[X]The Butcher's Gullet. An overcoat made out of subtly-layered clothes, its capacity is on par with the full robe of a Menos Grande. Though the fabric looks smooth, it's enough to pinch it to reveal seemingly endless pockets in which items disappear without a trace - although their size is limited by that of the opening.

On one hand, the first option looks amazing. On the other hand, POCKETS!
I always was a sucker for a good old bag of holding.

[x]The Cook's Shroud. A great cape which preserves anything that is fully wrapped in it, preventing from deteriorating or decaying. A great asset to a butcher wanting to preserve his food - or to a healer wanting to keep a dying person alive until they get to the operating table. Has very little use as a worn outfit, however, although if you wrapped yourself in it you could pass for dead.

Very situational, but I like it. Just out of curiosity, @Omicron, would that mitigate Barragan's power?

Seeing as he could just, you know, ax/crush us with spirit pressure if Respira failed I don't see how that truly matters.

Until Barragan's power dissolved the cloak itself.

That would go pretty quickly.

[ ]The Shedding Cloak. Infused with reiatsu, the cloak reflexively expands that energy outwards when another form of spiritual energy strikes it. This allows it to act as "ablative armor" against an energy attack, fraying its own fabric to reduce their damage. The cloak taps into your own reiryoku to reweave itself over the course of a few hours.

This is tempting because of the whole moth motif. Plus it probably goes best visually with our new or basic outfits

[ ]The King's Veil.
Designed as a frame which captures reiryoku and gives it the texture and feeling of Gillian reiatsu, this scarf can be pulled up to cover the face and allow its wearer to mask their energy as being that of a Gillian, either strong or weak and mindless. This allows them to pass among them unharmed, as well as to order them with the authority of a sentient Gillian. May also let one pass as weaker among very powerful beings.

It's a scarf! That automatically increases it's awesomeness factor by at least 2. But I'm just not sure about its functions though. It's sort of camouflage...but camouflage that works by making us seem like something that could still be seen as either food or a target by others in our own weight group and above. There's also the commanding Gillian aspect. It'll be useful if we want to hang out in the Gillian Forest a lot...or if we become pals with Wonderweiss and Hooleer. Otherwise not really?

It's a trench or great coat! Need I say more? Also pockets...lots and lots of pockets. We will never need to worry about where to store the things we filch ever again.

It was either this or the butcher's gullet and as much as I like a bag of holding, stealth is important.

Plus we were almost introduced to our Best and Oldest Friend

I'm torn between the Kings Veil and the Cook's Shroud.

The veil we could use to hide our true strength and command some giant mooks, and we get that moment of revealing where we go all 'behold, my TRUE POWER!' and then see all those shocked faces...

The shroud could help us save those with critical injuries (or the recently dead once Orihime shows up) and...well...

Until Barragan's power dissolved the cloak itself.

That would go pretty quickly.

Managing one killer attack way WAY down the road is a tempting prospect...I mean, it will only work for one good hit, but...

Argh, I can't decide!

Esmeralda is our friend and she's gonna get punched in half by yammy if things go the same.

Making a gamble that this might save our friends life. Also, i like the symbolism - we gained the power to preserve things from a mission for the Lord of Decay. It fits.

And playing dead might yet come in useful. As we can regenerate from any non-organ damage we could arrange for a pretty convincing death. Like, a small Arrancar lacking an arm and a leg under a bloody coat looks like Kenpachi came through earlier. Not an enemy.

Can't use it against Mayuri though, he would collect our corpse.

@Omicron, does it make our reiatsu "look dead" too, or do Arrancar just keep emitting their normal reiatsu after they start being a corpse?

Hrm, while I love me some Starmetal IRA, I think I'll toss my support behind the leader...
