The thing about being a nascent culture hero is, if we wanna kick over the gender board, who the fuck is gonna stop us?
 
The thing here is that I want to give a good argument for why we should ABSOLUTELY FUCKING NOT double down, but at the end of the day all my reasons boil down to simply not wanting to see any second-hand embarrassment or make a scene when it comes to roleplaying as any character. Probably a personal problem. So uh…

People! I don't want to see Orchid do embarrassing things! Pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease don't pick the clear dumb option that'll probably get Orchid and the kids laughed at by somebody else!
 
Counterpoint! Orchid helping the kids spark a questioning of gender and gender norms entirely, even more than it already does by existing, and even more than an apocalypse generally causes, to combat the cultural holdouts of an Empire? That sounds like the perfect hill for Orchid to fight on while it is promising to stay put in the community for awhile. And it doing so with the support of all the kids, who it in turn will support on this, means that anyone who DOES laugh at this occurence maliciously? They are likely to get some very angry talking to from all the other wacky leaders in this community who, by and large, seem to not want too much of the Empire Values to stick around either.

You're 100% right and made a good point, but I'm still scared (why? I don't know) so while I'm not pushing this point any farther I'm keeping my vote and still encouraging it.

It's like one of my relatives probably always told me: when you're gambling, literally always double down. This hypothetical relative is definitely not a good gambler, and also we're not gambling right now, but nevertheless.
