This feels like the most generalist option, with the potential for breeding bats for our ominous volcano lair. The Asur options also feel like they might be a bit more likely to survive to the next 'round' of selecting contacts?

I'll be honest, this is just based on what seems coolest, though the Harbourmaster and the Lamprey do both seem solid all-rounders as well.

And this is from a roll of 1. Interesting, perhaps the die sides are chronological, with the 1 being the very earliest version of Lutr and then as the number increases we go later and later in his personal history.

I know you don't yet know what you're going to be sending the crews off for, or asking your contacts to acquire.
I suspect what crew we start with would have a significant influence on what we send them for.

The Draugr are good at getting things that are currently underwater or far inland, while being relatively capable of peaceful interactions (but with no direct connections to leverage). The singer is probably good for looting cultural treasures, like music or plays etc, while also having some magical ability. The bat boat is a good pick if we want to kidnap important personages and make them into exhibits. Etc.

But looting the magical sea empire's treasures to put into a museum amuses me, so I'm voting for

I'll be honest that the votes are more for vibes than their actual capabilities, as I think any of the options would work well enough for general tasks and we don't yet have a direction so clearly set as to shape our choices to fit.
