MERITS
ARTIFACT (*****) - THE LENS LANCE
DESCRIPTION: Forged in a heartbeat, lurking within the machine for ten thousand years, the fury and spirit of a barely tamed gravitic imploder lance - long mistaken for and used as an agrav system aboard an orbital habitat - has been once more aroused to the glory of battle. Though her functions are as of yet locked behind codewalls and mystery, she remains a terrifying weapon in the hands of a skilled warrior. Her legend will burn across the galaxy.

FAMILIAR (**) - GITTA, THE EVER LOYAL
DESCRIPTION: They say the Kriegers pour their hearts into their horses - but beyond their world, none know their mounts as anything but numbers on an Administratum file. Gitta will change that. Ia! Ia! Praise her! Praise Sainted Gitta, The Ever Loyal! Ia! Ia!

TEMPERED BY THE ELEMENTS (**) - DAUGHTER OF VATS, BORN OF WAR
DESCRIPTION: Though fading into seeming insignificance in the glorious dawn of a new age, the first Twilight to walk the galaxy since the fading of the Age of Sorrows was inured to the chaos of a modern battlefield, moving across it as swiftly as open ground.

SELECTIVE CONCEPTION (*) - SUBDERMAL IMPLANT IN THE THIGH
DESCRIPTION: ...this is actually just standard issue for Imperial Guardsmen from any world with a Magos Biologis on it.

LANGUAGES (*)
DESCRIPTION: You can speak the ancient tongue of The Old Realm!

INTIMACIES

Defining: The Galaxy is a Body, I will Heal it (Positive)
Major: Kit (Confused Attraction), Chaos (Hatred), Gitta (Love)
Minor: Technology (fascination), Xenos (Fear)

CHARMS

IN SUMMATION: Genuis flows, unabated, through the mind of the First Twilight. She is able to hold multiple projects in mind at once, easier than any mortal, while also shifting her focuses - despite not being trained in the crafting of explosives or metallurgy, she could shift her ability to create medical chemicals into that with some effort. She is able to inspire herself to construct even mighty artifacts swifter than any mortal, so long as she crafts projects that aid and help her allies and friends. She can complete mundane and even complex tasks - building a rifle, a suit of armor, or a small vehicle - in literal seconds using nothing but the raw materials and her bare hands. Raw excellence overflows in all her favored and caste abilities, bolstering their dicepools if required.

Yeah, good points all around.

Changing vote to the landslide.

[X] Alectai

Though, @Alectai could you add a small line of berating over the General removing a priceless personal shield array lens to turn into a gaudy personal bauble on a chain before taking it from him?

  • [X] Disarm the Commissar, knock the General unconscious, and then have them tied up, thrown into the brig, and assume command. With Kit's help, obviously.
-[X] This General is attempting to interfere with a miracle that could bring victory, has been informed as such by the Designated Expert in Technology, and rather than seek more information or even get a second opinion, he's trying to destroy it to make the defeat total. You don't know if that makes him an idiot or a traitor, but either way, he clearly must be relieved of command before he betrays the Emperor by snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. State as much as you disarm him and his Commissar pending a tribunal or something, and get down to the business of stopping the servants of Hell from claiming a victory here.
--[X] No, seriously, are you claiming you know better about matters of technology than a Magos? Punch time! ...well, bonk time...

Just for fun, I'll let you roll join battle! That's Wits+Awareness(+1 for specialization), +2 (for stunts)

Sure, it was my plan, I'll give it a go. Know that only Comedy emerges from my dice.

EDIT: I count 5 successes here!

7, actually, since I'm giving you a +3 stunt out of the sheer kindness of my heart, which is then bumped up to 10 since everyone starts at 3 ini. Anyway, I'm going to start posting assuming I don't get attacked by a lot of random work!

Demotion (2.0)
The Commissar stepped forward, her impressive sneer only equaled by her impressive bolter. The pistol's barrel filled your gaze and Kit tensed next to you...but you were faster. You stepped forward, brought your Lens Lance twirling up and then brought the base of the shaft against the underside of her pistol. It flew up into the air - then dropped into Kit's hand. He held it and in a single clenching of his fist, he crushed it into an exploded spray of fragments, bits of metal falling, the mass-reactive shells clattering down as they spilled out of their destroyed magazine. Wasteful, but...impactful!

The entire crowd of officers and Magos and common soldiers that surrounded you stood perfectly still. You twirled your lance above your head, then brought it smashing, hilt first, into the general's temple. His eyes rolled up and he dropped with a groan, splashing into the mud. The Commissar was still gaping at her empty hand as you slammed your lance back to the ground, holding it to your side.

