporate war exhausted the materials and armies of the Earth Directorate, the Mercenary Corporations, and the Anti-Corporate Rebellions.

This war would bring the Earth Directorate to the brink of collapse, and would force a period of reform, where the Directorate would finally push back against Corporate influence. During this period, several laws and protocols were shifted to more sensible standards, rather than the artificial and archaic practices of earlier eras, which had been a symptom of the exorbitant corporate corruption.

Similarly, the war would completely overhaul the political and military policies of several corporations. Gone were the days of Corporate infighting, where corporations attempted to use governments and rebellions to weaken corporate rivals. With the destruction of at least two significant holdings boards, as well as several other more minor regional corporations, Most business decided to forego their corporate rivalries in exchange for ensuring control. Seditious elements were taken far more seriously after the end of the 6th corporate war, and all major holdings companies began building their own fleets and armies. While the Earth Dominion focused on internal policies, the Corporations began to militarize. Throughout the succeeding corporate wars, these corporate militaries would take a larger and larger role in putting down rebellions, with a full 80% of military forces by the end of the 9th war (up from 30% of forces during the 5th corporate war). Even worse, along with this new more aggressive stance against rebellions, new more destructive protocols and practices were enacted by corporate military forces. Corporate military forces featured an increasing willing to enact any form of war crimes, from use of nukes to bioweapons on innocent populations.

Unfortunately, many of the rebellious factions also received deep scars from this war. While in general, this war would briefly popularize several anti-corporate movements, such as the Communism and Syndicalism, it would also lead to more permanent rifts within the anti-corporate alliances. The Inclusive Independence Alliance (formerly the Socialist & Revolutionary Alliance) would permanently form a wedge between the Technocratic and Conservative rebellious elements from the Syndicalist and communist ones. The following Corporate wars would would often feature the rebellion splitting between several different factions. Rarely would larger coalitions form, which could unite the disparate political groups. The large coalition fleets and their battles were a thing of history, and often each faction would fight (and often die) alone.

Overall, the end of the 6th war marks a shift in the manner these wars were conducted. While before, larger and larger rebellion coalition fleets formed to face increasingly large and dangerous Earth Directorate fleets, now individual rebellion factions would often face progressively militarized corporate security forces, which increasingly relied on weapons of mass destruction.

This of course, would be exemplified in the small border conflict in 2345...

AN: Anyways, I hope you enjoyed the ride, and Thank you @Cyberphilosipher for letting me write this backstory for the end of the 6th corporate war

Sanjar looked at the hustle and bustle of Steller Bay from his balcony as he observed the city.

The Steller Bay Newspapers, The MSI's "Workman's Crier" and Socialists' "Eternal Flame" have been heckling each other for the better part of a week now.

The Factories hummed along with the smell of salt, preservatives and shaped tin and iron.

And the occasional outsider, be it a homesteader or a big game hunter. You've seen some Rangers loitering around, but they kept to themselves.

And while you didn't have an official police, the Security forces and Union Malitas seemed to be getting along on their rounds.

So far, nothing was going wrong.

Success did that to people, even with the issues of the Blockade, and like Canids and Manteswarms and the god-awful smell from the sulfur pits…life moved on.

You opened the door and walked to your desk.

"Now…Lets make more progress." You said.

Diplomacy
You have 2 Diplomacy AP

[]Meet the Neighbors (Monarch Rangers): The Monarch Rangers, An Enigmatic Band of Ex-Earth Directorate Soldiers playing at being the Defender of the Wild Frontiers of Monarch, for a price and support. While you've never trusted them in any capacity when things were normal...in these troubled times they've put their money where their mouth is...you think. Cost: 2 AP, Chance of Success: 30%, Successes Needed: 2. Reward: form an unofficial alliance with the now former Directorate forces, until the situation stabilizes, and either the directorate regains control and rescinds this crazy evacuation order, or the Board officially loses any powers it holds to enforce its blockade over the planet. Extreme success, or capturing the nomads alive will allow you to formally recruit the rangers into your forces.

