[X] Plan: Don't die, Don't die
The mine adds +1 CM per turn, so the math will still work.
According to what the QM said, the plan would actually be 3 CM this turn (1+1+1), and then one CM + whatever we do turn 2, and then one CM + whatever we do turn 3. But, that doesn't necessarily matter because we only have two construction swarms, and this plan would use an additional one that we don't have.
Ah, right. Yes, only 2 active construction projects per turn are possible right now.According to what the QM said, the plan would actually be 3 CM this turn (1+1+1), and then one CM + whatever we do turn 2, and then one CM + whatever we do turn 3. Can we build more than one Mine? I've been going with the assumption that it's a one-and-done project, but I hadn't considered whether or not we'd be able to repeat projects.I'm wondering whether it wouldn't be better to build more mineral extraction. Because as soon as we restore morale and allow population expansion, we're going to start needing to invest in food production and so on.
We probably can, but at the same time: do we really want to leave morale where it is?Can we build more than one Mine? I've been going with the assumption that it's a one-and-done project, but I hadn't considered whether or not we'd be able to repeat projects.
One mine per colony, but there will be other ways to grow CM production. Additionally, I may allow you to upgrade the mine later if I deem it possible.
Oh dear. One mine per colony, but there will be other ways to grow CM production. Additionally, I may allow you to upgrade the mine later if I deem it possible.
Actually, what is a planetary mine, anyway? Are we melting through the ice for rocky or metallic boulders? Are we filtering the water for dissolved minerals? One mine per colony, but there will be other ways to grow CM production. It's not a single mine, it represents the collective network of geological surveying, quarrying, strip-mining, and refining in the immediate area of the colony. Structural metals, organics, concrete materials, and rare earth metals. But specifically, it encompasses digging into the earth.Actually, what is a planetary mine, anyway? Could we do, say, this:It's not a single mine, it represents the collective network of geological surveying, quarrying, strip-mining, and refining in the immediate area of the colony. Structural metals, organics, concrete materials, and rare earth metals. But specifically, it encompasses digging into the earth.
This would jumpstart you on NSW production, which I plan to allow to be used for the purposes of reducing the turns it takes for spaceships to reach other bodies. NSWRs are super powerful, but expensive as hell to run. Most ships in this universe use more conventional fission+reaction mass boiled rockets, can be refitted to use NSWRs too if a mission needs to be speedy. And would it have any benefit over or improve the Planetary Mine infrastructure?
Huh. No beamed power propulsion? Or is it more the case that we don't have the infrastructure here, and didn't trust the people controlling Sol's beamed power infrastructure? This would jumpstart you on NSW production, which I plan to allow to be used for the purposes of reducing the turns it takes for spaceships to reach other bodies. The Shahrat rode solar sails propelled by a laser directly fed by Sol's dyson sphere and used NSWRs for the Decel. Is that what you're referring to when talking about beamed propulsion? Because if so, yes, we lack the infrastructure.
Yes. Or at least that's one type I had in mind. The Shahrat rode solar sails propelled by a laser directly fed by Sol's dyson sphere and used NSWRs for the Decel. Is that what you're referring to when talking about beamed propulsion? Because if so, yes, we lack the infrastructure.
Conventional spaceplanes or reusable rockets to catch the tether and move to orbit. What are we currently using for launch vehicles? The former Shahrat is acting as a Momentum Exchange Tether, but what are we using for that first leg?
