Agent of the Dark Gods: Papa Nurgle Loves You! (Warhammer 40k)

[X] Obtain more test subjects when the chance arises in the future.
-[X] Limit it specifically to prisoners who would have been slated to be executed anyways. This is simply making better use of resources. And a lot less likely to come up on an investigation.
[X] "These gangers spent their lives preying upon their fellows, taking lives for their own gain, and stealing resources meant for everyone. It is only right that they spend their deaths bettering the lot of their community, to give back what they can in what we can learn from the studies."
-[X] "Furthermore, think about the great difficulties in pathology studies. Animal studies are inaccurate, they don't demonstrate the same symptoms or react to the same drugs, only a loose approximation. Gathering the already infected from the population misses out on the crucial knowledge of the incubation period and early symptoms. Asking for volunteers would be a most heinous waste of innocent lives."
-[X] "So we use criminals, those who are to die for their sins upon their fellow men. Their death is already inevitable, whether to the Arbites, to their fellows, or to a greater good."
-[X] "People are dying out there, because we cannot identify how to detect a disease before it becomes deadly. The pox spread so quickly, partly because people did not know what the early stages look like, and they spend a great deal of time hiding these signs for fears of being purged. To be kind to the innocent, the guilty will suffer in their stead."

I WHOLEHEARTEDLY AGREE WITH THIS LOGIC!

I mean, think about it. By collecting test subjects from death row prisoners, we can easily learn how to recognize diseases early on, allowing us to judge whether or not Nurgle would look on us favorably for 'treating' it. AND, the fact that most of the prisoners would be sentenced to death would mean we would be able to test more severe/lethal pathogens without raising any legal suspicions.

"There will doubtlessly be more of such sinners in the future, if they can help the needy/deserving and be responsible for the betterment of society as a part of their redemption, their punishment can then instead be seen as a noble pursuit."

At some point we really have to convert the hospital staff. Problem, though, is how do we go about it?

DC13 -1 -3 = DC9

Single Omake bonus for a -1 or -2 would push this to pretty decent odds of success. Going from 27.77% to 41.66% and 58.33% respectively.

Secretly desecrating the hospital might also lower the DC as the Emperor won't be able to respond to their prayers as effectively while Nurgle's soft touch could make the staff more open to his word. But that's even more risky if we haven't converted the hospital staff yet.

We could always try to infect them with a non lethal disease that makes it so that they cant escape and then we can try to turn them when they are at that state.
What, infect people just to force them to turn to Nurgle? What kind of insane imperial cultist do you take us for!?

Nurgle is the God of Compassion and Brotherhood whose followers without a doubt are all good people that would only recruit people by offering them a helping hand. Definitely.

Hit them with a slippery slope. For instance, if this one Sister here does not report the borderline illegal plague experiments and in fact helps us with it as she has been, that makes her culpable and more accepting of further violations against imperial creed.

We take advantage of the plague and overfill our wards, or stretch thin the medications, treating more people at the risk of allowing the plague to continue to spread. We ask for help we know will not come, that the only answer is to endure until Nurgle offers a thread of salvation.

We expand our martial presence, 'helping' the Arbites take back the hive from the gangs, possibly setting up isolated local clinics which are staffed by only a couple of our people each, and we can corrupt them in private as they have to make do with inadequate water supplies and never enough drugs.

I.e. by the time we ask them to join Nurgle officially they'd have already joined in spirit months ago.
Finding a relatively sane sorceror would be a pretty high priority though.

Yeah, that's gonna be tricky, considering that dabbling with the warp in as unregulated a manner as chaos sorcerers do, generally makes ya kinda bonkers. AND THAT'S IF YOU HAVE NIGH-UNHEARD OF LEVELS OF GOOD FORTUNE!

We would probably need to have a traitor marine sorcerer to realy have a sane and skilled one, but thats never going to happen as a CSM would never take orders from us.

Eh, we need relatively sane is all. No need to be entirely stable, just stable enough not to explode if unattended