[]Meet the Neighbors (Shadow Defence Force): Colonel Jiang Anders of the Shadow Defence Forces, the only thing notable about him is he had the dubious honor of being one of the last ground commanders of Shadow to Surrender to the Halcyon Expedition when it went to relive the Corporate Forces of Shadow. Now he's sitting on Monarch...planning and plotting, against whomever makes an enemy of him. Let's not be that enemy. Cost: 2 AP, Chance of Success: 40%, Successes Needed: 2. Reward: recruit commander Jiang Anders, and gain a boost to army quality, also possibly inherit any grudges the Shadow Colonel may still holds onto

[]Set up a Meeting (Glacial Age): Now being a Corporation, they don't exactly follow normal diplomatic protocol...you call and set a meeting and swap business and contact information...just like the good old days, back when you made trips to Byzantium to Smuggle Printing Equipment to Build the Union Infestructure. It's only been Three Years...god you're getting old and you're only 33! Cost: 2 AP, Chance of Success: 60%, Successes Needed: 2. Reward: gain access to more military and civilian tech. Gain option to buy necessary food, supplies, or weaponry. Possibility of Buying them out.

[]Check in on Starbrook Quarry: Best to call them and how they are doing...because clearly, they need some encouragement to go with their local supply runs...a little visit to check in if some work is needed can't hurt. Cost: 2 AP, Chance of Success: 80%, Successes Needed: 2. Reward: Strengthen alliance with Starbrook quarry and help rebuild/expand the town. Gain other rewards as a bonus if crit.

Research
You have 1 Research AP

[] Forget the stim, Use the Vats!: The board always pushed adreno healing stims, but your doctors suggest that there must be a more beneficial solution for heavy injuries with dedicated medical equipment. They have suggested Healing Vats, with controlled inputs of various specialized types of healing fluids and drugs in order to quicken recovery times and even possibly completely replace traditional medical techniques for certain injuries. They suggest that this should provide the means for more specialized care, especially with a smaller workforce. While some of your older doctors are lamenting this possible change, suggesting personal care from a physician is always better, even they admit that if this technology works, it would probably be the only real solution you could use to lighten the load on your overworked medical system. You just hope that this treatment won't end up having any unintended side effects if implemented. Cost: 3 AP, Chance Of Success: 40%. Successes Needed: 4. Reward: Medical Vat Technology researched and put into general circulation on Monarch (And Possibly Halcyon)

[] Elite Armor, Irreplaceable Armor?: The board has always been stingy with defense measures, especially on Monarch. It was always clear that they were giving your forces the cheapest weapons and armor you can buy. However, some lucky warehouse worker's ended up finding a single misplaced elite armor set, that you presume was supposed to be given either to more elite bodyguard units on Terra 2, or was supposed to be sent to the directorate forces. Either way, you have an example of elite armor, and your scientists are demanding the money and resources to research into how to recreate it, or even mass manufacture it. However, while this could be a great boon, you understand how volatile the research process could be, and you either might end up wasting the suit when you don't have the research tools available to properly study it, or you might end up finding some way to recreate this elite armor, that is unfortunately far, far too expensive for you to employ at this time. You need to be carefully, and cautiously consider whether this risky research is worthwhile. Cost: 3 AP, Chance Of Success: 60%. Successes Needed: 3. Reward: MSI Specialist Armor is created and added to the MSI Arsenal.

[] Mantiswarm Magic: Quite honestly, you had forgotten this project existed. This research was fairly cheap, and it kept some of your more brilliant researchers happy, by giving them a topic they liked that they could look into in between more important projects. But now, they have purportedly come up with a solid prototype design, and are asking for a significant funding increase to test and hopefully complete the design. Ultimately, while you do have some spare fighters for your airforce, these researchers are offering to design a significant improvement to your fighter wing, that can maintain the top speed of current designs, but significantly increase maneuverability, and even enable extreme maneuverability at low speeds (similar to hummingbirds or mantiswarms). Purportedly, they were able to merge-common fighter designs with the wing design of a mantiswarm, and somehow, it all works fine. If this research pans out, you could turn your planetary fighter wing into a ground support unit, and use it like an attack helicopter, in addition to its traditional role as a dogfighter. They even mentioned some preliminary attempts to replicate the plasma blasts that mantiswarms can purportedly spit out, although that seems ludicrously far from cost-effective considering current research findings. Cost: 4 AP, Chance Of Success: 60%. Successes Needed: 1. Reward: You make the "Mantiswarm Combat Package" to upgrade your fighters and possibly create new designs for the future.

