Im sorry for the weird and confusing voting period guys, I'll learn better for next time

Oh, also, Im brewing some changes for the system that I may have forgotten to consider before

things like... magic...and health regen... >>;

Looking for your Path
You decide to try out one of these paths right away, seeing as the risk is low. Crafting Jack is an obvious choice, given your Birth Path. While you think that choosing music as an art would work, you kind of want to explore the other side of that path.

Congratulations! You have started on your path to understanding the heart of a craftsman! Not tied to any one discipline, the whole world opens up before you!

Quest 1/40 : Obtain a crafting skill

You blink. Alright, yea, that was predictable. Looking back at Kingdom Craft to note the similarities, you look back at Faith, "They always start easy huh?"

"I don't know, I don't think that's ever been confirmed or not."

But you think it would be weird if the system gave someone as powerful as say...the big six a quest like this. You bet all of their skill slots are full, and they would probably easily fulfill the quest anyways. Or something like that. Really, you probably only understand half of the logic behind the system.

You eyes flit back to the list, looking over each option, before lingering on the Twin Stars path. A thousand quests is...pretty absurd. But You and Faith both have it so it was tempting to both try it. You even once considered taking it on as a race, but the adults around you gave you weird looks for that. Maybe some day. Not like its going to go anywhere.

But something else has your thoughts and, well...two of the Paths sound stranger than the others. The first you pick, relating to your brother.

Congratulations! You have started to walk in the footsteps of your brother! Whether it be your blood brother, or brother in arms, it does not matter! You feel certain that only good things can come from his guiding presence.

Quest 1/12 : Become an Apprentice to your closest Older Brother figure

This one was far more surprising. You don't know what you expected...but you didn't expect the system to straight tell you who to apprentice under. You'll have to think about this one- not that you're against spending time with him, but you like music, hunting and fighting and he's...a water mage. Even if he is strong, you wonder what he would teach you.

And then, it was time to consider the other family oriented one. You couldn't help but feel a knot in your stomach. Just the name itself was like the System yelling at you for your faltering relationship. You have mixed feelings, but the guilty part of you taps the name. You should at least see what its about.

Congratulations! You have begun to see the wisdom hidden behind maternal instincts. Not all mothers are great ones, but you can learn lessons from them regardless. Step forward, and see beyond the eyes of the rebellious child! A road of empathy and wisdom lays before you.

Quest 1/25 : Have a frank discussion with your closest Mother figure

Your back hits the back of the bench suddenly with a sigh, "...so much for starting easy"

Faith besides you hums, "That one may be the hardest for you."

"You think? Last time I tried to get her to talk about things, she went and changed the topic. And that was just before I came to find you."

"Well, maybe tell her it's for a quest."

You pause to think about that. It would probably work, but you grimace, "...does it really have to come down to that?"

"Well, if its a quest...maybe it does" The corner of your eye catches motion from her, prompting you to look away from your screen. She crossed her arms and now that you're looking, you lock eyes. Then you cant help the blush of shame, because you know that she's admonishing you. Well...you already demanded your mom's attention for a quest once today.....

With that thought in mind, as well as all the other quests you've now recently obtained, you casually scan your suggested paths. You expected to be satisfied with the lesser number of them, but are befuddled to find brand new ones pop up.

Family Tree 0/5; Budding Monarch 0/20

Another sigh presses itself from your lungs.

I have now added Health regen to the system, because that was a silly oversight. You now have 25 base health with a regen of 2 health per hour without any extra healing items or skills

Remember, you are a basic, classless human.

The formula for Health regen is (Dex + Str + Con) * .10 ; rounded down

lasat call then (just until im awake enough to address this again)

now closed! Im really itching to get writing

Seems like due to an extra space, two votes werent counted in the auto tally. thats an easy enough fix

The Path of Hope and Faith
As announced, added health regen! (mana regen to come)
Constitution changed to Stamina!
Hope's Birth Skill updated to reflect mana usage!
Useless spoiler boxes deleted!
Suggested Paths start at 0 instead of 1!
Hope's character sheet updated!
Faith's character sheet updated!

"Alright, alright" With an exasperated flick of the wrist, you dismiss your screen. It's so easy to get Paths that even taking them unlocks other ones. It feels endless, but you don't want to think about that anymore, so you turn to Faith. "Hey, show me yours?"

It came out a little more demanding sounding than you would like, but Faith doesn't seem to be upset about it. She just shrugs and shows you her screen.

You nod a little. She certainly has been more busy than you have. But not as much as you had thought, just based on how much she was bothering you to start working on yourself. She has completed a few quests since you last shared but...what's up with these strange paths? You can't even imagine how the system was guiding her. But the Thing about paths is that its always a person's choice to walk them. You're considering how she is almost done with one, when she reaches up and just starts selecting a new batch. All of them are also ones the System has suggested for you.

Family Tree.

Congratulations! You've shown that you value your family! But you don't seem to know much. Walk this path and enlighten yourself!

Quest 1/5 : Speak with all of your living immediate family. 0/2 completed.

Budding Monarch.

Congratulations! You've accepted that your destiny may involve leadership! The role of a Monarch is an arduous one- expect many branching paths. Every choice will reflect on you, and affect those under your crown.

Quest 1/20 : Complete a quest involving a leadership role

And finally, Apprentice Under the Apprentice.

