I'm so tempted by Newest York, but I honestly like this one better.

City Building: Society Part 1
All Hail Warren City.

Warren City is our home.

Its spires are the culmination of our knowledge.

Its people are its pride.

By thought and progress, we shall be reborn anew.

Hail Warren City- Our Home.

-Inscription under the statue of Dr Keyes at Memorial Park

Yes, Warren City. It's a glorious city-filled with so many technological advancements and marvels the world have never seen before. You'd think the naming committee would be stuck on it for a long time, but at the final day , again Dr Veekie came up straight. "Why not Warren City?" he said, to the committee. "Why not name it that, since most of us will be living underground anyways?" Some disagreed, and some abstained from making any decisions. Some just went with whatever the flow was going. And thus, after deliberation Dr Victor Keyes had the honour of officially opening the city on July 4th, 2166. Considering his contributions to both scientific advancement and the city itself, it's no wonder they built a huge statue of him in Memorial Park.

Whaddaya mean you can't see it? It's right there- the statue of a guy in a white labcoat pointing the way forwards! It's like a giant billboard sign! And they even have something written on it as well, but I don't have time to explain that. Just go take a look for yourself!

But one thing I must tell you about is that Dr Veekie isn't the only one who contributed towards the city. They say that the citizens of the city are a source of pride. They're goddamn right! All of the new fangled techs come from the think tanks that work and study in our city. People come from all over the world to do research and development in our city. Institutions like the New Rutherford Institute and New Miskatonic University are prize centres of learning as people scramble to regain back knowledge so to improve and avoid such disasters like The Event again.

Yeah, and that's why they are so many people in Warren City nowadays. From all ages to all races, they come in droves. But I bet you're curious, right? You might be asking, what kind of people live in the city and what kind of structure in exists on? Well, wonder no more. Let's get down to brass tacks, shall we?

The first thing we gotta touch on is the societal make-up of the city. Now you can see all sorts of people here at Warren. But if you look closely, you can see that there are some whose amount are much more dominant than the others. What caused this? Well, you do remember that I say people migrated to Warren in droves to find a living. These include refugees, homeless, out of work dudes and survivors. They're made up of many denominations but the most you can see around here is....

(OOC: Pick the top three ethnicities of the city. Note that these just represent their numbers in the population and nothing more.)

[ ] Caucasian (North American & Others)
[ ] Caucasian (Slavs & Slavic Countries)
[ ] Middle Eastern (Arab & Levantine)

[ ] Pacific Islanders

Yeah, so those are the largest in number, if you care to count. Then again with Warren City being a melting pot of cultures, you can expect the demographics to change sometime in the near future. More and more people are coming in everyday and making a new life in our city!

With many people making their home in our city, it's inevitable that new things and ideas will pop up from outta nowhere. As we exchange ideas, we get to broaden our perspective and develop new interesting ideas on things.Chief of which is religion. Most old religions have survived post Event and there are still people practicing them-like Islam, Buddhism, Christianity and so on. Since the city's mostly focused on academic and research though, the focus remains more on rationalism and new scientific thinking to lead the way forwards, and as such there's no concerns on this.

But like I've mentioned before, exposure to different people leads to all sorts of interesting ideas. There are a couple of new religions arising up from post-Event. A lot of them are in the form of small cults and soothsayers, some have even adopted practice of spirit worship like ancient times. Have you seen the new movie by director Day Shaymalan, that little thriller about the cultist turned serial killer called "Path of Blood" that's the rage lately? No? Then go get yourself a ticket, I hear the movie's to die for!

Ahem.

Anyways all of them's pretty much accepted, some of them die and some new ones pop up but the one that's gaining most traction, that's turning heads right now are the....

[ ] Church of the Sun.
-Basically a collection of people who worship the Sun. They wear red robes and they claim to appease the Sun so that it doesn't
wreck our shit again. Their motto:"Praise the Sun!" And why'd they have a guy wearing a knight uniform as their Head Priest?

[ ] Omnissiah Cult.
-Basically a collection of people who believe that everything that is named a machine has a spirit to appease. Often heavily augmented and look more like robots than humans, they preach obedience to the Machine Spirit and champion the cause of transhumanism.

[ ] Brotherhood of Poseidon
-Basically a collection of priests who worship the ocean. Since most of our food and energy come from the sea, these are slowly gaining in following and is led by a charismatic orator that believe becoming one with the ocean is our true way of life. But why oh why do they need to wear piratey uniforms?

[ ] Cult of Gaia
- Basically, it's like if you put enviromentalism as a religion and crank it up to 11. Followers of this cult advocate extreme measures to punish "evildoers" that are caught polluting the environment without a good reason. They're lead by a very outspoken priestess.
