Neither did using our known moves. We're 2/2 for fucking up.
Can't only stand still and slash; getting new moves is a high priority of mine.
Actually, custom moves is 1 up because kicking a thing at the enemy actually worked, and that wasn't a skill.
I agree that tripping worked, but 'dashing thrust' was trying to make custom knacks and skills for a new action which is not how it works if we did not get anything.
We will probably get new moves after this battle. I am not saying custom moves is bad, I am saying we were greedy by stringing them together. When the enemy was tripped was our time to be -reliable- and by not going for the reliable option, the 1 up from the previous custom move was lost. Back to square one.
But we cannot make new skills or knacks out of nothing, the tropping was a good role sure but also because it was an easy action, I am not so sure about riposting being easy. If you want to get custom, It would be better to use our environment more.
The fanciest move I can think off is a *gamble*. Let the Kikaiken hit us, gamble on the first guard and then strike. Something like.
[] Let it hit you, let first guard do its duty.
-[] Then use Standing First Strike, targeting its joints.
If we attack its arm, it will be harder for it to make attacks that bounce of ours.