[] Operation Vanderbelt: You wanted to strangle the man that came up with this logistically pipe dream and distracted so many of your researchers for decades... especially if this latest proposal doesn't work. The Vanderbilt project has been a long-standing project to investigate the construction of necessary infrastructure for Monarch. You loved the idea of using trains normally, and even you understood how terrible of an idea it would be to try and implement a standard transit or freight system would be, considering the very real likelihood for the earthquakes and sulfur pits to melt the tracks. This boondoggle of a research project, after decades of wasting money, seems to have finally come up with a feasible proposal that could finally tie all of Monarch together... but only if you believe the sweet idyllic promises of your researchers. They have proposed the Vanderbilt Cable Monorail system, which relies on a super-strong cable supported over 20 yards in the air by a dense tower network, out of the reach of the dangerous monarch fauna. Supposedly, this system will automatically detect when any segment of cable is somehow damaged despite this protection and will autonomously replace said track/cable segment within a couple hours, although you are a bit more doubtful on the capabilities of a robot marginally smarter than a Roomba being able to repair a high speed cable track in hostile conditions. Your researchers assure you that with proper funding, they can make this system work whatever disaster may end up ravaging the moon, and that the only real failure point will be the many towers that help shape and support the cable route, and house all the repair facilities and droids. However, you have the feeling that this long-standing problem might be a bit more difficult than these researchers realize, and that their few special tricks might not be enough to make this concept Monarch-ready. Cost: 4 AP, Chance Of Success: 30%. Successes Needed: 20. Reward: You organize, and finish, properly this time, ...Operation Vanderbilt on Monarch, without making a mess. Making it will be more difficult.

Stewardship
You have 2 Stewardship AP

[] Organize the Refugees: The Storm has passed, and the worst appears to be over, now is the time to reorganize who is left, and alive to build a future. There will be time to mourn so many in due time, but now we must focus on the problems of today not the pain of yesterday. Sanjar looks at the speech and sighed. "I only hope I don't come off as pushy…but things will get worse if we don't start today." Cost: 1 AP, Chance Of Success: 90%. Successes Needed: 1. Reward: You organize, and sort the Refugee's in Steller Bay into working citizens.

[]Organize the caravans: With so much of Monarch suddenly cut off from each other, you already know that most communities must be suffering. The board had tried to make each community fairly specialized, but with recent events, you know that the lack of self sufficiency across Monarch is now a gaping weakness that effects so many people. Unfortunately, it will be difficult to restart trade, with all the dangerous wildlife, and everything else that has happened. And yet it isn't impossible. If you can free up a fair amount of firepower, and use them to guard a massive caravan that will wind its way across Monarch, its possible to restart trade, to a certain degree. It will be like your current logistics trade convoy system, but even bigger. It won't be the most efficient trade system ever, but it should ensure that all the local communities are kept afloat with the supplies they need, and should help invigorate your economy to a certain extent. Cost: 1 AP, Chance Of Success: 50%. Successes Needed: 1. Reward: You organize, trade caravans to work towards the remaking of your economy.

[] Reclaim the spaceport: Ever since the chaos of the Amber Heights Massacre, the Aristov Shipyard/Spaceport has been abandoned as it as become useless due to the blockade. However, now that Sanjar is establishing some semblance of control over the planet again, perhaps its worth taking the spaceport (and giving a place for smugglers to land, especially the many criminals who see a huge payday for bringing in basic food and supplies)? Or perhaps the Board will see Sanjar's obvious attempt to set up a smuggling port and call down orbital bombardment before. Cost: 2 AP, Chance of Success: 50%, Successes Needed: 2. Reward: Establish a smuggler's port under your control or failing that give those Sublight Bastards another tentacle that you can use as a lifeline to the outside, and gain access to more foods and supplies if necessary and sell. unlock the option to contact weapons smugglers and exterior factions in the future.

[] Give them a Smile!: Perhaps its time to be more than a pencil pusher to the rest of Monarch. You will never be the most charismatic, but perhaps you should actually start being a public presence within the community itself. They are not just your employee's they are your people.
Cost: 3 AP, Chance of Success: 90%, Successes Needed: 2. Reward: increased loyalty towards Sanjar directly, and increased likelihood that the city council will give positive missions for Sanjar to complete, and expand his public profile on Monarch...and in turn Halcyon itself.

[] Subsidize Research!: Kazimir Zhukov of the city council has suggested that MSI send more funds and supplies toward the Monarch Field Campus. He suggests such an initiative would allow for far more research to be available for purchase. Of course, Zhukov reminds Sanjar that this is just sending extra supplies and that the university won't be obligated to send any of its research to Sanjar unless he properly pays for it. Sanjar also recognizes that none of the research there is guaranteed to be exclusive either, meaning outside parties could potentially buy it. Of course, it should be easy for you to leverage your support to get this measure passed in the city council, but the question is whether you would want to. Cost: 1 AP, Chance of Success: 90%, Successes Needed: 1. Reward: At least 2 additional options in the research category next turn

[] Reliability is everything!: Emmeline Kraus.... is being somewhat reasonable today. Apparently, she is willing to forego contesting the military budget and abstain on such votes as long as you support her massive infrastructure project, which is intended to diversify the diet (and nutritional content) of Monarch meals and build in extra reliability towards the life support systems necessary for the colony. Of course, she is asking you to commit towards a massive project at the worst possible time, but her lack of opposition to your proposals should open up additional possibilities for military spending. Cost: 3 AP, Chance of Success: 80%, Successes Needed: 6. Reward: Greatly lower the likelihood that any disasters will outright cause either food or supply problems. In addition, for 3 turns, increase the AP for military actions by 1, and give 1 additional military option.

