Speaks Words of Wisdom... On occasion

Teeth clenching tight, with only a handful of heartbeats to her name, Audrey Eotenslaga furrows her brows, squares her shoulders, and casts herself into the veil of ignominy. The world blinks, losing track of Audrey for just a scant few moments.
...
Shock plays across the smallest ambusher's face as Audrey blinks back into the narrative, her shoulder already crashing towards him at a thunderous pace. He backpedals for just a moment before battle-born discipline reasserts itself and twin shields interlock in defense.
Armor clangs as iron strikes iron, rattling wood and buckling knees. The smallest ambusher grunts as he's knocked prone, his legs giving out under him, only for an open hand to snap out and for a blast of mud to leap from the empty palm.
Mud splatters across Audrey's hama as her head snaps back, shock and anger mixing as wrath stokes an endless flame. Instincts guide her legs as she slides away from a swishing blow meant to carve her tendons from her leg. Sunder swings in the blink of an eye, sending the sax crashing into the floor and leaving the swinger unbalanced.
What victories Audrey can claim are short-lived, for a thrown sax comes hurtling in the moment Sunder's motion opens up her guard. The iron edge cleaves away yet more of her precious hama, further robbing her of what advantages she has with every blade-stroke.
Dammit! Twice struck; once with mud, once with iron, yet equally as insulting to her pride. This cannot stand, this will not stand.
Teeth grinding together, iron-clad feet push off the ground as Audrey throws herself into a half-second charge. Black lightning coats her blade as she swings, the strike flying with all the speed of a raging bull, only for the off-balanced man to duck at the last moment and for Sunder's edge to bite naught but air.
Sunder strikes the ceiling, throwing out a shower of sparks as its hungry edge carves a clean arc through the iron. Resisting the urge to howl out her rage, Audrey bounces back as she casts herself once more into the realm o-
A spear-thrust comes hurtling for her head, her foes refusing her an inch of un-fought-for space, but Sunder catches the blow on its guard, redirecting the force up into the ceiling, where the spear-head finds itself biting deep of the iron.
Not even defending goes uncontested when one finds themselves at odds with over-many men, as Audrey swiftly learns when a sax-swing catches her on the leg, crushes through her hama, and the impact alone nearly sends her sprawling save for the intervention of her blessings.
Locking eyes with the wretch that dares to lay sax on her illustrious self, Audrey growls as her hama lashes out. Invisible to the naked eye, her hama lays a trap most nefarious. The next step he takes, he had better keep a careful eye on the ground upon which he steps!
The Norseman's ankle snaps like so much dry wood and a cry of pain slips his lips as he goes down, down like the dog he is. A deserving place for one such as he, yes, yet even her boots are too good for a filth-riddled worm like him.
Unfortunately, the sudden intrusion of a pair of charging Norsemen halt any further vengeance-taking as Audrey leaps back and away from their lashing blades. Once, twice does Sunder leap into action, deflecting and blocking each and every blow with vigor.
A flick of the wrist nearly robs a foe of his weapon, the loosening fingers drawing his attention and allowing Audrey to slip in close and grab him by the front of his shirt of mail. A yelp leaves his lips as, with a surge of flexing muscle, she hurls him bodily into the kinsman at his side. They go down in a crumpled heap, yet hardly does a heartbeat pass before they're up and on their feet once more, but still, the momentary abatement gives Audrey just enough time to claw a scant few precious feet from the grip of Hell itself.
Three steps back and an axe takes to the air. The francisca twirls as it flies, its head burying deep within the wood of a hastily raised shield. A hand gropes for the axe, fingers finding haft moments before a strand of hama-thread pulls taut, yanking the axe free in a shower of splinters.
The axe flies back through the air alongside a freshly charging pair of Norsemen. They rush forward, weapons at the ready, as a wave of twin-colored power washes across their beings. In the blink of an eye, they're on her like hounds upon a meat-laden bone.
Spears blur forward as Audrey's legs pump, carrying her backwards as the sole hand on Sunder's hilt desperately fends off a flurry of lightning-fast blows. One strikes up high, forcing Audrey's guard to follow it, while another slips low and demands a dodge to counter.
Again and again this pattern continues, the tempo increasing with each flowing repetition. Spear-heads draw ever-closer until the unthinkable happens. A blow to her legs scythes through her hama while a spear finds a home in her armor-clad shoulder, digging a deep groove into the iron.
Fuck!
A scream rips its way through her throat, tear her vocal chords to shreds as she lets loose a cry of rage, wrath, and unrelenting pride.
Audrey's hand snaps forward, the francisca leaps into action as her foes react with raised shields. Wood splinters as the impact drives home, sparks fly as iron axe meets iron boss and the shield finally fails, splitting down the middle in a show of snapping sound.
Wrapping her hand with invisible thread, a sharp flick of the wrist whips axe from shield and smashes it across a Norseman's jaw. Bone cracks, yet eyes glow with determination unrelenting.
Feet push off from the iron ground, launching Audrey back once more as her teeth grind ever-harder. This isn't working, that much is certain, and if it keeps up like this...
Audrey growls, forcing that thought from her head.
A flicker of motion at the edge of her senses arrests her attention, her Strandsense picking up an incoming crossroads with an all-too-unwelcome surprise.
The mud-bastard looms in the crossroads, having taken a back-path to get around her once more. With sax held high, he readies to bring it down on the back of her head—a goal that would never be met. Driving her foot into the iron, Audrey leaves a shallow crater in her wake as she suddenly pivots, throwing herself down a crossroad-born offshoot and away from the swinging blow of deadly sax.
Mud-bastard, to his credit, is fast on the draw as he immediately throws himself after Audrey with weapons held high and at the ready, his shield making the perfect target for a throwing-axe.
The francisca flies in a beautiful arc, yet the mud-bastard twists, throwing his shield to the side just as impact is made. His now-freed hand shifts forward, a glob of mud already leaping from his palm as Audrey's eyes spread wide.
The ball of mud blurs through the air, Sunder trying to bat it away to no avail. Audrey's head snaps back as mud splashes through faceplate and hama alike to find a home in her wondrous eyes.
Strandsense carries the day as the mud-bastard leaps into action, attempting to slip past her 'blinded' self. Audrey twists, following the motion as black-red lightning clings to Sunder's edge.
Sunder swings yet tastes nothing but air and iron as the mud-bastard drops to the ground, reflexes guiding where conscious thought fails. Audrey makes to advance, to vent her rage on this mud-spewing filth-magnet, yet the intrusion of his flea-bitten so-called allies makes mincemeat of those plans.
The mud-bastard scrambles to his feet as his allies engage. Saxes and spears dance with Sunder's cutting edge as the mud-bastard makes to slip behind Audrey's rear—a fate that cannot be allowed to pass.
But to turn and engage would leave her open...
Audrey grits her teeth and firms her brows. What is her armor for, then, if not for moments like this?
Twisting on the spot, saxes carve through hama and armor alike as Audrey turns to follow the mud-bastard's approach. The last of her hama darts out, wrapping around the bastard's leg, and a sickening crack fills the air as he drops to the ground, his broken ankle no longer supporting his weight.
What glee can be felt is short-lasting, for a hand darts out and mud flies free. Sunder shifts to block, yet the motion is much too slow, and mud sinks through armor and finds a home in her throat.
Audrey staggers, a hand darting to her face as anger stokes itself to a wicked flame. If this is to be her end... If this is the day of her demise...
Then she'll take that mud-bastard with her, that much she swears.
Black lightning crawls across her blade as she swings, yet mud hastens into action, forming a shield the stops the blow in its entirety. Again she swings, again does the mud hold, yet this time... this time the cracks are showing.
One more swing, one more swing to seal the deal.
Audrey draws back, ready and willing to throw it all away just to end the life of a tormenter.
The sudden intrusion of a shield's iron boss catches her off-guard, striking against her body and sending her flying through the musty air.
Sparks fly as iron strikes iron and she rolls to her feet an-
Crunch!
The hallway twists in on itself, sweeping up all inside save herself, and grinds all present into a fine pink paste.
Audrey stares at the now-sealed hallway, her heart hammering as she drops to her knees, a pool of blood leaking from the cracks in the iron.

