[RIOT QUEST] A Planet crashed into our ship... what now?

[X] Explore Surrounding Forest
Hopefully we can find some resources to use for a power source, maybe we can get a steam turbine running if we find a river

[X] Start digging.

Diggie diggie hole.

Do you just want to dig in the ground or something involving the buried Radiant Dawn?

With all these Radiant Dawn Investigation I can feel confident to reveal that all interior beneath ground level is filled with dirt of the exact same makeup as the dirt outside just without any plants.

[X] Investigate Reactor
A single reactor is all that ensures the Crabs stay functional, checking on it may be valuable

We should really find the inhabitants of this planet and give them a sternly worded letter about planetary safety!

Booting up...
Crab-ID: ABADCRAB-D
Integrity: 99%
Power: 50%

Analysing options...

[X] Help others: Investigate any still viable computers for flight records, find out why a planet crashed into us. While doing that, try to keep (1) SARKA for safekeeping from the more splurgy crabs.

Friendly spy crabassistant is a-go!

This is at least average

Probably means that about half the scrap we got is somewhat intact.

Reactor Investigation: 9 Crab

Scrap Collection: 5 Crab
56: Metal Sheets, 2 Crabs Salvage 3 Metal
65: Sensor Dish, 1 Crabs secure it, may spend actions to salvage or use for repairs
75: Damaged electronics, 2 Crabs start Salvage, 1 more Crab required for full Salvage

Surrounding Forest Exploration: 4 Crab
- Climb on wing for better vantage point: 1 Crab

I like the idea of getting a vantage point, youll get credited for surrounding forest Exploration but I'll give you the broader view you can see in the update.

Radiant Dawn Exploration: 3 Crab
-Search computer log: 2 Crab

All logs are completely empty(suspiciously so). Maybe more important areas will have more info, the spent actions will be credited as RD exploration because that's pretty much what you ended up doing.

Scout north: 1 Crab
Exploring into undiscovered Tiles will be allowed, though there may be increased danger from not knowing what will be there. Exploring a tile will uncover adjacent tiles for safer exploration as the alternative.

Dig: 1 Crab
Digging into the buried portion of the RD would become an option next turn anyway and will count for it

Extra:

Keep a Sakru for safekeeping

You'll hide one Sakru. It's not well hidden but other crabs will have to specify that they search for it before transmuting, though that will not take an extra action (focus your action to better hide it)

You can do extra actions and I welcome it to spice up what you do, but don't expect to achieve large mechanical effects from them. writing a poem for your friend while you work on something is fine, but a good, high quality poetry book takes time and focus.

Update will hopefully come this evening, in around 10 hours

Investigations
5 Crabs decide to explore the Radiant Dawn

[1/1]
The first priority of the Exploration team was searching for ways deeper into the interior of the Radiant Dawn. All Command Infrastructure, material stores and manufacturing areas are located in the main body and would prove extremly valuable. Unfortunaly, the investigation revealed that all pathways are completly filled with dirt. Strangely, this is not some sort of rubble, but rather looks just like the dirt outside, only lacking the plant material.

[3/3]
Checking the accessible sections of the Radiant Dawn above ground only causes more questions. There are no traces of the tremendous amount of dirt that would have been needed to fill up the inner areas and most areas are still fully intact.

Except for the three sensor array located at the tip of the wing that is. One of the arrays has been completely destroyed, with it's part scattered on the ground. The Debris of from this damage makes up the scrap that has ended up scattered across the ground, which is already being collected by other Crabs.

The Crabs looking into any flight logs do not have any more luck. There is no information about the goal or path of the Radiant Dawn or even any other information. All storage mediums have been wiped clean, wether on purpose or through an enemy attack.

[1+2/3]
Further investigation into the damaged upper portion of the wing quickly cross paths with the group checking on the reactor, working together to unlock their secrets.

9 Crabs decide to investigate the Reactor

[2/2]
Upon deeper investigation of the reactor, it turns out that the initial expectation was wrong. The Reactor responsible for producing the power for the wing and its power hungry Sensor Arrays, which should have been able to fuel the Crab Units to ensure repairs for itself even in the event of damage is completely nonfunctional. Instead power is supplied by a small secondary reactor, which has been crammed into the reactor room and spliced into the power grid. This addition has not been added to any Crab programming, which initially caused everyone to overlook it as unimportant and still regularly causes glitches and bumps.