[] Health, HealthCare and the Life Insurance of both: Cemre Ayvas is begging for your support of her socialist agenda. On paper, she has made a proposal for comprehensive universal health care, necessitating the expansion of the healthcare system, and the permanent allocation of significant resources towards luxury of monthly, comprehensive, compensated health checkups, in order to avoid any health complications from work. Of course, she hasn't offered anything in exchange explicitly, but you can tell she is weirdly desperate, and something is off. Its rare for her to come to you for anything (she'd rather yell at you for not doing enough), and it leaves you wondering if there is more to this request than meets the eye. Cost: 3 AP, Chance of Success: 60%, Successes Needed: 2. Reward: more comprehensive health care system. Due to the resources allocated to this, lose 1 total AP permanently. gain ???

Intrigue
You have 1 Intrigue AP

[] Hot on his trail!: Graham and his band of iconoclasts have supposedly been busy, ever since they tore monarchs apart with their defection. Graham is certainly not someone to avoid controversy, and you are already hearing stories about his supposed actions. In times like these, with so many different crises, its easy to lose track of a few things. But Graham is far too dangerous to leave unattended, and it would be a mistake to not keep track of his location. You still have some idea about where he's been, and if you send someone to follow his tracks, you are sure you can follow his little band of radicals wherever they may try to hide. Cost: 2 AP, Chance Of Success: 45%. Successes Needed: 3. Reward: You organize a search for the Iconoclasts and their band.

[] Data Breach: The board and their fleets continue to float around the planet, attempting to secure their blockade. By all rights, they should be able to bombard you to oblivion, but the fleet above hasn't made any move or action. Its beginning to look more and more suspicious. And now, some of your more intrepid programmers and hackers are suggesting something insane. Instead of waiting around until the board gets their act together, they are suggesting trying to hack one of the communication arrays aboard the board fleet, in order to figure out what the board is up to off planet. The plan is incredibly risky, and there's no guarantee they will be able to even upload the virus to one of the warships above, let alone receive a data transmission or two about the state of the system before the virus is scrubbed from their systems. And yet, you know just how valuable information is. And you know just how risky it is to continue to remain blind about what the board may be doing. Cost: 5 AP, Chance Of Success: 15%. Successes Needed: 5. Reward: You send your men to hack the blockade fleet and somehow make an eye into the wider story of Byzantium and Terra 2 and Unlock the Fair Dealer Fleet Rumor Mills.

[] In the Kingdom of Monarch's Many Eyes: Monarch's Old Internal Communication Arrays are to put it bluntly, a mess, you can barely tune in and find anything related to useful information in this day and age…but you have to try, with the Broker being considered a last resort due to his "Network Neutrality clause". Now you must summon the Programmers and IT engineers to cut the static and the Noise to finally see what the hell is going on in this cursed planet. Cost: 5 AP, Chance Of Success: 60%. Successes Needed: 5. Reward: You organize and rebuild your connection to Monarch's Spy Satellites. (Unlock Monarch Rumor mill)

[] Pirating Aetherwaves and other signs of Civility: Helena, a moon of Eredonos and known to many as the "Black Port" of Halcyon, is filled with Contractors and other lesser sorts, not free like the Groundbreaker, but not wholly helpless to the Board like many other parts of the Colony. The Haven of Contractors who couldn't make it fully on the Board's Dime left to be the errand boy's to an uncaring colony. Perhaps and with some Luck, you can get something resembling information and a deal could be struck for something…anything at this point. The problem now is getting a smuggler to get the message out, and make the deal. Cost: 4 AP, Chance Of Success: 35%. Successes Needed: 4. Reward: You get a network of information on Helena, and by consequence, the entire "Eridonos Corridor" (Gain the Eridonos Corridor/Social Revolutionaries Rumor Mill)

