Peace in Our Time! - A TRO Inspired Franco-British Union Quest

"Look, Jo's a good egg. We know this. He's our kind of people, not a reactionary or a radical. Hell, there were some days I thought I was seeing double with the two of you. Heh."

"..."

"Make a deal. It'll give us a, uh, a backchannel to Downing Street, a seat at the table when it comes to policy making. You can't win anyways, the opposition's too much and all struggling will do is muck up the gears of government. You gotta come out tonight and make it clear you're gonna-"

"No."

"....

"What do you mean, 'no'?"

"I'm gonna fight it out. I'm gonna… I'm gonna… Never surrender. That's what Bevan said. I've got the unions. I-I've got the capital-"

"Christ, would you listen to yourself? All you're gonna do is throw the baby out with the bathwater… you could make one… one of those reactionaries PM. Don't fucking- don't be a goddamn child. Own up to the situation and-"

"I'm not gonna let anyone steal the election! You're gonna see! Jo's gonna see! Ride or die."

NO SURRENDER

Actually, y'know what, let's have a clean break from Labour. Big coalitions are too messy. Let someone else have a go at the wheel, keep minds away from two-partyism, and again, take the fall if the economy crashes.

I think this is the correct format since "Merged Parties count as both a British and a French party"?

We still are, though. Even if Bevan didn't see it that way, all he did was make sure british imperialism kept on chugging along with some rebranding and a few concessions to the subjects. You can't vote and reform your way out of capitalism and imperialism.

Hopefully things get shaken up in the French regime, because I'll admit that I'm just tired of it being relatively unchanging politics wise. If things go well, when he kicks the bucket, his party will implode around him, as populists tend to do. That said, with people voting as they are, it's unfortunately quite likely his corpse remains on his throne for the next 4 years.

Just look at what happened with the empire under Bevan. I believe very strongly in the ability of Labour (and the LibDems) to be villain protagonists!

Worse than reactionaries, you solidify progressive social democracy while maintaining the capitalist system. Britain has truly brought democracy to Africa, solidifying control through the Commonwealth while selectively cutting out colonies it can't hold onto. The turn around during Bevan's term was actually impressive. Labour and RadLibDems are the best villains because they don't believe they're the villains. It's like LBJ's Great Society contrasted with the Vietnam War.

everything gets worse enjoyers think of it like this
the longer the Tories are out of the government the more their resentment and anger builds up
and the worse and more destructive they can be when in they finally get their place in power after being robbed of it for so long
imagine how bad moseley can get stewing in his own bullshit for another government

Oh, on another note @Fission Battery , what's the situation regarding Darlan's successor? Does he have one, does he multiple candidates fighting eachover for the position, or does it remain empty?