[2/2]
Investigating the problem with the main reactor, the problem is quickly found. Both the main and secondary fuel cell had been crudely ripped out of its casing, rendering it inoperable both because the lack of fuel and the extensive damage suffered in the process. Replacing Fuel Cells is a delicate cells that does not usually happen, as each Cell can last for thousands of years of normal usage and not taking the necessary precautions can lead to great danger both from electrical discharges and adverse reaction caused by the unshielded fuel.

(2+1/3]
Investigating the path of the lost fuel quickly cross paths with the group investigating the Radiant Dawn, and together they discover your first sign that this planet is inhabited. Strewn across a corridor housing one of the few internal security turrets accessible are a small collection of primitive weapons, coins and other tokens, rusted and weathered away to near uselessness. The weapons are roughly sized to be able to fit humans, though they would be particularly small examples. But most significant to the current situation is one of the secondary fuel cells, which has dimmed somewhat and received damage, but could be repaired and put into the reactor to restart production.

This discovery quickly causes an uproar among the Crabs and a search for more signs of sentient life is instigated

Damaged Secondary Power Cell, 3x Primitive Weapons, 13x Primitive Coins, 4x Primitive Items have been stored

[3/5]
Scurrying across the interior of the Radiant Dawn, unfortunately no more big finds can be found, though there are a few items that come from the planet. Still, upon checking the damaged Sensor array, similar damage to the reactor has been found, with parts carelessly ripped out and sometimes discarded. Whoever the natives are, they do not seem to be very considerate of their surroundings…

5 Crabs decide to search for and collect scap from the Radiant Dawn.

Upon trying to collect the Scrap, it is discovered that many of them are partly buried or even entangled in plantlife, necessitating more effort to salvage than initially expected.

The first piece collected is a large plate that used to be part of the sensor housing and ended halfway buried in the ground. Working together to dig it out of the ground and clean it, it has been stored in an unused corridor in the Radiant Dawn, ready to be used as 3 Metal Units once a way to shape them has been found.

Initially overseen, during the process of transporting the metal plate back into the Radiant Dawn a Crab stumbles upon a buried piece of scrap, luckily only receiving superficial wounds. After digging it out it turns out to be a Sensor Dish, one of several that are needed to ensure full functionality of the sensor array. Carrying it into the Radiant Dawn, it has been placed into storage to possibly serve as a replacement part or get salvaged by a Crab spending the effort to turn it into two Metal.

The last piece recovered by the Salvage team are some pieces of damaged electronics. Melted from what was presumably some sort of malfunction, it will only serve as a source of salvaged precious metal, with effort from one Crab required to turn it into 2 Precious Metal.

3x Metal, 1x Sensor Dish, 1x Damaged Electronics(2/3) have been stored!

5 Crabs decide to explore the surrounding forest, with one of them climbing on top o the wing to get a better vantage point

"Surrounding Forest" Tile has been fully explored! (3/3)
Checking upon the forest surrounding the Radiant Dawn Crash Site reveals that it is incredible calm. Though the plantlife is somewhat alien, many of them seem to have surprising similarities to terran flora, with leaves in colours ranging from green to purple and solid trunks that could be high quality wood with the right processing. Wildlife seems less plentiful in the area. While there some of them, only small animals can be found in the explorations, with the largest being some sort of bird spotted flying above the forest.

From the vantage point of the Radiant Dawn's wing distant mountains can be seen to the North and East, while the forest seems to grow more sparse to the south, possibly revealing small water streams, though the sensors of the Crab drones do not have the clarity to be sure of any specifics.

"Northern Forest" Tile has been fully explored! (2/2)
Joining an additional, adventurous Crab, the Exploration team decides to investigate further north, where the forest seems to continue on without change, including the lack of wildlife. Just when it looked like the forest is completely deserted, the exploration team discovered some sort of wolflike creature in an adjacent tile. This creature does not seem interested in chasing the drones, but it is unknown how it would react to any incursions into its territory.

"Northwestern Tile" has been partially explored! (1/2)
Preferring to keep away from the unknown variable, the exploration team continued their efforts on further expanding the known areas near the Crash Site, discovering that the forest seems to continue further without changes, though a more thorough investigation would be needed to be sure.