"Throw him in the brig," you said, voice firm and fierce. The words came streaming out, bubbling from your mask before you could stop it. "This...this...this...this...General is attempting to interfere with a miracle that could bring victory, has been informed as such by the Designated Expert in Technology!" You thrust your hand at the Magos. "A-And...annd rather than seek more information or even get a second FRAKKING OPINION, he's trying to destroy it to make the defeat total!"

You started to pace back and forth, hands raised up to either side of your head, breath hot against your face inside of your respirator, blowing against the portholes, actually beginning to fog them up. "I don't know if that makes him an idiot or a traitor, but either way, he clearly must be relieved of command! Right now! I mean, what's he going to do? Compound his idiocy? Betrays the Emperor by snatching defeat from the jaws of victory!? Is that the kind of general we're dealing with now!? I...I..." You trembled, then thrust your finger at the Commissar as well. "You! You! You...you were going to shoot me!? A...a...TWILIGHT! CASTE!"

You couldn't stop now. "Do you know what technology is like RIGHT NOW!? Our best technologist, our finest mortal savant, has a GRILLE...STRAPPED TO HIS FACE!" you were almost screaming now, pointing at him. "That's the BEST WE HAVE! And you wanted to shoot a fucking Twiligh Caste!? Do you even know the level of catastrophic stupid brainless wastes of time that was! That could have been...who even knows...I!" you threw up your hands, then put your gloves over your face and screamed in pure frustration."

The Commissar opened her mouth. "No, seriously, are you claiming you know better about matters of technology than a Magos?" You exploded, turning to face her again. "I just realized, I'm ACTUALLY being quite nice you think by disarming them instead of killing them all where they stand because it's been a stressful time! And...and...ARRGH!"

"I think they got the idea, honey," Kit murmured, his amusement clear.

You glowered at the group of officers.

They remained quiet, and your commanding officer whispered quietly. "Y-you're...not Krieg anymore."

It was like being smacked in the face. "N-No, I..." You stammered, but Kit put his hand on your shoulder. The Commissar shook her head slowly, and in her firmest voice, she spoke.

"You are a heretic. A mutant. Touched by the warp itself."

The officers squared their shoulders - but then...to your shock, a barrel came from the left of your vision. Crunching boots sounded and 7-7 stepped foward, her hellgun aimed at the Commissar. Her voice was even. "The...the Natural Magos said you're under arrest, Commissar." The officers looked shocked - and none were more shocked than you as other common soldiers walked forward, their rifles aimed at the knot of stunned nobles and leaders. Your CO, 9-19, shook her head slowly, her jaw tight and her portholes flashing with pure fury.

"You are not Kreig," she whispered.

"Come on," 7-7 jerked her hellgun.

"7-7, you will be executed for this," 9-19 snarled, but raised her hands, mulishly and slowly. The whole knot of commanding officers were marched away as the other common soldiers gathered around you.

"...w-why?" you whispered.

"Cause they don't want to die," Kit said, quietly. "Those men spend their lives like bullets. You? You offer them hope."

"W-What!?" you stammered, but Kit grabbed onto you by the scruff of your neck, hauled you up, then planted you on his shoulder. As he did so, he grew and grew and grew, until you were perched on his tigerish body. His voice boomed out, confident and casually commanding in all the ways you weren't.

"The Emperor has blessed 41-22 and I with his divine might! And together, we shall not merely survive today - we shall find victory! We shall drive forth the enemy from this world! From this system! From this segmentum! From this galaxy itself!" He held you aloft. "And it will be by her light we shall do it! 41-22! 41-22! 41-22!"

Your hurried explanations that you were no one special were lost in the cheering din as the surviving army shouted out your designation.

---
You currently have 10 XP and 4 Solar XP (you earned some standard XP for your pre-exaltation adventuring) and due to your planning, 8 of that XP is already spent because you, good lady, are getting THOUSANDFORGE HANDS so you can craft an artifact at speed. Specifically, it will take you 5 weeks...normally. However, since you have a bunch of mortal savants helping you, I am going to count every 5 of them as (functionally), +1 essence, which drops this to the minimum time of 0 weeks, or 24 hours.

But the question is, what precisely do you want to make to styme the enemy attack.

You have an ini of 10!

The Commissar has a ini of 5!

So, you Gambit them! 5s to hit, which is a hit, and 5s with your gambit (you roll your ini to do gambits), which is enough to disarm that pistol!

