You That Remain

Character Sheet is up, but I have work, so vote closure will be waiting until after that's done.

[X] A Blade at your neck.
[X] Fall and Rise.

And so it begins

It would appear that we are in a Victorian era city, possibly a steampunk setting. It would also seem that our character has done several things that aren't exactly legal.
[X] A Whisper in your ear.
[X] Turn and Seek.

...Okay I'm not gonna say whether you're right or wrong here but... Explain?

I'm really curious as to how you drew that conclusion.

I'd figure that with the cobblestoned streets and the heavy rainfall, I'd figured Victorian era, the steampunk setting thought was more reflexive (far too used to things like that)

The illegal thing:
The sight of the light leaving the traitor's eyes.

Revenge...
That sorta made me think either military or gang organisation, I'm willing to bet gang seeing as we wouldn't still have our pistol if we were in the military.

Yeah, so that's my reasoning.

Hmhmhm... Interesting Theories, though they lose a little weight when you remember that where you are is a defiance of the laws of physics on several levels.

In any case, let's see that Tally~

Might as well break the tie.

[X] A Whisper in your ear.
[X] Two arms wrapping around your torso

A Stone and Man-Held Gate
[X] A Whisper in your ear.

"Are you okay?"

A woman's voice, tearful concern, eyes with colours you cannot name, out of place in this world, but her robes are white, pristine and spattered with blood.

Important...

A hand reaches for you, then flinches back.

The voice distorts, becomes incomprehensible, fades and fades and fades until it is gone.

She is gone.

You are gone.

Running out of sensation...

[X] Fall and Rise.

You step forwards and gravity takes you, grips you as you join the rain in its endless descent. The pieces of cityscape whip by.

It is a long way down, and you do not know if there is even a bottom to hit.

Something is plucked into a frenzy by the passing air, and even sodden as it is, it whips against your calves.

They change from segment to segment. There, grey wooden huts, ramshackle and rain-soaked just like everything else. There, a thick wall, chunked across a dozen floating fragments.

There... A gate...

That you cannot bring yourself to panic as you fall towards that piece of city is more frightening than the fall itself. Something tells you that this is the sort of fall that nothing survives.

It hurts.

It hurts, and hurts, and hurts as you slam into the ground and roll, but at the same time, it hurts.

[] [Fall] It hurts because you're still here.
[] [Fall] It hurts because you're finally leaving.
[] [Fall] It hurts because you cannot remember.
[] [Fall] It hurts because you cannot forget.

You slowly pull yourself to your feet, and look back.

Away and far below, where you have been hangs in space.

Away and above, you can no longer see past the sheeting rain.

It is cold again, and you welcome sensation.

The rain falls...

A grey figure stands before the gate, a statue without a pedestal, a guardian, a monster.

[] [The Way] Gangly arms and shaking hands, young and frightened and clutching his sword.
[] [The Way] Sturdy legs and watchful gaze, a snow-capped mountain.

Interesting... I think we were on a giant chunk of floating city and just dropped off the edge onto another one?

The metaphors on the other hand are... Well...

For me to know and for you to figure out~
