I really don't think we should look for other nuts. I would much rather deal with these soldiers now. Even if they find the entrance here they don't know about the moss. If they catch us going back into the tunnels though, after we're done with the nuts, they might be able to follow us.

The way I'm feeling this, Vashti would try to avoid violence (because violence is disturbing, she has rarely dealt it herself, and she is still shaken by the death of a strange and twisted spirit), and after her talk with Tala she would want to rely on the friend with whom she just bonded - likely too heavily, likely expecting too much of one who is just a girl in the monastery who talks to an imaginary parrot - and this is likely to fail. And failure will lead to the necessity of violence.
But this, in itself, is a valuable if sour lesson. Or so I think, anyway.

I was tempted to pick letting Tala try, because that seems like it could go hilariously wrong in a very interesting way, but I find it harder to imagine Vashti choosing to do that.

I think that telling the soldiers there's something in this area is a bad idea.
That being said, I also suspect that all these options ultimately lead to us fleeing a monastery in flames, swearing to defeat the forces of evil that destroyed our home. I mean, come on, that's clearly what's being set up here - we are a hero after-all
