So, I'm choosing this because Magoose switches out on quests. I'd rather a short quest than a long one with inconsistent updates. If we live, great! If we lose, also okay for me.

If I remember right Magoose has a thing against slavery, so a historical protrayal of greece would be washed down somewhat. Not that it matters as the Illiad is a story with it's own anachronism screw ups.

I'm more following the Illiad as a template and backdrop for adventures as a timeframe... both for good and ill.

Sorry for choosing myth but to be honest I care more about seeing it then for a long quest and if lady luck has a crush on us and we somehow survive even better... 🤷‍♂️

I've only read the odyssey, I'm guessing the Iliad follows the same structure?

The Illiad is part of what's vaguely known as "the Trojan Cycle" of plays, not all were written at the same time.

The list is
Cypria - The Cypria follows the abduction of Helen and the Achaeans' haphazard attempt to come together and attack Troy. There's other stuff, such as Zeus opening the play with him planning the whole war to exist.
Illiad - Describes a few months into the ninth year of the war.
Aethipous - describes the Trojans getting alllies, and Achilles dies.
Little Illiad - deals with the question of how the Achaeans will take Troy now that Achilles is dead.
sack of Illion - the sack of Troy
The Returns - how the extras returned home
The Odyssey - how the only important guy returned home. Pay no attention to the extras.
Telegony - Much weirdness happens as Odysseus goes off to fulfill a prophecy mentioned in The Odyssey to appease Posiedon. Someone turned the drama up to 11 just for drama.

And then there is the romanized fanfic that is the Aeneid.

As for the whole slavery thing: I'm vehemently anti slavery.

But to be anything that would white wash that shit would be disengenuous.

When I think about it, in the grand scheme of human history. It was only a short while ago we finally came together and said "you know what owning another human being is a bad thing"

My issue is how you lean hard on"Free the Slaves. SPARTACUS WAS RIGHT!". One of the nicest things is how you just forget star wars even had slavery and ignore it.

But that's part of the problem, when the setting calls "There be slaves in this setting right here", you uh, reject it hard. I cannot recall a single quest you ran where you manage to go too far without some sort of slave rebellion or just toning it down to nonexistent if the setting had slavery.

Wait what side was Odysseus on?

Odysseus was on team Athens which means he was part of the Trojan Horse using side.

Also I'll just take it as a fucking challenge, to a better fucking writer

I still blame the goddesses for putting Paris up to this crap.

All of this could have been avoided if they didn't decide to fuck around and decide to again, play games with mortals and fuck them over

...I change my mind I suggest we help the Cyclops get him, its the least he deserves for starting this mess.
Edit: well being one of the people to start this mess.
As @Magoosaid, when in doubt in Greek mythology, blame the gods for the nonsense you're in. Except Hades and Hestia. They're cool.
