Since then she'd been following a somewhat niche trainer in Hoenn whose ace was a Regieleki. That influenced her style of battle considerably, with Willow focusing a lot on speed and unorthodox maneuvers (even if she still didn't have any that worked).
Why do I have the feeling that at some point Willow is going to meme on us with the overflow Trick Room strategy....
[]
Dratini: Twister on Arbok
Pineco: Self Destruct on everyone
Chansey: Echoed Voice on all enemies
Magnemite: Supersonic on Arbok to disorient
[]
Dratini: Twister on the weak Pokemon before using Wrap on Houndoom
Pineco: Protect to block attacks on other Pokemon
Chansey: Echoed Voice on all enemies
Magnemite: Thunder Shock on Arbok
[]
Dratini: Twister on the weak Pokemon before using Wrap and Thunder Wave on Houndoom
Pineco: Protect to block attacks on other Pokemon
Chansey: Echoed Voice on all enemies
Magnemite: Supersonic on Arbok and Houndoom when possible
Willow: Have her use Staryu on Houndoom and have Bronzor and Eevee face Arbok
Are Twister and Echoed Voice combined the only way to reliably sweep the four weaker Pokemon in one turn? Regardless, I didn't consider it before but if Dratini locks down Houndoom with Thunder Wave into Wrap then Staryu could absolutely just shred the thing which frees them both up quickly especially if Magnemite confuses Houndoom making it impossible for it to escape practically so good job Willow.

Meanwhile, we're just sitting on the win condition of a Chansey in the back line spamming Echoed Voice which grows in strength by forty power every turn it's used sequentially which is going to hit like a truck by the time the last two Pokemon the Rockets have are deployed.

[X] It's a Team Fight

Arbok might still be an issue but between the damage it's taking from Twister and Echoed Voice hitting the entire opposing field plus support from Pineco, and Magnemite I think Bronzor and Eevee should be fine.

I can in fact confirm that the reason Willow is a fan of that Pokemon was due to them outspeeding Trick Room. It's just too fun not to be the case.

It isn't the only way to reliably sweep the chaff in a single turn I can think of. But overall I'd say it's the method that uses the least amount of Pokemon to do so. Willow's Pokemon aren't great at AoE so it's up to your mons to handle the 4 mooks.

we can't expend all our shots early, since they might have more surprises for us.

Alright, I'll be calling the vote here. Looks like It's a Team Fight wins. Well, this was certainly an interesting battle, as while Round 1 goes very well for you overall (managing to sweep all the mook Pokemon and Confuse both Arbok and Houndoom, things get very dicey when the female Rocket throws out Koffing and Violet realizes it's about to pull a Pineco. This results in every one of your Pokemon going after it which almost doesn't work in large part due to its tankiness. As a result, it quite literally comes down to the very last chance as Magnemite clutches their Thunder Shock, despite it being a DC of 5. That and Eevee quite literally faceplants into a wall rather than miss Swift.

Needless to say, the rest of the fight is quite literally a mop up. There's nothing Houndoom and a Krabby can do against the asortment of Pokemon arrayed against them. Only one of which was actually hit now that I look at it.

Round 1 Pineco: Pineco used Protect (DC1: Autosuccess)
Round 1 Eevee: Eevee used Swift on Arbok (DC1: 26). Arbok loses 18% of its HP (82%).
Round 1 Staryu: Staryu used Confuse Ray on Houndoom (DC15: 72). Houndoom is Confused.
Round 1 Dratini: Dratini used Twister on the clustered Rattata and Zubat (DC1/5/10/20: 44). All 4 lose 70% of their HP (30%).
Round 1 Houndoom: Houndoom used Thunder Fang on Staryu (DC55: 15). Houdoom hurt itself in its confusion. Houndoom loses 15% of its HP (85%).
Round 1 Arbok: Arbok used Fire Fang on Pineco (DC1: 79). Pineco's protect negated the attack!
Round 1 Chansey: Chansey used Echoed Voice (DC1/25/25: 20). Arbok and Houndoom avoided the attack! The other Pokémon lose 30% of their HP (2 Rattata and 2 Zubat faint)
Round 1 Magnemite: Magnemite used Supersonic on Arbok (DC35: 43). Arbok is Confused.
Round 1 Bronzor: Bronzor used Confusion on Arbok (DC10: 82). It's supereffective! Arbok loses 30% of its HP (52%).

Round 2: Female Elite Grunt throws out Koffing

Round 2 Eevee: Eevee used Swift on Koffing (DC1: 1). Koffing loses 20% of its HP (80%).
Round 2 Staryu: Staryu used Rapid Spin on Koffing (DC15: 70). Koffing loses 18% of its HP (60%).
Round 2 Dratini: Dratini used Twister Koffing (DC15: 65). Koffing loses 20% of its HP (40%)
Round 2 Houndoom: Houndoom used Thunder Fang on Staryu (DC55: 45). Staryu avoided the attack!
Round 2 Arbok: Arbok used Fire Fang on Pineco (DC25: 28). It's Supereffective! Pineco loses 28% of its HP (72%).
Round 2 Chansey: Chansey used Echoed Voice (DC1/25/25: 67). Arbok loses 20% of its HP (32%). Houndoom loses 20% of its HP (65%). Koffing loses 20% of its HP (20%).
Round 2 Magnemite: Magnemite used Thunder Shock on Koffing (DC5: 6). Koffing loses 20% of its HP. Koffing faints!
Round 2 Bronzor: Bronzor used Confusion on Arbok (DC10: 13). It's supereffective! Arbok loses 30% of its HP (2%)
Round 2 Pineco: Pineco used Tackle on Arbok (DC10: 15). Arbok loses 2% of its HP. Arbok faints!