[]Sanjar Nandi and the Case of the Missing Admiral: It was times like this that Sanjar missed Mirai Fisher, she was the only one who seemed to have a good head on her shoulders and the only one that didn't have a demerit on her Performance Review (Even if the Rumor of Bribery hounded her or years), you could use her advice...her resolve. Wait...where the hell even is she Cecilia Find Hiram, you have a personal request. Cost: 3 AP, Chance Of Success: 25%. Successes Needed: 4. Reward: You get a network of information on "The Tesla Tales Spy Network" and can Find Admiral Mirai. (Gain the Tesla Mutany Rumor Mill)

[]Breaking Ground on the Groundbreaker: Ahh the Groundbreaker, the Womb that sprung the Colony into existence and the only place free from the Board's grip...mostly because they still had all the equipment to BUILD the colony at the time and Spacers being Spacers hated the Corps to begin with...to say nothing of the noted irony when you visited. Getting anything from a set of names to meet to an office in a shoebox in the Cargo hold would be enough for you as they have some real power, not to mention the Black Market it's Cultivated. Cost: 3 AP, Chance Of Success: 25%. Successes Needed: 4. Reward: You get a network of information on the Groundbreaker and a subscription to "The Ground Breaker Grinder" their local newspaper, quite the popular rag as it were. (Gain the Groundbreaker Rumor Mill)

Military Operations
You have 1 Military AP

[]MSI Security and YOU: By the Khalsa that Slogan is terrible, but we need to realize just what exactly our Military Assets are, organizationally, what equipment they have, force deployment patters...do they even have extra pairs of Socks? These are important. Cost: 1 AP, Chance Of Successes: 90%. Successes Needed: 1. Reward: You organize, and learn all of your Forces of MSI's Security Forces.

[] Pest Control: While you have been able to exert some control over rampaging animal fauna, it still hasn't completely controlled the recent chaos. Its clear that Mantisaur stampedes and Mega-Canid attacks will continue as long as the ecosystem is still disrupted and the populations of dangerous animals are still large.... which brings to mind a simple idea. Since you aren't actively using your military, perhaps it will be worth it to cut down the population of hostile creatures on monarch, and buy the colonists on the moon some breathing room. You are sure that people will appreciate this this measure to save civilian lives.... but it will mean significant casualties within your forces, and there is no guarantee that you will be able to end the conflict and blockade by Halcyon before these animals grow their populations and become a problem again. Cost: 1 AP, Chance Of Success: 50%. Successes Needed: 1. Reward: MSI Security Forces Go out and Play Big Game Safari Hunter.

[] Over that Blue Horizon: Your sailors are getting antsy, and perhaps it is time to give them something to do. You know that Halcyon publicly claimed that there was nothing of worth out in the ocean, or on any of the islands you know to exist. However, perhaps you should send your ships to explore, especially since its unlikely they will come across anything that can hurt them. Cost: 1 AP, Chance Of Success: ??%. Successes Needed: 2. Reward: You organize, and explore Monarch's Coastal areas. (Roll for encounter with low likelihood of a positive or negative events)

[] Into the Untamed Wilderness, We Go!: With the recent events of Amber heights, you understand the rest of the moon has become a dangerous place to exist. And yet, so many of the resources and machinery you need is outside of Stellar Bay. Instead of hiding in your city, perhaps it is time to send out your soldiers and emery to explore and loot the materials and machinery you need. You know there are people out there, doing who knows what to the remnants of civilization, to that ever important machinery and factories that humanity will need to survive on the moon. Before some of the crazies (who have pooped up in light of recent events) can destroy everything MSI and humanity needs to survive, perhaps its time to secure those resources yourself. Just be aware that the outside world is dangerous, and even if you find what you are looking for, you may have to sacrifice people to retrieve it. Cost: 1 AP, Chance Of Success: ??%. Successes Needed: 1. Reward: Your forces go off to scavenge what is left of the Planet. (Roll for encounter with high likelihood of positive and negative effects)

[] Hunt the Nomads!: Now that you have more information about who attacked Starbrook quarry, it's time to follow the leads and ensure they don't get away with this. Of course, you have to try and bring them in alive, and you do know they have a disproportionate amount of heavy weaponry that will make any assault hell. All this means you need to focus on finding them, and scouting their forces first, before you commit to any assault. Of course, it should be easy, now that you know who you are looking for, right? Cost: 2 AP, Chance of Success: 80%, Successes Needed: 2. Reward: Find the Nomads who assaulted Starbrook quarry. Gain the option to assault their camp. Possibly gain more information about how this troop stole Ranger weapons, and why the rangers are interested in them being brought in alive.

AN: Hopefully the Plans flow and you have a great time…because these are very long…

Also the first turn was basically set up…LETS ROCK AND ROLL!
