Ebon of Another World - Black Kingdom Spin-Off Quest [Worm/Original]

[X] Find a girl and give her the whole thing to make her your completely loyal subordinate.

[X] Consume it for immediate unlocking of some of your Original's power.

So Dinah or Vista?

Because Some of the shit here is OP, and I'd rather Jacob the second not get Ganked like a bitch.

[X] Find a girl and give her the whole thing to make her your completely loyal subordinate.
It gives quite a few benefits:
- A possible advisor. (or at least a semi-competent labor)
- A reliable source of information about local affairs.
- Assuming the girl keeps her civilian identity, an in in local (superhero) population (she could even join the Wards to infiltrate them)
-- I recommend not infiltrating Undersiders without mind wiping or other tricks- Tattletale will figure out there's a snitch otherwise.
-Considering the importance of reputation in Worm-werse, it's good to have a solid crew.
Huh, The Bay Bulletin. You've never heard of this Brockton Bay place before. It's dated the 2nd of April, 2011 so you're not only in an alternate reality but you're also in the past as well.
April 11, 2011 is the day Skitter fought Lung, and official start of her adventures.
That means there are 9 days before she meets the Undersiders, unless butterfly effect kicks in.
I'd love to hire or cooperate with Skitter eventually- she'll be the greatest advisor there ever was.
We'll just offer uplifting this entire city like Coil promised.

Better to be unknown.

This'd work up until we needed her to do anything, at which point the careful bureaucratic machine would notice suspicious similarities between the magical girl cape and the dark magical girl cape.

She's an edgy, depressed teenager. She wouldn't know the first thing.

If we absolutely had to, she could just wish for it instead, you know.

In advance, because I'd throw a light vote on this initiallly....

[X] Hang on to it. Maybe you'll find some other use for it or something.
-[X] Like find out your options, and set up some feeding stations without being killed or worse.

But in case we do end up going "get one OP ebon magical girl, we may not control", which might be pro/con better/worse than Wards et all...

[ ] Find a girl and give her the whole thing to make her your completely loyal subordinate.
-[ ] Ideally, find a girl whose at the worst moment of her life. From some bullying incident, or in the gutter. To be despairate enough to serve as a loyal "right hand" for the Ebon Empire.

Because sometimes, extended 'reasoning', can potentially be the difference, between getting an absolute loyal minion, a minion that may have just triggered, THEN Became a magical girl...

Or possibly even Taylor, if we somehow landed near a cliché school, somehow. :p

She's an edgy, depressed teenager. She wouldn't know the first thing.
She's also an intelligent, methodical, quickly developing protagonist with an amazing power.
Though you are right, I suppose. Right now she's mostly a traumatized teenager.

She could not use some of her powers while a Ward to appear as whole other parahuman.
That's assuming she's versatile and OP enough to pull that off.
This has added benefit of appearing... normal. 3 or more powers at once and you'll draw attention as someone as versatile and strong as Eidolon.
Of course that's more me trying to be clever than an actual solution. Better to get another MG and send her there full-time as a double agent. (assuming sufficient difference in their power sets)(or, you know, just a different minion)

She's not intelligent. You know, what with the whole trying to go undercover in the undersiders thing. The villain team with the thinker she couldn't prove wasn't psychic.

Why even bother infiltrating their teams? Easier to just build up in secret; as magi, rather than parahumans, we operate off of entirely separate scales and methodology.

I'll agree with the psychic thing- 20 foot pole is not enough for those bastards, confirmed or not.
However...
Her decision... it was thought out, at least. "High risk, high reward", as she said. That and many other of her decisions she did think through.
Also she was in general really effective in leveraging her and other's powers to great advantage. She was a capable leader in many, many situations, coming up with great solutions on the fly, bringing down multiple groups of far greater capabilities than hers.
She got down Rachel's dog-like psychology and was remarked as a person constantly analyzing her environment, understanding people around her.
She constantly invented new ways of using her powers and approaching dangers. Heck, even her debut wasn't that bad.
Also there is an alien fragment in her brain making her do dumb stuff, so there's that too.
She's not the most mentally stable, clear thinking or un-biased (the whole Dinah thing.....). Still, she is, if nothing else, an intelligent, thinking person.
...
Well, this hit a nerve. It was a trigger, you could say. :V

Infiltrating the Wards means it'll be possible influence them and/or gain inside info on them.
Also I forgot about Phantasm Seekers.(though some tinker-tech could detect them, also not sure if they can look into dark places or closed folders or computers inside their offices)

Well now, this is interesting.

Ugh, no. She wasn't handed a weak power that she turned powerful, she was handed an incredibly powerful ability with a bad reputation that explicitly and repeatedly went above and beyond what it purported to be.

She's on the low end of that. She's intelligent and thinking in the same way I am.

Scrying magic. They ain't got anything to work against it.

Cameras, maybe. Nothing else would work, because otherwise they'd be detecting the other energies of the soul, which they aren't.

[X] Consume it for immediate unlocking of some of your Original's power.
The orginal Jacob was a goddamn monster so having at least some of his powers would be more beneficial than a few magical girls or a powerful one.

[X] Consume it for immediate unlocking of some of your Original's power.

This setting is kind of known for being back stabby.

[X] Consume it for immediate unlocking of some of your Original's power.

Well, since my original choice seems to be unpopular, I'll change it to my backup to stay relevant.

If it's a choice between making one super powered minion or giving ourselves superpowers, I would rather focus on ourselves. It makes us far less squishy and avoids the thorny issue of TOTAL MIND CONTROL, in a world where mind control detection is a thing and highly frowned upon by the government.

@shibosho I couldn't help but notice that none of those unlockable powers you mention on the front page cover our ability to make minions. Is that unlockable later, or are you taking that ability out of the game?

Because if this is our one and only chance to make minions, that would affect my vote...

[X] Consume it for immediate unlocking of some of your Original's power.

If we were don't consume it, Clone!Jacob will need to consume other people's energy and that is just begging for a superhero intervention which we don't want as weak "fading in a week" Clone!Jacob.

Thanks for catching that. Added Life Maker (Locked) to the Character Sheet.
