You start your morning by reforming your humanoid body and peel away from the trunk of your tree. Stretching, you smile as you see Adders move up from the nook to the treetops to sunbathe. And after a moment you decide today may as well be the day that you decide to see how far you can really go.
you easily stride along the tree, to the furthest end of the furthest root. Carefully at first, you try to put one foot on the ground...and then the other....but curiously, your second foot will not seperate from the tree. After another second, you find it does not matter which foor you lead off of, the second foot is always stuck. You can not walk off the tree.
With a frown, you bend your knees and try to hurl yourself with some for-
...you can not jump either.

Sighing, you stretch out your roots. If you can not seperate yourself, then you will just have to continue doing whatever you can. And in fact, deciding to practice your Root Manipulation gives you an idea. The ultimately fruitless one, but still. You commanded the roots to reach back and try to pull you off of the tree. It was painful, but ultimately you only stopped when your vision started darkening and leaving you light headed.
You have sustained minor damage from the root grasping you so hard, but ultimately go back to spending some time getting roots to act more like fingers than even before.

You get back to root manipulation, this time, spreading roots out in all directions, digging small holes for better footholds. Its a bit slow..

Hm, did we develop independent photosynthesis for no reason?

Hm... guess if we want to go to town, we either need to transform our tree into a mecha/ent or grow it big enough that people will come and make a town around it.... or just take it with us, somehow, like a backpack 
hm.... kinda curious if we can just hang upside down from our tree parts though. no need to hold on, just trust in the magic and hope nothing can damage our roots.

Your failure to seperate from the tree, in any meaningful way, ends with disappointment. At this point, you can't really help yourself. You pout. kicking a stone away, you also sigh. "What a bummer" you grumble. But the words you speak go out into the open air of the room and just sort of die there. No one is here to respond.
You pout even more!
Turning to look at the tree, your eyes scan it for a hint of movement, or a peculiar shade of green. Youre just about to call out to adders, asking if she's there, but then you remember you can sense her on your tree. So you climb up to where Adders is sun bathing amongst the leaves. "Adders" you say "Its getting kind of boring here, why am i here again?"
You complain to Adders. But Adders is a snake. She flicks her tongue out at you curiously, and then leaves when you dont have any food. You 'ugh' in exasperation, yet you cant help but smile slightly. What a glutton.
Up above, birds chirp and fly around. SOme even start to land and play around your upper branches.

You decide to take a moment to check out your body. You've caused damage to it for the first time...how do you even heal? Whats the biology behind that? Or maybe its just magic?
You examine the damage. It really is minor. With your outer layer rubbed and cracked down to your inner 'skin' layer...its a lot like having rope burn. Uncomfortable, slightly burny feeling. But not a wound that involves blood or anything, therefore...you cant say you've really gleaned anything here.
You lean back against the tree. Somehow, the fact that you were not more wounded is now a little...disappointing.
....Is it weird to think that?

Everything else aside, you focus on the digging. Seeing that its going slow, even with your passive soften earth skill... you activate your more active skill Geomancy, willing the dirt away to make the process smoother. Your roots are able to sink further down into the ground, the stone floor breaks apart more easily.

Will our superficial damages mend if we return to tree and make a new driad body?
Also, can we only... Hm... Create/drag our driad body from the trunk of our tree?
As for the digging, we still do not want to let things to the three just walk by from the dungeon, right? So, hopefully we can dig without knocking down/cracking open the walls.
Am fine with the bestowal. Though, we should check out the outside when there is light sometimes.

sorry, im having difficulty parsing your questions
The crack on our bone layer. If we meld into the tree, then get out our dryad body again, will it vanish, kinda like a refresh on the dryad body or will it persist?
was thinking doing it as an experiment.
The second one is figuring out if we can grow our body from the branches/roots as well or just from the trunk? and if yes, is there any difference?
the third is just a rhetorical question. i would prefer to be careful with the digging, so neither the spiders nor the rats can come into our room because we made a big crack in the wall.

And since it didn't pass last time, but there were no good arguments why it shouldn't be done, why not try again.
If cute happy snek is not a reason and you need a potential mechanical effect...
We see Bestow working.
Better fed snek -> better growing snek -> snek shedding skin -> we can Mutant Omnivoric Bond snek-body-parts without hurting our snek.
We could already eat a snake's shed skin, they do that regularly without any fancy powerups. So the only way we would get anything new from Adders is by chopping bits of them, which sounds very cruel and not something the dryad would do.
Ergo, Photosysntesis remains a weird fixation without mechanical or narrative benefits.
Snakes do molt regularly, true.
But its not like they do it daily. Its based on growth -> better fed = better growth.
In that case, shouldn't we feed Adders normal food for better growth?
Photosyntesis is about generating energy, not growth. For that Efficient Digestion would work better.
It is about light -> digestible energy, true.
But i don't see how more digested energy wouldn't support growth? Like, we are just skipping the "plant stores the energy as sugars/starch/etc, adders eats the sugars/starches/etc and digests it" steps.
Again, its not a great important thing changing everything, just a cute little side thing, like the pout+complain to adders from last turn, that may have a minor effect.
Because energy is used for movement and metabolism, for growth you need nutrients and stuff like protein and carbs.
That's why you can't live off energy drinks.
