Blah, both choices are kinda bad, not worst case scenario bad at least, but bad nonetheless.

Going to protect Parvati means the possible failure of the mission, since the prophet managed to reach the crowd. Well, Giano will probably still succeed since she's Giano, but she will be sure to question Ciel on their choice, and probably point out the whole 'All for Hana' mantra again. Could possibly result in Hana having a worse evaluation of Ciel.

Going for Giano means leaving Parvati in danger. She will probably make it out somehow, but still against a large number of guards, a couple of which are Grade 6 level, and with a couple of gangsters even coming up on stage to join in the fight, I don't expect her to escape completely unscathed. I would expect something like a limb to go, which will result in her (and possibly Ciel?) needing to pay for treatment.

I guess I'll just pick what I think is the lesser evil

There is, of course, the possibility that this mission is the Hana evaluation, I have been having doubts of it since the beginning in fact, but even if it is, still gonna stick to the choice that makes it out with most of us alive and able to try again, going with Giano is not necessary to succeed here, not long term, it can cost us this occasion (but I still think Giano is able to do it), but we have a trail to follow.

Parvati losing limbs or getting hurt and needing money to fix that is a possibility too...

Would it? Tomorrow's Expression doesn't have any precog-related aspect to it based on the one singular interaction we have with it.

We'd need to wait till we know for sure once we get to fight the thing.

The only thing similar between the two of them is that the Prophet and Tomorrow's Expression will 'do' what you 'want'.

Which is so vague that without the physical appearances being familiar to each other, it's hard to draw a connection.

There's a not a lot of things I can say, but I don't trust it to leave Parvati to deal with a horde of enemies that is quickly surrounding her.

Giano can probably murder the Prophet on her own, maybe in a high-difficulty fight that would leave her injured/on the verge of death/dead (seems unlikely but expect the worst and all). Or the Prophet could get away and we'll have to hunt it down (Giano did say that she can hunt it down once she saw its appearance due to her moonlight stone and all).

Given that Parvati isn't as specialized for group-wide murder as Ciel and Giano, I think leaving her alone is a bit much. She's the less capable ally here dealing with an on the surface harder fight.

While the Prophet lost one leg, and likely will have to outrun Giano rather than outfight her, which are both fairly unlikely.
Indeed, worst case scenarios
Though it fits when you recall how the characters note the fellow as a manipulator rather than an actual precog, as if he were merely expressing what's already set up as it were
But we should be careful at least if it is an ego user or the abberant itself
We may not know much but we can make educated guesses, such as it's 'habit' of 'borrowing' material from others to create its masks

Some gangsters are climbing onto the stage by now, but the Fixers are too scared by the Hana Fixer in clear view.
Some of the enemy force is not participating, presumably the ones who would have the bulk of the augments and weapons. If we can speed up killing the prophet now, we can then focus entirely on getting everyone out of dodge, hopefully before the Fixers regain their courage.

For this, Parvati doesn't need to beat the whole mob, only hold her rear until the prophet is dead. If Giano's chase goes too long off stage while we fight the guards and the Fixers start to get funny ideas, there's gonna be trouble. The prophet lost 1 foot but still has 5 to go, she's not crippled in terms of mobility.

[X] Follow Giano, trust Parvati

parvati is currently holding her own and ciel trusts her. as possible as it is for her to die narration makes it seem unlikely. Though that doesn't mean she'll get out untouched and if she needs an arm replaced thats a good chunk of change.

Giano is probably good enough to take out the prophet but not necessarily enough on her own - the big hit was right after the prophet dodged away from two others and was distracted. however there is every chance that ciel going with giano will end up not contributing at all.

that said I do agree that worst case for them is parvati dying and giano not taking out the target. while both are bad one is a little more permanent than the other.

Something to keep in mind is that you assume leaving Parvati to fend herself with see her die. I am not saying this is an unfounded concern, but it is not a guarantee either.

That's what the *able to try again* stands for, even if Parvati doesn't die, she can still be hurt in a way that makes her unable to continue short term.

Giano is less likely to be hurt that way right now.

Also, are we really gonna bet on "it's not a guarantee" when talking about something permanent like death?

Sure, it's not a guarantee that she dies, but the fact that it's on the table in the first place is what's more worrying.

And that is the vote
Adhoc vote count started by Naron on Aug 3, 2023 at 6:30 AM, finished with 48 posts and 28 votes.

Which looks like a clear majority for saving Parvati and hoping that Giano can pull it off on her own.

I think I have not called you predictable this week yet, have I?

How much do you think temporary residence permits for the purpose of recreation cost in a nest?
Wouldn't be a residence visa, it would be something closer to a tourism visa with stipulations such as us not being allowed to work in the Wing and stuff like that. Which should be a lot easier to acquire since the Beach is likely a fairly popular tourist location in the city.

So the main cost will be a warp train there, the visa, the vacation itself and a warp train back.

I feel like such a high cost will be something for Grade 1s and Colors to worry about, not anything Ciel can cough up.

2 Warp Train tickets (or maybe 1 bundle ticket for go and back if W-Corp is feeling super generous lol), the visa (I don't even want to guess how expensive a tourist visa would be), vacation money, and whatever bullshit we'll have to put up to get into the nest.

Seems like a pain in the ass imo.

Let's just go to HamHamPangPang and buy a lot of food instead.

...I forgot to vote.
I hope Giano don't die because of this because this feels...skechy

I mean, her dying is the lowest possibility out of all of them, regardless of who we help there.

The highest is Pavati getting hurt if we help Giano in term of injuries, and when it comes to other things, us losing the prophet and having to track them is likely, but not certain (I'd say 65/30 against, with the last 5% for *just in case of WTFBBQ.).

A bit of a heads-up for everyone: due to my being busy for a decent chunk of Mondays for the foreseeable future, I will not be available to answer questions for long after an Update goes live. As a consequence, I will adjust all Moratoriums during that time to last twelve hours or more so I can provide clarification as needed before the vote goes live.

That is all. No, you do not get free Lunacy.