Audrey Eotenslaga sits with her knees curled up to her chest, a warm blanket around her shoulders, and a hot drink clutched between her fingers.
That was- That was too close, much too close.
A knife's edge darts close and she screws her eyes shut and shivers, the memory fading like steam into the sky.
"God, if you're listening, please help me get through this," Audrey offers a quiet prayer, the little motion doing wonders for her sense of self. Her shoulders relax as her breathing steadies, the embrace of God warming her soul.
A knock on the door wrenches Audrey from her thoughts; it's Reinald.
"Come in," Audrey whispers as her master and mentor steps into the room.
Sir Vieux sports a few more strands of gray in his beard since last Audrey saw him, the stresses of the tournament taking their toll. His eyes still shine, however, and so she knows that he'll be there for her, no matter how much 'being there' entails.
After a few moments of silence, Reinald begins to speak, "You know, Audrey, Ironjaw was very impressed with how hard you fought and so wants to reward you. I know-" He takes a breath, "I know that won't help with how you're feeling. Whenever you're ready, to talk, I will be too."
Audrey nods, taking a deep breath of her own, "T-thank you, Sir Vieux."
He smiles, "Please, we're peers now, call me Reinald."
Pride flutters in Audrey's heart, banishing the thoughts and fears of the past, present, and future. She, Audrey Eotenslaga, is a peer to a Knight of the realm like Sir Reinald Vieux!
Damn straight.

