okay, I'm going to go ahead and close the vote, like always I'm going to offer a +5 to anyone who wants to make a final tally.

This turn you bought both water quench and flow like water for a total of 15 cc.

And Guang Li both searches for rare herbs and brew pills.

Searching for herbs is going to be pure perception (as he doesn't have a skill for it) and a luck check, so Guang Li is going to find 3 common herbs and roll a d100, 60 and above means on of those is upgraded to rare, 80 and above means 2 are rare and 100 means all three are rare.

For alchemy, its skill + int (so 1d10+3) and the final score is spent to "buy" pills at double their cc price, (IE a basic qi pill would cost two brewing score to create).

Okay so no rare herbs but now guang has 12 cc of common herbs worth and 3 fire pills .
That means that some more rare gathering from the ghosts we might be able to brew the realm pill and reach qi3 very soon.

Is this accounting for our yin meridian multiplying qi gathering progress by 1.2?

Why 4 water qi? We got 8 and spent 2 on cultivating? Also we got the meridian multiplier

I think for the sake of not having decimal amounts of Qi, I'm going to apply the meridian bonus to the progress itself and round it. So water would be at 100/10 for 10 water Qi (81*1.2+ 3) and yin would be 28/17 for 1 Yin Qi.

Hang on, I think the count is mistaken for gathering Yin Qi at least. We started the turn with 8/17, and the rolls for gathering Yin were 7, 6, 4, and 11 respectively

For stuff like the wisdom ghosts its largely does not matter , hell even for some of the wrath ghosts and qi ghosts options it doesnt.
But when we get to stuff that actually has expenses ? , yeah its an issue.
But there are few enough of us , that i feel like just telling folks not to do it will do the trick.
 
The real problem from my view, is actions that have DC. I.e switching away if you didn't pass or switching to such an action if your roll is good enough.

Anyways, the next update would take some time as I want to focus on distant stars next update (and pushing out turn 16) but it shouldn't take too long.
 
Wouldnt' telling people to include the "what are you rolling for" in their die-roll title do the trick? There is a title we can specify.

Admittedly, it is a very small bit of hassle, and policing it is more of one.
 
I usually do that. Something short mostly something like "stars!" for looking at the stars.
Oh, I do it too, when I think of it.

The issue is that there are those who might not be inclined to, and riot quests thrive on the "it's really easy to join in and be helpful" dynamic, so any barrier to entry costs. Also, it doesn't actually do anything if you don't make it a policy, and if you *do* make it a policy, then someone has to check and enforce and people have to be constantly telling each other to do it right, and it can rapidly get to the point where the enforcement is more damaging to the game than the cheating would be.

Going forward, this will be my policy toward omake rewards.

Short stories (see omake policy tab for what constitutes a "short story") will be awarded a reroll, they can spend on their rolls, give to somone else for their rolls, give Guang Li or give me during events for background rolls.

Regular omake will be both given a reroll and an arbitrary amount of "points" with which they can buy Qi for the following price.

Pure- 1 point.

Basic elemental (water, fire, earth, metal and wood)- 2 points.

Advanced (wind, blood, lightning, ice and so on)- 3 points.

Yin/Yang- 4 points.

Rewards owed:

No matter how much knowledge the collective accrues, how many secrets forgotten to time are known to the ancestors. They are limited by the ability of their charge to learn.

This is not a detriment to Guang Li, their dedicated descendant is giving it his all. but mortals have limits and can only learn so much in a certain time frame.

More and more have the ancestors of the Guang dug into Guang Li lifeline some carful to not hurt him. Other's not so much.

A fist sailed by Guang Li face, dodged by the last possible moment. His movements elegant and graceful beyond what should be possible.

"It's a good defensive technique" Shu Cai said as he returned to his stance before launching into a flurry of new offensives "but it relies on you, if your body is not up to the task it would do you no good" saying so he sped up and no matter how smooth and elegant guan Li movements were it completely over whelmed him.

Thanks to some light sparring between li and Cai, Guang Li brought both of his newly purchased techniques to Lv1 (this means he can use them), as well as got +5 progress to the next level of combat.


A blue peony and some pepper. Those were the only ingredients required for a pill of fire Qi.

Guang Li has found many of them as he attempted to search for some rarer herbs, both of them were apparently very common throughout the lands of the sect.

Common enough that he has come over them during some of his other duties.

The real difficulty came in brewing the pill itself, combining the ingredients in the specific way that would draw out the Qi inherent in all things. A blue peony brings the quantity of vibrant life and the pepper transform it into fire.

The practice of alchemy requires no Qi of your own, not in such basic recipes. merely requiring sufficient control to werst the energies into the required quantities and patterns.

Guang Li is without the real tools of the trade, beside the basic's and this hurts him. His productivity and the quietly of the final product.

But his ancestors haven't stirred him wrong and the final pills are usable if not the most powerful or pure.

+3 fire Qi pills. -6 common herbs. +5 common herbs (3 form the action, 2 form the passive "income".

Well then, The secret realm is a bust since we now need 24 cc to buy the ticket.
So lets focus on other stuff.

With the cost being reduced by 25% We could refine guang blood to get that blood qi boni for the wrath ghosts.

And if my math is correct guang rolls 1d10+3 which means its auto completes this turn