Live reaction of Violet seeing someone else try and pull off her signature move.

Kanto Week 14 Part 3 - You Dare Use My Spells Against Me?
[X]
Dratini: Twister on the weak Pokemon before using Wrap and Thunder Wave on Houndoom
Pineco: Protect to block attacks on other Pokemon
Chansey: Echoed Voice on all enemies
Magnemite: Supersonic on Arbok and Houndoom when possible
Willow: Have her use Staryu on Houndoom and have Bronzor and Eevee face Arbok

"Can Staryu take Houndoom for a moment?" Violet found herself asking as an idea came to mind. Glancing between the various Pokemon present, she mentally tasked Dratini and Chansey to remove the weaker Pokemon from play. After which Dratini could support Staryu leaving everyone else free to dogpile Arbok. Not to mention Bronzor would have a notable type advantage against Arbok.

"Easily," despite not looking in her direction, Violet could hear the grin in her tone. "Eevee, Swift. Bronzor, Confusion. Staryu, you know what to do."

"Take that starfish down Houndoom!" Yelled the Rocket.

"Dratini, take them out! Chansey, Echoed Voice! Magnemite, use Supersonic!" As Violet called out her own orders, Pineco locked eyes with her, independently realizing what she should do. An unspoken communication occurred between the two as Pineco prepared Protect for the first attack from Arbok.

"Double tap the Pineco," the female Rocket said softly, her voice deceptively quiet compared to the much louder volume of everyone else present.

While the trainers were busy ordering their Pokemon, Eevee and Staryu had already begun moving. Both of them dashing in unpredictable, evasive patterns that made them hard to track to anyone besides Violet. While Eevee momentarily broke the pattern to stutter and hit Arbok with Swift, Staryu's pattern was much smoother. With the Water Pokemon using Confuse Ray without a single moment of vulnerability. It seemed that Staryu had learned moments of weakness could cause a swift defeat in their fight with Dratini.

The now Confused Houndoom lunged towards Staryu. It never had a hope of succeeding due to the distance involved, but it had gambled on the Water Pokemon trying to dart forward for a Rapid Spin rather than moving backward to prepare a Water Gun. However, disoriented as it was from Staryu's opening move, the Dark Pokemon quite literally tripped over its own feet, slamming face-first into the ground before dragging itself to its feet.

And while Dratini and Chansey easily swept the two Rattata and two Zubat with Twister and Echoed Voice, Arbok was having several problems of its own. Its Fire Fang was caught by Pineco's Protect, the flaming jaw failing to break through the protective fields around the Bagworm Pokemon. In that moment of comparable vulnerability, both Magnemite and Bronzor acted to make its day much worse. While Supersonic caused the Cobra Pokemon to lose its sense of balance, Bronzor hit it with Confusion, the supereffective move causing less damage than Violet expected but still forcing Abrok backward with the strength of the hit.

"Is that it?" Willow laughed, "I was expecting more from you chumps!"

Houndoom's trainer snarled, his hand drifting towards his second Pokeball before the other Rocket coughed.

Violet's eyes narrowed as she caught the hidden smirk on the Rocket's lips. As the female grunt lazily tossed out a second Pokemon, the shy girl's eyes widened as she realized what was going to happen. "Koffing," the Rocket purred, "Take them all down."

"Everyone hit the Koffing!" Violet yelled out, causing Willow to spin around in confusion, wondering what was going to happen.

"Staryu, Rapid Spin on Arbok! Eevee keep it up!" Willow yelled out, deciding to ask for clarification later rather than in the immediate moment, something Violet was glad as she had several orders of her own to give.

"Dratini, Twister on Koffing! Keep it up Chansey!" Violet understood what the Rocket's plan was. She had used it herself after all. Based on Pineco's scowl, the Bagworm Pokemon understood as well. Self Destruct was a powerful move with very few answers besides taking the Pokemon down immediately. And if it was used here? It would be disastrous for Willow and her.

Every Pokemon immediately attacked Koffing, with Staryu being slightly delayed when they were forced to dodge another Thunder Fang from Houndoom. Eevee desperately unleashed another Swift, so focused on the attack that they failed to notice the wall in front of them which they slammed into. But the attack landed and that was what was important.

Chansey's voice echoed through the mountains, the waves of sound hitting all enemy Pokemon causing all of them to suffer. And then it was joined by Dratini's Twister, the gale force winds slamming into Koffing driving it towards the ground, making it an easy target for Staryu's Rapid Spin. And yet, the Pokemon was still active and a dull glow began to form around it as Self Destruct began.