Lore Roll: 7s! ...you got a 7s on...5 dice...Exalted, everyone!

Your performance roll is 1 Cha + 0 for performance, +3 for appearance, +2d/+2s for stunts. 3s! Which beats their resolve! ...wait, no it doesn't, they have +2 to their resolve for their intimacies. But it DOES beat the common soldier's resolve.

There's a new update!

While a Lance Weapon would be of incredible use, we've got an ancient ship sitting right there, waiting to be liberated. A Teleportarium would allow us to conduct selective sabotage as necessary, give us incredible mobility, and allow us to strike the Chaos Marines at their head thus minimizing casualties while maximizing salvage. We might even be able to reverse the effects of whatever corruption/Wyld mutations the general populous has been exposed to afterwards.

[X] Teleportarium

I was all for the Lance Weapon but Mailstrome won me over. We don't need yet another Orbital crashing into the ground, not when we can take it from them and bring the fight to them.

[X] Teleportarium

[X] Lance Weapon

I don't think we're quite ready to step into a ship that's been in the hands of the Word Bearers for who knows how long as while they may not have the sorcerous capabilities of the Thousand Sons they are still very good at it and they have at least one Thousand Sons sorcerer at their disposal so who knows what kind of traps and bound deamons are on the ship.

Gosh the Emperor (or whoever we reincarnated from) must be pissed about all the technological decay for it to leak through that much.

Wonder if Tu is going to notice what she was ranting about?

Yes we are probably considered a psyker, but the militarum does pick up potent psykers and stick them on the battlefield. Normally there's training, and it's fuzzy if they all go to Terra or if some are raised on-site, but that's a normal and legal thing, as long as we don't have a command position.

"The...the Natural Magos said you're under arrest, Commissar." The officers looked shocked - and none were more shocked than you as other common soldiers walked forward, their rifles aimed at the knot of stunned nobles and leaders.
Yeah the Mechanicus is functionally, if not legally, an entirely separate government from the Imperium, so this is only stranger than normal in that they didn't execute him for interfering with archeotech and starting a civil war.

Do consider, being a Psyker is a capital offense that can be commuted only by doing Whatever Your Superiors Tell You To Do at all times, which is usually "Be used up as a bomb until your focus finally doesn't keep up."

The Edict of Nikaea is still on the books, and by the Emperor's words, Being a Psyker is a crime punishable by death. It might have just been a T-Pose to shit on Magnus and his supporters, but he never actually rescinded it and then he got on the toilet and never came back.

Look, we are in no shape to take on a whole voidship by ourselves. Not saying 41-22 and Kit aren't good, but they're not that good.

BIG GUN

Besides, there's how many crashed orbital habitats scattered around? What's stopping us from building a new ship?

All right! So, the lance weapon isn't an artifact - it's a mundane weapon. It's just the size of a small building, which means it "counts as" a 2 dot artifact.

This means, yes, a daiklaive (a single sword) is one step harder to make than an entire lance weapon. ANd your Lens Lance is actually 3 steps better than a whole-ass-lance. This is because as you get more Evocations for it, it will get more powerful. Will you one day be able to blast an entire ship apart with your Lens Lance? Yes.

Now!

You need to spend 2 GXP to fuse two Major Slots into a Superior slot that can hold this thing in your head. You now have the entirety of a Titan Class Lance Battery in your brain. Actually making the artifact is a Diff 5, Terminus 6, 30 success required extended action. This means each roll only counts successes past 5, you need to get 30 in total, and you get to roll 6 times in total.

It costs 10 GXP to roll each time!

So, using SUBLIME TRANSFERRENCE you can turn your SXP into GXP, but since you only get six rolls, you only need to turn 20 of them into 10 GXP to make it a total of 60 GXP, which you spend for 6 rolls all in the same day, because you're just brimming with creativity.

You're rolling, IN TOTAL, 12+2 successes, with double 9s. If you roll a 10 or a 6, you can re-roll that number until 10s or 6s fail to appear, and if a die is a re-roll you still KEEP THE SUCCESSES.

So, if you roll a 10, then re-roll another 10, then re-roll a 9? That's 2+2+1 or 5 successes from one die.

Good luck!

...I wanna do the first roll!

So, first roll we got 9s, with +2 automatic successes for the stunt, but we also have one 10 and two 6s!

RE-ROLL!

Oh hey, we got a 6 and a 10, that's 13s and two dice to re-roll!

RE-ROLL!

That's a 9, which (remember) is doubled, so that's 15 vs diff 5, for 10 successes to the 30 success pool!

So, we're 1/3rd of the way done already!