After taking a moment to consider what to offer you as a reward, Ironjaw has decided to offer you the opportunity to ask him a question. Ostensibly, this is understood to ask for advice on how to improve in certain areas—as determined by your question—but you could, technically, ask anything you want.
Additionally, your armor has been repaired to full as an afterthought. A trifle, really.

AN: There's something we keep saying, and it doesn't stop being more true. "Experience is the God Stat". Audrey got complacent and lowered her guard in an insecure place, and nearly paid the price for it.
But she got through it, got the shit kicked out of her, and she's going to come out of it much wiser. Not the least being that she's never going to intentionally wander off alone outside of secure territory again after this lesson--it's no longer a possibility.
Your first Ambush is one of the greatest winnowing moments a Knight experiences, and a lot don't get through it. You did, and that's to your credit. Breaking through the encirclement and keeping them chasing you was absolutely the correct choice. It's just that beating a 4v1 if you aren't several tiers beyond the opposing force is intended to be night impossible. That's not a weakness of your build, that's just reality. "Bring Dudes" is the winning meta in no matter what your culture is.
And that power--in the future--will be yours. That's what your Retinue will achieve.
So good job with your planning. Take pride in that you managed to avoid humiliation in a situation that had everything stacked against you that it could have been. And now you have an opportunity to get build advice from the Strongest Man Alive as a freebie.
It may not be the same as shinies, but I think you folks can come up with a good question to ask
Once again, great work surviving your first Ambush!

Her Hama stops the mud, but it causes 10 Hama loss
Sven simultaneously attempts to hamstring her with a 73
Audrey uses Clever Deflection and gets a 75
One of the other larger Norsemen across the way uses a basic thrown attack with a sax, which hits because Audrey can only dodge two at a time. 10 more Hama loss.
The other two large Norsemen also move up to defend their prone comrade.
With Sverrir defended and an opening with Clever Deflection on Sven, Audrey attempts Giant-Killing Blow against him with a 72

Audrey then does the same to Sundri's shield for a 67
Sundri spends an Aspect and bast the attack aside with a 71
Round 2
Sverrir comes in behind Audrey, but Strandsense spots him.

Audrey attempts a Giant-Killing Blow for a 70
Sverrir, despite thinking her blind, is aware of the danger and dodges with a 76
The others arrive at this point, and both Sven and Sundri attack Audrey simultaneously with Sverrir attempting to get by her again. Audrey will defend against Sundri, but not Sven so she can attempt to stop Sverrir.
Sverrir will spend another Aspect on this and try and get behind her with another Blinding Mud and a wall run getting a 78
Audrey attempts a Clever Deflection with a 71
Audrey takes her last 10 Hama and 10 Armour loss, and another 10 Armour loss from Sven, who fails to cripple her. Sundri's attack is dodged since he didn't spend on it.
Audrey will use Faulty Ground on Sverrir here for a 67
Sverrir does not put effort into his dodge and gets a 46
Sverrir takes a direct 30 loss of health and is knocked prone
The three attack simultaneously, with Sverrir burning hard again and the other two just doing the basics. Audrey defends against those two rather than Sverrir's attack.
Audrey is drowned by mud for 20 Focus loss, this would normally also be a stun effect but her Armour Blessings defend her.
Audrey attempts a Giant-Killing Blow on a prone Sverrir, but he manifests a shield of mud to entirely block this effect. He looks drained, however.
The three attack again. This time the other two spend and Sverrir doesn't. Audrey defends agaisnt Sverrir and one of them. Getting a 73 against their attack of 71. She takes 20 Armour from the one that gets through.
Audrey attempts a Giant-Killing Blow against Sverrir again, but Sundri interposes his shield, blocking it.
Audrey attempts one final Giant-Killing Blow against Sverrir. Sundri blocks it again, half the damage gets through, injuring but not slaying Sverrir. She is blown up by the shield taking 10 Armour loss, but not knocked back.
