Weaponry is always a classic, but the prestige of the original pirate ship is just cool.

We are imprudent, and we should never forget that.

[X] [ACQUIRE] Awakening Armoury - Ranged
The big significant ship is tempting, but I am a bit worried at how much its themes don't fit with what the princess will be giving us access to. The ranged armoury seems more flexible and should be a simple crowd-pleaser with the locals.
[X] [LEVER] Grief
Let's play to the archetype we have chosen.

Huh, despite grief being third with a difference a few pages ago, it is very close to first place now, it just needs a litle push.

To be fair, that is just my agenda, its just as likely first place will get a big push, but I believe in Grief upset... is it an upset when it was considered the favorite in the beginning? Whatever, doesn't matter, I believe in Grief upset nonupset

"Nothing is so painful to the ̶h̶u̶m̶a̶n̶ Elven mind as a great and sudden change"

Just quoting Frankenstein for no reason at all.

Picture more of a lateral transfer. An Elven Necromancer Princess and her Wraith Husband First Mate is a banger concept for a pirate crew to alter her contribution to the Acquisitions side of things, and alternately she'd slot straightforwardly into the Research side as an expert of Elven culture and politics with her husband as an expert on animals.

Oh well in THAT case -

I know we are all on the 'this is a terrible decision Uncle Lion But special,' but is it? Princess Fallenstar isn't a human, she's an elf, they cast spells by now allowing them to alter their souls, she would have far less of an issue using even true necromancy than a human and it would you know... reunite her with her murdered husband. It is very hand to argue that's inherently a bad thing and it would be very hypocritical for the man whose bodily functions are on optional mode to contend that being undead is such a dreadful fate as to be worse than the untimely separation from one's loved ones.

Return Of The Departed
Those claimed by fate return to fight alongside their fellows
Summon
Creates a unit of ghostly warriors (unsure what, could be any number of units, maybe even Tiranoc Chariots)
Overcast summons a stronger unit, or it lasts longer

Idea for Summoned Units:

"Normal" Casting - Asur Spearmen
Overcast - Lothern Sea Guard

P.S.

[X] [ACQUIRE] Awakening Armoury - Artillery
The Dwarves did try their best to keep the secret of cannonry to themselves, but in reality it escaped long before they officially shared that secret with the northerners. Some blame bold Sartosan pirates stealing it from Dwarven ships, others say that the Cathayans developed it independently and traded it to Tilea, other still say it was sold by the Chaos Dwarves. Whatever the original source, in modern times cannon can be found on ships of most nations and in myriad forms, from swivel guns light enough for a sufficiently-reinforced Zombie Pirate to carry and fire, to the massive Hellcannon that an entire ship needs to be built around. A considerable cross-section of cannonry is present on the ships of the Vampire Coast, and with Luthor's authority a single example of each could be reluctantly wrested from the broadsides of his armada.

When a lithe pirate ship captures a fat and lumbering cargo vessel, it's often the case that the only way to get the booty home to be to take the entire captured ship home, either under escort or with a prize crew. Unsuitable for the pirate life, these ships are left floating in the sargassum fields that surround Awakening, more thoroughly anchored in place by the grasping seaweed than they would be by mere large metal hooks. On top of providing a suitably disquieting ambiance to foreign visitors, these hulks also serve as sources of spare parts and, ever since the last of Huatl's above-ground stone was mined out, of wood for expanding Awakening. None of the available ships are individually significant, but there are examples of a wide range of shipbuilding traditions from many nations of the world.

"I am one who has conquered death."
Give this answer to broach the topic of her recently-deceased husband, who perished tragically young and so far from home. You have the knowledge to build a tomb to safeguard and nurture his spirit instead of hoping for the mercies of far-away Elven Gods, and once that spirit is secure, so close and yet so far away, the temptation of a truer reunification can be dangled in front of her.

You know what yeah, why not? Adding on Grief to my vote.

Still really want to show off Luthor's cool underwater gunpowder and the actual history of its spread and development.

I think lizardmen lore would be pretty dope since we choose to settle in their backyard.

Let's see how far we can push it (and Mortuary Cult lore).

Actually, given that the thread seems eager to plunge into Elven necromancy and resurrection, I figure this would be an appropriate time to ask:

@Boney, what's the quest's stance on the canonicity of Elven Wights? (They're introduced as an enemy statline in Lure of the Liche Lord for players to encounter when delving into ancient tombs, alongside Rune Guardians and an RPG statline for the Ushabti.)

The Malus Darkblade books also have a variety of elven undead. It's pretty clear that they exist, but most of them seem to be spontaneously arising or asociated with the darker elven gods. It is elven necromancers that do not exist... though not for long if Pahtsekhen gets a new student. :V

Mostly going for the swords and such cause I think they would be the easiest and most general thing to work into a coherent exhibit, though the centerpiece does tempt me.

In the same way that I can't see the option that gives us a potential student and reject it, I also can't read a option that casually states "The Dwarfs claim that they invited it, but it was actually my brother" and not take it.

Those two votes are the exemplification of why we wanted to play the immortal teacher, guys

You know what? Sold

If possible, I'd really like to make a life size statue of some sea beastie that people can walk around inside. Or at least big enough for children to stand in and pretend to be eaten by a whale. This is peak entertainment for a kid.
My goal is a giant living diorama of some battle.
