Hmmmm...I imagine getting something like Essence of Blood, Essence of Rot, Essence of Change and Essence of Excess which can augument some Minions, like if Brown Minion get Essence of Blood, he would gain much more strength and height, but he would gain bloodlust so if Overlord is not ready, he could loose control over that Minion...and Essence of Blood together with Blue Minion...it would turn Blue Minion into blood stain.
If the Overlord does decide to gain the favor of the chaos gods that's a possibility though I already have ideas on what minion type each Chaos god would favor. Khorne favors browns, they're simple tough fighters. Slaanesh likes reds because of fire's constant need to consume things, Nurgle naturally likes greens who are even said to smell bad, and Tzeentch naturally likes blues because they're immune to magic along with having magical properties
 
That is partly ironic given Tzeentch has fire power too... But now I think about it, there is chance of chaos gods liking more than one type of Minion, especially if we include some Minor Chaos Gods.
True mostly going off a story from Warhammer 40k where Slannesh gave an Ork Freeboota a flamethrower that got out of control and burned up an entire planet and the other three minion types having a greater draw to the other chaos gods. Thinking on it the Overlord is a very good example of an undivided chaos warrior
 
Was that canon one or one made in one of the stories, first time hearing that. I wanted to say Slannesh would be Sound too but...Tzeentch has that too.
I'm not sure I remember it from a Youtube video about chaos orks. The chaos gods don't really tie themselves to particular elements more concepts really. Either way that's just my opinion on what minions would be favored most by the respective major chaos gods

Oh, chaos orks. Okay, then that is quite possibly retconned because I only heard about Orks of Khorne and given Slannesh is Slannesh.... nevermind, and Orks would only accept stuff from Khorne or Nurgle.

Reading bits about how the Big Four might influence the minions made, I can't help but think about what kind of affinities the minions may have as far as the winds of magic goes. My thoughts are that browns are Ghur, reds are Aqshy, blues are Ghyran, and greens probably Ulgu or Shyish?

I like it lots of options there with them being able to tell the Overlord about the setting and open a pathway to diplomacy with the dwarves or at least knowing where they are so you can steal their beer

Btw, Blue Minions are less immune tp magic but like Red Minions, they can absorb magical energies and use it to basically revive their dead who died recently. So I can imagine if we create Higher Cast of Blue Minions, they could wield few Winds of Magic, like Sapphire, Purple, Grey and Chamon winds of magic, and possible marks on them.

Yeah I've seen all the Overlord games including that one that comes after 2 and the DS game (which I personally owned and played). I forgot that blue minions can absorb magic I mostly remember them being immune to spell attacks and drowning along with being able to kill ghosts. I'm not fully familiar with all those winds of magic but I'll be learning on the go with the help of a buddy who knows the deeper lore. I'd imagine blues would take most readily to spells for healing and reviving other minions potentially mass AoE heals and revives.

Did not see time of arrival, so had to scroll back quite a lot. But in short, Its the Golden ages of the immortal races.
Humans di not yet reach the Old world continent. Heck the only human Civilization around is Nehekara and arguably Cathay.
Its gonna be an open canvas for the setting, but also a lot of figuring it out.
Not to mention Elfs and dwarfs are at their duffiest.
The time and place may not be as pleasent as some here belive.

There is potential either way to be honest.
