The CPUSA are old school Marxist-Leninists, they still cling to some American patriotism and seek to maintain a more orthodox view
The CPNYB are radicals who split from the CPUSA and want to burn the old world and fully embrace this new one, free of the stains of the USA and all the rest
The DSA are the rightmost faction, and are, well, the DSA
The Maoists are Maoists

Whichever you pick managed to grab some of the smaller factions along with it as described after the others were crushed, though of note the Maoists survived a DSA win and are fighting them as well.

From most radical to least it goes Maoists, CPNYB, CPUSA, DSA
 
I feel like going for

[]: The Communist Party of New York and Boston

is the best option, if only because my impression is that our urban areas are so utterly dominant compared to the countryside that a rural-led revolution would be quite unstable. The DSA are too reformist, of course, (rip MUG) and while I could be swayed to vote CPUSA, I'd immediately push for supremacy of the Soldiers' Soviets and Student Radicals over the party center.

MUG survives in the DSA, but is largely split between the party left and the Boston Faction

I'm voting to go somewhere left-ish.
 
Some potential downsides for all of them

- The CPUSA has the potential to become overly attached to the old america label, and seek to return some things that are better left in the past
- The CPNYB can become overly focused on creating a new world, and start disregarding the lessons and experiences of the old as tainted by reaction
- The DSA can have a resurgence of the party right, who would seek to chip away at the revolution
- The Maoists could fall into isolationism, and disregarding the rest of the world as feudal, who need to go through a capitalist phase before they can begin to think of socialism


also of note, had united front been picked instead of choosing a faction with it's own internal factions, the leading part would have been made up of a selection of the left, right, and center factions of many factions, with the same going for popular front but much larger and including the liberals

Welp I'm sold. We need to account for objectively existing gods, Chaos bullshit, magic in general, and multiple sentient species (including whatever the hell greenskins deal is) in our new Marxism.