"Magnemite!" Violet yelled desperately. "Thunder Shock now!"

The Magnet Pokemon hummed in response. Crackling with electricity, Violet was forced to blink spots from her eyes as Magnemite released every volt into Koffing. The sound was deafening, and it was only after a few seconds that the shy trainer was able to realize what happened.

Both Koffing and Arbok had fainted, leaving a surprisingly calm Rocket staring at the sight. "That's annoying," she said with a sigh.

Seven Pokemon turned towards a now very worried Houndoom. Needless to say, that went about as well as one would expect.

With the battle over, both trainers spent the rest of the day policing their victory. Using Dratini to paralyze the Rockets before calling for additional support, at this point the mountains had been cleared of terrorists. Moreover, in Electricville, the trainers there had managed to stop the terrorist attacks in the area while Misty had managed to break through in the Rock Tunnel sending Team Rocket running. For now, Violet had time to rest. At least until she decided where she wanted to travel to for her second gym battle.

The Fifteenth Week, Pick 1

Traveling Actions

[] Pewter City (Will arrive start of Week 18) - A lengthy trip through Mt. Moon, this would allow you more caving practice and be the most involved journey.
[] Saffron City (Will arrive start of Week 16) - A trip over the mountains nearby, the gym has reopened. And your parents would absolutely travel to see you battle.
[] Vermillion City (Will arrive start of Week 17) - Traveling through the Rock Tunnel to Lavender Town and then heading through the forest towards Vermillion City would expose you to environments you haven't traveled through before.
[] Fuchsia City (Will arrive start of Week 16) - A ferry from Electricville to Fuchsia City is about to leave. This is a fairly short journey that would be rather unique if boring.
[] Cinnabar Island (Will arrive start of Week 17) - A ferry to Cinnabar Island is harder to catch, requiring a stopover in Fuchsia City for a few days. Nonetheless, it would let you knock out the most remote gym soon.

Social Actions (For socials, it's assumed you keep up a basic level of contact through text, choosing a social means I write it up)

[X] Willow's Gym Battle - The energetic trainer plans to face Misty for the third time. Having grown considerably in recent months, she's confident she'll win this time. You were invited and decided to agree.

I guess that's non-league battles for you. quick, very lethal, and with a lot of weak pokemon just getting swept in a blink. If we were willing it might've been viable to just stow all our pokemon to shield them from the blast, but if that happened rocket would probably just take the chance and explode us rather than our pokemon.

[X] Vermillion City (Will arrive start of Week 17) - Traveling through the Rock Tunnel to Lavender Town and then heading through the forest towards Vermillion City would expose you to environments you haven't traveled through before.

We've been planning on going through Vermillion for a reason as it offers the least amount of back tracking out of all our other options.

Look ma! I'm kicking ass!

Yep, as it is non-league battles tend to have much larger differences in levels between various Pokemon. Not to mention dogpiling the other Pokemon is a very valid choice. As a result, things tend to happen very quickly and somewhat chaotically.

Would it? It's a harbor city. There's probably ferry service to another gym, if not Cinnabar.
I'm not opposed to this though.

Holy snackcakes, I missed an update... and everything went well. Battling for Violet is pretty solid, whether for dicerolls or the competency of her team.
Willow makes a good traveling companion, hope she could tag along after Vermillion.

My expectation is that when it comes to a trip to another region, one of our solid options would be getting driven by parents to Vermillion and boarding a ship to another region (Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, etc)

Rock Tunnel -> Lavender Town -> Vermillion City -> Route 6 -> Saffron City -> Route 8 -> Celadon City -> Route 16 -> Cycling Road -> Route 18 -> Fuchsia City -> Route 19 -> Seafoam Islands -> Route 20 -> Cinnabar Island -> Route 21 -> Pallet Town -> Route 1 -> Viridian City -> Viridian Forest -> Pewter City -> Indigo Plateau offers the least amount of back tracking as far as I can tell.

...I guess yeah?
I feel like this may be too much planning ahead for a journeyfic, and mapping 1:1 with the games.
We'll probably skip from Saffron right to Celadon as well due to the whole "Parents showed up to watch, have a ride back home Violet" thing, and the cycling road might be skipped as well. similar deal with seafoam islands as well.

Alright, I'll be closing the vote here. Looks like Vermillion City it is. I can confirm that there is a harbor present here which opens up a fair few opportunities for travel to other areas (other regions, some islands, and Fuchsia come to mind). But first, we shall be covering Willow's gym battle. Which thankfully will be fairly quick for me to roll due to it being simplified for other trainers :V

This seems extremely nitpicky. After all, why does it matter if along the way various ways come up to skip the intervening locations between cities such as Voilet's parents offering us a drive or taking a direct harbor route from Celadon to Fuchsia to Cinnabar to Pewter?

fair. I think seeing it all laid out makes me feel pressured to stick to voting along that plan for the rest of this region
