In the same way that I can't see the option that gives us a potential student and reject it, I also can't read a option that casually states "The Dwarfs claim that they invited it, but it was actually my brother" and not take it.
I had missed this in my original half-awake readthrough of the post, and yeah, that's dope. We've literally been around for the entire history of gunpowder west of Cathay! It's a great thing to start with, and the fact that Harkon has invented gunpowder that deflagrates without ambient oxygen is bonkers, mostly for the part where it isn't constantly deflagrating at the drop of a hat (making something that burns when wet isn't actually that hard, making something that burns when wet and only when you want it to is the tricky bit). Let's nerd out about that shit!

Indifferent to the lever, I didn't vote for this particular person and have no strong feelings about how we should engage with her.

[x] [LEVER] Grief

"I have conquered death!" is just not first meeting material. Prestige opens the door for elven visitors to come, and that means she can always visit to talk about the conquest of death when we've already established a rapport.

EDIT: changed my mind.

Speaking in favor of grief, sometimes people need a little push outside their comfort zone, especially when it's something taboo. That might be a bit manipulative yes, but it's for her own good (well that's arguable, but we certainly think so in character). Really wouldn't it be cruel to withold an option she very much has just because elven society doesn't see it in a positive light?

If possible, I'd really like to make a life size statue of some sea beastie that people can walk around inside. Or at least big enough for children to stand in and pretend to be eaten by a whale. This is peak entertainment for a kid.

When a lithe pirate ship captures a fat and lumbering cargo vessel, it's often the case that the only way to get the booty home to be to take the entire captured ship home, either under escort or with a prize crew. Unsuitable for the pirate life, these ships are left floating in the sargassum fields that surround Awakening, more thoroughly anchored in place by the grasping seaweed than they would be by mere large metal hooks. On top of providing a suitably disquieting ambiance to foreign visitors, these hulks also serve as sources of spare parts and, ever since the last of Huatl's above-ground stone was mined out, of wood for expanding Awakening. None of the available ships are individually significant, but there are examples of a wide range of shipbuilding traditions from many nations of the world.
Apparently the various people of Awakening are fools, at least as far as money is concerned. Ships can be sold or ransomed just as well as any other loot. And it is a rare cargo that is more valuable than an ocean-crossing ship.

is dressed in the manner of a charioteer, shortened cloak and robes tightly belted over armour
Wonder if the style is the same for the charioteers of Chrace, Lothern and Tiranoc as it is for Nehekhara.

Distaste flickered in her eyes as you mention Luther, which is a better sign than one might think. That distaste won't stop her from entering into business with you, but it will anchor her to it as she seeks to have made sullying herself worth it.
Plus if she didn't know then she might find out and take objection.

You may be immune to age and hardier than most, but a pyre would bring an end to your long life, and that does tend to be the go-to solution for suspicious beings of unknown properties.
Interesting. Seems Liche Priests do not get back up once put down hard enough.
Wonder if they are still teaching new priest? If not then attrition will see the end of them eventually.

And according to one of our Mages, you are interwoven with magics so long-established she does not know whether it is still proper to call them magics. Who, and possibly what, are you?
Makes sense. Finubar or Teclis can probably get a briefing that covers all the salient points about Liche Priests. But that doesn't mean everyone from Ulthuan has access to the same.

Underwater gunpowder is quite possibly the greatest achievement of Awakening.

[X] [LEVER] Prestige
More patrons means each has less control.

Guns are nice.

Philosophical problems are also great.

[X] [LEVER] Prestige
Elven Academia would be nice to talk to.

[X] [LEVER] Power
I want to see a Liche Priest's understanding of politics.

I think my personal preference is the Dread, but the ranged armory is also appealing to me - i think both are interesting and the Dread offers some early prestige gain with our boss.

Power is my personal preference over Grief, but I think both can work for this early stage of interactions - and hey, maybe one can become the other over time.