Single Tree: Lighter Forest
Tree with Hills: Forested Hills

House: Radiant Dawn Crash Site
Wolf head: Wolf like creature

Green Border: Fully explored area

2 Crabs decide to collect Wood
While cutting down entire trees is not feasible without tools, deadwood and fallen material can still be collected and after collecting material from the immedate surroundings a neat pile has been created in an unused side corridor of the Radiant Dawn. Should the ocllection of material continue to be so successful a new strategy of storing them may be important, as simply cramming them into the Radiant Dawn will start to cause problems with the Crabs moving inside it sooner or later.

4x Wood have been stored!

1 Crab decides to start digging out the interior of the Radiant Dawn, shoveling out dirt from a half filled hallway and dumping it outside the ship. It is good that the Crab Drones are able to keep their grip even while standing on walls, as digging a hole pretty much straight down would be significantly harder otherwise.
(2/5 progress required to dig out hallway)

While exploring the Radiant Dawn and searching for any logs, a concerned Crab decides to hide one of the Sakrus away, hoping to prevent frivolous spending of the irreplaceable material. Currently such worries have been unfounded, but one can never know.

/// Hope everything is correct. If not bring any problems to my attention please, this took a bit longer than i expected :D

Voting options will come later, though you can write in stuff if you want already or dicuss your plans

So not only did the Planet crash into us, the planet had the audacity to steal our stuff.

Are the [2/2] and etc thresholds we reached or just to signify what the crabs were doing?

Secondary concern that is a bit overshadowed by the fact we were robbed, but it's probably not a great sign that the reactor supplying us power is the one that was apparently just haphazardly shoved into the reactor room currently missing key parts is it?
CRAB-ID: GHOST
UPDATE: SECONDARY POWER CELL DAMAGED, MAIN REACTOR INOPERABLE
OBSERVATION: SECONDARY REACTOR IMPROPERLY ADDED, SECONDARY REACTOR ADDED WITHOUT CONCURRENT UPDATE TO CRAB CODE
PROPOSITION: ANALYZE SECONDARY REACTOR TO DOCUMENT POTENTIAL FLAWS IN IMPROPER INSTALLATION

Damn this might even call for the dreaded second sternly worded letter! My monocole of propriety is most displeased.

[X] Begin Repairing the power cell or at least figuring out what it would take to do so and then start doing that.

Each player will control a Crab fully supplied with power by the fluctuating production of the emergency reactor. This electricity production will not leave any spare capacity, nor will a new player be unable to activate a crab.

Each player may join or leave the quest as you desire, playing simply involves choosing the action you want to carry out. There are no player specific inventories - all resources will be shared by default, though you are free to establish a system of private ownership.

Choose an action to carry out:

[] Further search for traces of the native inhabitants of the planet (3/5)
Who knows who or what they are?

[] Collect Scrap (Radiant Dawn)
While the Radiant Dawn has miraculously survived, there are still pieces of it strewn around the Crash Site

[] Explore a Tile
The forest surrounding the Crash Site is a complete unknown. Investigating it for opportunity and dangers may be worthwhile.

[] Collect Wood (Any fully explored Forest Tile)
While there are no tools to cut down trees, there are still loose sticks, deadwood and

[] Dig into the Radiant Dawn
The vast majority of the Radiant Dawn is buried and entirely filled with Dirt. removing that dirt blocking our access to the interior will give us access to more of the ship.

[] Construct Tools(What? Using which resources?)
Whether its a simple hammer, a spear to defend against hostile attacks or an axe to be able to cut down trees, Crabs lack the inherent tools to carry out more advanced action unlike their more advanced cousins.

[] Try to repair the Main Reactor
The Main Reactor has been significantly damaged with the removal of its fuel cells. Returning it back into working order will require a working Fuel Cell and repairs to the reactor frame

[] Try to repair a stored item (What)
May require resources

[] Try to salvage a stored item (What)
Will destroy the item for raw resources

[] Transmute ARK (ANY materia, including Write-Ins)
Though the process is irreversible, programming a unit of Sakru to transmute into some kind of material may be worth the loss in flexibility.

[] Write-in Action
The world is vast and the possibilities endless... branching out with a less conventional action may allow you to fix important oversights or spend your time chasing shadows.

/// Please tag me when you ask questions to make sure I see them quickly
Im pretty sure i missed a few actions i wanted to put in, but its late. i may add them later, but you can always write in an action if you see that something important is not adressed
