The Magus Dream - A Warhammer 40K Ship Builder Quest

[X] Antan Pattern Light Macro Turret (+ Wide Arc, + Damage Dealer, - Exposed)

I question how much exposure matters. This is meant as a deterrent and delay rather than being meant to fight protracted battles. In this usage, to have a wide arc is more important as well as being more frightening to petty pirates. Able to fire off a few good shots in most directions.

Reliability is good, yes, but these weapons won't need reliability. They're not supposed to be used often nor for long periods of time.

Reliable and no need for ammunition. Flying in a convoy should reduce the problem of limited firing arcs.

Armoring the Selenia
[ ] Mars Mk. 3 Laser Broadside Batteries (+ Reliable, + Protected, - Narrow Arc)

In a pragmatic decision, you've opted for laser batteries instead of the ambitious Antan Pattern Light Macro Turret. This choice prioritizes ease of production and maintenance, ensuring that your Selenia remains operational with minimal downtime. It also eliminates the need for an oversized magazine, which would have limited ammunition capacity and encouraged foolhardy actions from overly zealous Chartrist captains.

With the laser batteries in place, the question of armor arises. While even basic hull plating is a labor-intensive endeavor, it offers a significant boost to the ship's resilience. True armor, capable of withstanding enemy fire, would make the Selenia an even more formidable vessel. Though more complex and resource-intensive, this enhancement would complement the laser batteries, providing a robust defense against potential threats.

[ ] Standard Hull Plates (No Modifiers)
[ ] Adamantium Reinforced Armor Plates (+ Protected, + 5 Years Build Time)

As the ship's exterior enhancements near completion, one final decision remains: iconography. While freighters typically bear minimal markings, your Selenia could proudly display intricate designs and symbols, radiating the Imperium's might and honoring the Machine God who guides its construction. This aesthetic choice would not only enhance the ship's appearance but also bring joy to the machine spirit that resides within its hull.

[ ] Keep the iconography normal for a freighter. (No Modifiers)
[ ] Cover it in some pleasing iconography. (+ 2 Years Build Time, +2 Prestige)
[ ] Cover it in as much iconography as you can! (+ 5 Years Build Time, +5 Prestige)

No need to get fancy on Hull plates it's a freighter not a fighter and I guess some Iconography to praise the omnisiah but keep it tasteful and not delay to long.

a nice 15 year build time.

I'm guessing (well, hoping) that 15 years of build time is fairly low.
