There had been a certain tension in the air of the Red Chamber after Nemo had had that... disagreement with her Mistress. While no direct order was given, it was clear that the Diez Espada wanted some time alone. The Red Chamber was a big place, and not all rooms had been repurposed when they moved in. Or back in, in the new Espada's case.

Still the point was, there was plenty of spaces for Nemo to seclude herself away. Which she had. In a room that just so happened to be as far away from her Mistress as possible. Alone, with her only company being her blade and the medical supplies Esmeralda left behind.

Nemo paused at the thought of her friend and wondered how she was doing. She should be alright in the human world, right? Perhaps she should go and check if she's still alive doing okay. But that could wait. She had work to do now.

With a breath, Polilla was slowly removed from her sheathe. As the blade was fully drawn, Nemo felt herself hesitate. Why was she stopping herself? She had cut off her arm to feed the spider. So why couldn't she do it now? Perhaps, because that was something she did in the heat of the moment? Desperation born of panic. Or panic born of desperation? Regardless, she currently found it harder to preform self mutilation then she did back then.

But this was something that she had to do. Something she needed to do. Cirucci wanted to keep soaring higher and higher. But the higher you go, the farther you fall. And Nemo had a duty to make sure her Mistress survived that harsh landing, whenever it comes. To make sure the Thunder Bird would be able to rise through the sky again.

The Sexta Espada once asked her: How far would she go for her Mistress? When things looked rough, would she simply run away, or would she risk life and limb to aid Cirucci? Nemo liked to think she had an answer to that now.

So, with another breath, the moth steeled her resolve and drove her blade into her own flesh.

----

So, yeah. Suddenly had this little idea pop into my head.

Thought the Descorrer worked by opening up a hole in the dangai? And the dangai was some weird not-dimensional place that is horrible.

That's pretty much how I understand it.

Soul Reapers use magical portal thingies to open a gate to the between-world, then traverse that between space, then gate out at the other end.

Hollows use native powers to do the same thing, but because it comes natural to them, it's a lot simpler. They open a portal, step between, open another portal, step out.

But can't say I certain of those metaphysics, and it may be different for quest purposes anyhow.

They don't travel through the Dangai to go between worlds. Instead of going into the Precipice World (the Dangai) and then into whatever world they want to go to, they go to those worlds via Gargantas - passageways which connect directly between worlds - which they open with Kumon (in the case of regular/Menos Hollows) or Descorrer (in the case of Arrancars). They are visually distinct with the Dangai looking like this and Gargantas looking like this.

Were it that Hollows had to pass through the Dangai first before emerging into the Human World, the Gillian we see early in Bleach would not have appeared as it would've been destroyed by that weird spirit train thing.

Also, Soul Reapers do not travel through the Dangai either. To travel between worlds, they use the Senkaimon which also directly connects worlds and in doing so bypasses the Dangai, though they require Hell Butterflies in order to travel through it. Without the Senkaimon, many of the incredibly mookish Soul Reapers that the organisation is filled with would die just getting to the Human World.

Went with this because our support skills have been very useful and this levels up two of them and we I am doubtful that we can level up Sonido or Reatisu control (the two skills I think we need to level up the most at the moment) with omake XP before the next arc starts. Now if people do put forward enough XP to make leveling either of those up viable I would be willing to change my vote.

Going with the guinea pig option to insure that medicine levels up.

Witchy Woman

---------------------

In truth, Sung-sun's offer was too tempting not to take up. The Witch Ways? A type of magic you had never touched, different even from the Marana you learned from Alphonse? How could you resist? Learning was, really, one of your true, unvarnished pleasures in unlife. Learning Style, learning to sew, you were even making rapid progress with the medical tools you acquired from the infirmary after Esmerelda no longer had use for them...and each one had paid dividends, too. Everything had a use. Learning Sung-sun's craft seemed an obvious extension of that.

And it was affordable. The asking price was the sale of a soul, but you weren't a human, after all. You had a lot of souls; one would hardly be missed.

Things weren't turning out exactly like you expected, but you tried to keep an open mind.

The clothing, for instance. You were pretty sure that witches wore pointy hats and dramatic, tattered, shapeless black robes. They flew around on broomsticks. (You were really looking forward to that part, actually!)

Sung-Sun was dressed in black, but it was not a robe. And it was, well, extremely shaped. Sung-Sun shaped. You're not exactly sure what the logic was behind combining a skin-tight, leg-baring leotard with a ruffled shirt and a tailed jacket, although she pulled it off well enough...

"Don't think too hard about it," Emilou suggested. "You know that she was a giant snake as an adjuchas? The main reason she broke her mask was so she could have legs again. She just dresses like that to show 'em off."

"Pay no attention to my lovely, but dimwitted, assistant," Sung-sun ordered. "While it is true that most people take legs for granted, this is the traditional garb of the magician! Into the mysteries of whom you shall now be initiated!"

"I'm doing this because I lost a bet," Emilou clarified. She was wearing a bright red dress covered in sequins. "And if you tell anyone, I'll be forced to beat you up. Fair warning."

Sounds reasonable. You suppose, if it comes down to it, you'll just call in Mila Rose's offer and have her beat up Emilou for you, first.

"She wouldn't do that! You wouldn't do that, would you Mila?"

"I guess I'd have too, wouldn't I?" Mila called from her seat in the corner, where she seemed to find this tremendously amusing. "I mean, a promise is a promise, right?"

"Quiet in the audience! Magic requires the utmost concentration!" Sung-sun demanded, with a flourish of the stick she was holding. Besides the stick, her major accessories were a bow-tie, a tall, flat-topped hat, and a pair of very high heeled shoes. If she WAS dressing to make people aware she possessed legs, she was doing a good job of it. Actually, the whole outfit worked, in a showy way, although it might be improved. The cuffs on the jacket weren't quite the right length, and the waist could fit a little better. It wouldn't be hard really.

"You could do that? Alphonse won't work on anything besides uniforms for fraccion, I had to get this from...I mean, SILENCE! Behold, the power of MAGIC!"

With another showy flourish, Sung-sun produced some arcane implements and held them towards you. This was exciting.

"Now, take any card from the deck, without revealing it to me, memorize it, and then shuffle it back in..."
"Tricks are what Luppi does for money! I perform illusions."

@Omicron does ranking up our Marana also mean our items become powerful?

Yes, you will create more powerful new items. You'll also get another choice of items to craft.

You can't improve the items you already own yet, because they are actually above your current Marana level; they were made by Alphonse or with his help.

So out of curiosity why don't some of you all want to increase high speed regeneration? I figure it would be helpful in the coming times especially with the fact it combos well with medicine and well knowing us we might get in the fight of our lives soon. Since Cirucci plans to backstab Luppi I figure it would pay off to be really good at healing for ours and her sake.

We need to figure out a way to catch one of Cirucci's feather blades from her release form without Nemo cutting her own arms off in the process.

They're big enough to make a pair of wings for Nemo. This is contingent on doing that not permanently weakening Cirucci's resurreccion, of course.

I like HSR just fine, but the next stage is a lot of XP away.

I'd rather level up Marana first. Plus, I just like the idea that Marana is something Nemo enjoys and finds satisfaction in. It's a cool hobby for her.

So I'd rather use our coping activity on Marana, and just level up medicine with arc XP for now.

But if we take the medicine option we can skip a whole stage and be better prepared.

We just need to pump enough XP into medicine. We don't need to do the medical activity choice.

That's why my current vote is dropping enough into Marana, assuming that wins the activity vote, to boost it a level, and also 450 XP into medicine to get it up to Veteran.
