Super Robot Wars CS, A Quest

using it as a big rock once or twice
I also love inviting the GM to ruin our time.

[X] - Take the offensive. Char can keep, he's stuck in a world he's just as unfamiliar with as you are. Without the backing and resources of Neo Zeon, much less a single Mobile Suit to his name, there's only so much damage he can do. You have to make allies and figure out what is going on.

Using Char as a weapon sounds hilarious but yeah we probably shouldn't LOL.

I picked the wrong one. Changed it. Thanks.

Oh neat, very handy that our Newtype powers can tell us who the good guys are :D

I'd rather not let Char go, but Rean needs our help.

Knowing Char, he'd use his political savvy, military brilliance, resourcefulness and charisma, etc. to get allies and build up his own Neo Zeon branch in a new world he's in.

Helping Rean is probably more important and hey Amuro needs Char to be his rival and this gives Char a great time to try to find what he needs to be a proper rival.

He's not though. Like that's the whole point. Char is no longer a match for Amuro, assuming he has been since the end of 0079. Char arguably staged the entire Axis drop as an attempt to get a rematch with Amuro and Amuro just took him apart like he was made of legos. As a direct rival the man is over, done, yesterday's news, finished.

Bold of you to assume Char Aznable will not bounce back again and make a comeback. He had been through that song and dance before. Losing everything and then work his way to back to the top once more.

And then what? Amuro beats his ass even harder? Because that's the trend line. I'm sure looking forward to Amuro taking him out by accident without noticing he was there next time.

Unless Amuro has his own brand of political savvy, leadership and charisma to get allies and make his own faction, his Gundam is gonna be worn down without proper maintenance and support, much worse than Old Man Judau Ashta's ZZ Gundam in Crossbone.

While Char gets to make his own Neo Zeon faction with access to technology of this world to make another powerful mobile suit surpassing the Nu Gundam.

Sadly, Char's Escape Pod is not a pokeball, and if we throw it, he won't magically beam out, screaming "CHAR!"
He most likely go splat.

Char by the end of CCA is a burnt-out wreck who may or may not be trying to commit suicide by Amuro and literally hallucinating. The Sazabi was already nominally more powerful, but he's just not nearly as good of a pilot or a Newtype. Neo-Zeon is composed of lunatics and people who hate each other held together less by his charisma than their spite. As its leader he's detached from the machinations of his subordinates and seems barely interested in it.

Char hates to lead and prefers to have someone give him direction. He always has. That's why he didn't in Zeta. It's why he refused to become Haman Kharn's right-hand man. He's a drifter, only ever loosely aligned with any value or goal, and not even because he's opportunistic (though he can be), but because he doesn't seem to really connect with them. He never really has a plan to avenge himself on the Zabis rather than a keen ability to exploit an opening, and at least for a time when working with Kycilia gave it up. He seems to do it purely because he thinks it's the sort of thing people do. He espouses a vague contolism in Zeta, again less because he seems to believe it and more because he ought to. Even his leadership of Neo-Zeon in CCA is less because he seems to believe in it, and more because he probably ought to honor his father's memory somehow, assuming he's not doing it just for a shot at Amuro or to give Amuro a shot at him.

The idea he's gonna wander off and found some new Neo-Zeon movement in a universe where nobody knows who he is and come back to challenge Amuro again is completely detached from who Char is. He can be charismatic and manipulative and he has a hell of an ability to look out for number one, but he's ultimately not and doesn't want to be leading supervillian material. He's a survivor, not a mastermind.

Char still is and is the reason why the Char Clone trope existed because of him. Either way, he is gonna make a comeback anyway with another Neo Zeon faction in the new world where Norma are treated like crap and they would be drawn to him and they become his new followers.

I doubt even Amuro would stop that after seeing the sheer brutality the Normas have suffered and find the so-called superior Mana insufferable.

And that means precisely shit for what you're talking about. Char's fun to watch, hence the archetype, but he's still not a leader by choice. He still doesnt have either the temperament or the interest to actually build his own movement. Why isn't he just gonna play the Quattro to Amuro's Bright in this?

It's a comfortable role. A familiar one. And a much more interesting dynamic than the lack of education in what would be at least the third time he'll get kicked by a mule.

Oh he will. Found a new purpose of leading the Norma and Neo Zeon of this world will be made to stand up against the oppression of Mana who are all irredeemably bad.

Even Amuro would side with Char after seeing how terrible the world is.

That's not an answer. It's just a funny on an argument you don't like (you do know that's against the rules, right?) and a restatement of what you said last time.

Never mind that Char doesn't really care about oppression as such. Never mind that he just came off an attempt at the largest possible mass murder with the Axis Drop. Never mind that his sympathy is with whoever claims to be the more evolved, the New Man, because that's how he sees himself.

Suddenly he's a humanitarian?

Suddenly he's a humanitarian?
Still better than the Mana who think they're superior and it's up to Char to lead the Norma to victory.

Either way, it'll be fun to see Char and his Best Buddy Amuro navigate in the world of Cross Ange and they have to contend with a former princess and her ragtag bunch of misfits who were forced to fight DRAGONS and try to survive.

They would probably be aware of a Gundam and a ball it carries yet still formidable in battle and inform them of the state of the world they live in.

And the two will stick around with them.

Does Char has incentive to build Zeon again? Cause his homeland(?) colonies aren't here, no conflicts between spacians and earthians, his family history means nothing here…

Pardon me if I got the status of the new world wrong. Quite unfamiliar with SRW:(

The world Amuro and Char are in is apparently Cross Ange where there are two types of people: Mana - those who can use inherent magical abilities and Norma - those who cannot and are just normal people.

And the Mana oppress the Norma due to their superiority over them. Think of it like Wizards and Witches looking down on Muggles in layman terms.

Anyone discovered to be a Norma would end up being stripped of everything they had and exiled to fight DRAGONS where they have minimal support and they fight to survive or die fighting. Ange, the princess who was a Norma, found out the hard way in the first episode.

No? They're in the world of Trails of Cold Steel.
