Cast-Offs of Divinity - A Merchants of Divinity Quest

Normally I'm very in favour of the benefits of people liking you, but we're a mad scientist so we need more enemies and hubris. Oh the organ and inspiration is neat too, I guess.

As a mad scientist, we need to study the mystery box!

We could maybe offer a small bribe (money and/or free health care?) to the patient for silence as to where the mystery organ went if the other lab asks? If they are volunteering as a test subject they should be poor, which makes bribing them cheaper.

Enemies and hubris works too though!

I was hoping someone would notice that!

It came through pretty clearly :)

DC = 15/25 + 15 (Implant (Negated by medical scan))= 15/25

Now I'm wondering how many people we have been walking by have secret implants :V

What are we, a normal boring scientist?

You can't be a proper mad scientist if you're a coward

We have any ideas for a T4 learning enhancement to complement our current one?

Also not looking forward to what the two two random rolls are.

Something about directly augmenting the ability to write to and/or retain long-term memory?
Improved mental acuity, so that we can better analyze and understand in the moment? It's easier to retain things that you more fully comprehend.
Something about an emotional intensity booster, to tie into the emotional triggers on learning?
Something to directly improve mental resilience in a way that would allow us to focus more intensely and for longer without running into fatigue/burnout issues?

I'd think implants, but... if we're planning on developing a T5 implant base to best exploit the second contract, I kind of want to wait on actually pushing the transhuman thing all that far until we have it... especially since we'll almost certainly be specializing it for "stack on lots of implants without negative side-effects".

Likely is going to be a mental implant of some sort. Which will likely also be useful for minions creation. The real question is stacking. We currently have a tier 3 learning enhancement. We are currently bio 4 and shortly will be bio 5. Despite that I suspect that we are going to be making many tier 1-3 gadgets to try to farm inspiration.

Yeah... I don't think we're really ready for "implant that goes in our brain" yet. That sounds like something to do once we've notched up a few more times. I'm fine with putting things in minion brains, but....

Sort of hard to think of ways to increase our learning without messing with our brain somehow.

Well, our first version was drugs. I don't see why our second version could not also be drugs. I just don't think it's time to put an implant up there just yet.
I can see that Leviathan is going to have a whole bandolier of needles she is going to be injecting herself with in the future.

Update: Update is coming along slowly. Tentatively should be ready tomorrow.

Also just in case anyone has any objections, people are okay with signing the contract yes? I've been taking a vote to contact a god an implicit vote to sign the contract, seeing as you know what contract they offer in advance.

I might add a contract-vote segment to turns once you have some contracts to choose between.

Yeah we're not going to spend 30 AP getting a contract just to not sign it.

Edit: oh wait it was 20 AP wasn't it?

Agreed. Although I do hope that Leviathan does her due diligence and makes sure that every letter of the contract is what she expected it to be.
Edit: Because I caught a brain bug. I started mathing out the point of dimishing returns for Inspiration Points.
There should be a more elegant formula, but brute forcing it. If a project costs 100 AP

1 Inspiration Point save 0 AP is is worthless.
2 Inspiration Points save 50 AP are are both worth 25 AP each
3 Inspiration Points save 66 AP and are worth 22 AP each
4 Inspiration Points save 75 AP and are worth 18.8 AP each
5 Inspiration Points save 80 AP and are worth 16 AP each
6 Inspiration Points save 83 AP and are worth 14 AP each
7 Inspiration Points save 86 AP and are worth 12 AP each

As you can see the value of adding more IP drops off fairly quickly (I rounded a bit inconsistently). Of course it all depends on the relative value between IP and AP. My general conclusion though is that it doesn't generally make sense to save up inspiration. Whenever we have a more then 20 AP project it makes sense to spend 2 IP on it because if you spend loads at once the relative value each IP is likely to go under 5 AP quickly.

I'd vote against the contract, but I think I'm in the minority with that.
So yeah, probably just skip.