Congratulations! Having heard the legends and the tales, you turn your eyes to the past for a better view to your future! Long ago, someone from your ancestral people was taken to a far off land, and learned everything they needed to know to guide your world into success. There may be no better teacher than the first student. Walk this path eagerly, for you never know how much longer it will be available to your people!

Quest 1/100 : Find and Identify your world's [First Apprentice]

You look over again, she just nods. As if she knew about it the entire time. Why did she wait to take it then? You know she has had it for some time. But instead of bringing yourself to ask, you just watch as she simply points to the first path she took. Family Tree.

"Take this one."

"Huh?"

"I said, take this one. Look, it tells you how many family members you have."

"I know how many-"

You stop. You know about your mom and brother...but...

"Uh...I'll think about it."

She shrugs, and you continue. "Anyways...are we going to ignore that you just took a bunch of paths that the system is suggesting for me?"

"We don't need to ignore that, but I was going to take them anyways. Are YOU going to ignore that you invited me to spy on your mom?"

"Uh.."

Taking a moment to look around again, you see large pots of what you know will be rice porridge popping up in the food area. The barn seems to be almost done already. Your mom, brother, William, and that Liza woman are all gathered around the caravan again...guiding them to the barn? Maybe that's where they'll sleep tonight, instead of putting up tents or finding someone to host them here.
Some of the older children have begun helping out more, since most of the lessons seem to be over. Now its just the smaller children again being herded by a few teachers again.

"Well it's not after dinner yet."

She nods, "Just as long as you don't forget."

Standing to stretch for the first time in you don't know how long, Faith turns and looks over at the caravan too. You're pretty sure she just completed a quest. "What an ominous sounding path though.."

You nod, "You just identified her right? What's the next quest?"

"To hear a story about her adventures"

"Wow...it really seems like a Path tailored to you. I don't have much interest in it. Other than maybe how easy it'd be to complete."

"Well, if you think it'd be so easy, you should try it too."

You cant help but roll your eyes, "I hear enough about how important she is...from everyone."

"Hope, you spend so much time complaining about how busy she is and how you don't think she has much interest in raising children...why don't you show some more interest? like wow, reach out to her for once."

"Oh come on, I already have the system on my ass..."

"Then maybe the system knows something, and maybe that means that I'm right."

"Ugh!" You get up too, " Your low charisma stat makes you sound like such a know it all."

"Yet somehow, you're still my friend," she fires back at you. You're not sure you have much of an answer.

Alright, I think you have an idea of the place and things that you can do. Why don't you try a pure write-in chapter?

Yeah this seems like the best course of action right now. but I think we should be thinking about what kind of class we want to develop into.

[x] consider your friend advice, hang out with them a bit more, and then maybe see if your mom needs help?

First Steps with Mom
You consider Faith a bit more, wrinkling your nose at her smart ass-ery, which she no doubt inherited from her own mother...and sharpened with your help. But she is usually right when it comes to these things, and she is the smart one.

Even if it sometimes burns to admit it.

After a bit more talking about the caravan news, you two walk over to where they are talking. The dinner gather shouldn't be too long now, so the two of you think it may be a good time to catch them. Most of them soon looked your direction almost as soon as you began your approach, an unsettling skill of some of the higher leveled players. But Faith was undaunted, shoving you ahead. And when she acts like that, obviously they knew something was up, which just made the situation that much worse.

Yet...no one asked anything. Which made it your job to go first. Damn it. "uh... hey mom...guys... Do you have anything I can do?"

This time, everyone looked at your mom., who was looking at you for an...uncomfortable amount of time. She looked at Noah, who shook his head, shrugged, and walked off. The nerve!

But when she turned back to you, you saw that she...was also nervous? "...Is this another quest?"

"Yes...I mean. No, but kind of? ow!" you turn to glare at Faith, who had just jabbed you. It wasn't a lot of force...but it was between your ribs.

Huffing, you turn back to your mom, "Er, Mom...can we talk?"

Her posture and expression changes right there in front of you again. A little straighter, a little more serious, a little guilty? soft? what is that expression? You need to contemplate that as she nods, and gently guides you away from the group. In fact, you're walking back home. You look back at Faith to see that she hesitates this time, but decides to trail after you.

The walk is a quiet one. Along the way, you are suddenly distinctly aware of how separated you feel from the rest of the village. The laughing, the gossiping, the work, the foot traffic, the music...its all around you, outside of a bubble. And soon, its only behind you, as your mom holds the door to the house open, for both of you. You enter, but she must have looked at Faith, because you can hear your friend quietly explain herself "I'm just here to make sure she actually talks to you..."

Once you're all shuffled in, she sets on some tea, and prepares some bread with a spread of mayonnaise and crushed herbs, "Make yourself comfortable... I cant offer too much, dinner isn't far away," she slowly takes a seat as you and faith each take a piece. Its always better to have a serious talk with food like this...something to do with your hands.

"I want to ask you," she continues softly, "..to be honest with me. Be blunt."

How do you even start a conversation like this?

[ ] Go hard from the start, ask her if she even likes you
[ ] Bluntly tell her that you need to talk to her for a quest
[ ] Ask her why everyone is on your case all the time
[ ] Ask her about the stuff Faith told you about the Caravan
[ [ Tell her about the Family Tree quest, and try to ask about your dad again
[ ] Swallow your pride and ask her for advice on something
- [ ] what?
[ ] Write in

[x] write in
-[X]All of the above. Start with swallowing your pride and asking for help by bluntly telling her you need help by taking to her for a quest, then telling her about the quest before asking about dad again before flowing into the other questions.
