Okay, first obvious thing first. Why is a greek muse's sprog loyal to the House of Life? Well, seeing as it's set in 2030 and after a presumably long grinding war to stamp out Olympus, my headcanon has it that the global House of Life faction splintered somewhere in or before this Age with each one working with what they have (and what they want) keeping only to the general mission statement of the whole thing. Specifically this bit

The House's former goal during the reign of Iskandar and Michel Desjardins, was to keep gods from surfacing in the real world and destroying godlings

Which sounds like it would fit (after judicious breaking and cherry picking) quite well to a more general facevalue understanding of the faction. That being a House focused on the preservation of Life in general itself. And Clio, the muse of History would interpret that life as not just physical life, but also of History, Culture, Arts, General Knowledge, etc. etc. So how then would this be carried out in these troubled times? Why, with an Adventurers Guild of course! Where one of the founding members (or maybe the only one at this point in time, if QM prefers to keep the MC solo) of this rag tag bunch of survivors is our main man Marco "Polo" Dare.

This one is more of a rogue's rogue. One with little actual personal power, but still wanting to deliver as much just punishment that she is able, while keeping in mind that her Top Priority is to Herself first and foremost to not waste the sacrifice of everyone that allowed her to survive to this point in the Age of Confusion.

On her Mage Specialization, I do not mean to make it strong. On the contrary, the intent is to make it as specialized as possible, making it really hard to actually pull off and make use of. Basically, it's Curse magic, but only those both relating and encompassing Doom and Divination (so a future portent of doom). Maybe to help you or others avoid it, or give you a goal in the present to set things up so that hyper specific Curse actually happens and falls upon someone else's head. So basically a curse verson of Ladybug from Miraculous Ladybug's power.

Son of the god of peaceful death in an age where people don't get that. Why be a divine brat, when you can be a divine young adult instead.

It's interesting that you make this connection because apparently there are certain traditions that have the Muses being recruited by Osiris in Africa before going on a tour through Europe teaching arts. So the Egyptian connection is there, it's hardly a stretch.

Not likely, since I picked a muse as their godly parentage. They'd probably just be a relative with the same last name. This is especially nice since the muses aren't actually required to keep to any vows of chastity so no need to add a named character there beyond just the last name

I wanted the Dare last name because it was cool first and foremost, but distant second is because we know (through Rachel) that at least some of the Dares lived in fairly close proximity to a Nome. Close third was to open the possibility of our MC potentially having lived in a fairly well-off family (before the collapse of civilization) to open up their definition of "history and culture" to a much more globally inclusive scale, or at least one that is more open to it.

    @Magoose Congrats on the winning plan and next update we will get an up close look at the condition of Camp Half Blood and the aftermath of New York. The character sheet will come afterward and then the first set of action votes.

    Thank you all for participating! And I appreciate the originality of the plans. I learned about some gods and concepts that I didn't know before on account of most of the suggestions in here.
