Whatever we decide to do with Galeforce ring, we need to be careful to not have it backfire on us or our team. Plus, our strategy preferably shouldn't be too reliant on it, as I am not sure if it can run out of charge.
Of course, with all this in mind, we don't necessarily need to use it, but its an asset we have, so we might as well
Huh. Can't say I was expecting to encounter someone with either a heavily modified matchstick or an E.G.O. weapon, but that's a dangerous opponent...
Coordination with a dash of using winds to enhance/negate flames that comes towards the group is probably the play I'd make, since it's demonstrated to be not total fire immunity.
And realistically the 'pace' we need depends heavily on 'do we care about collateral damage, and if so, to what'.
At this point you got used to Parvati's habits; it is fine as long as she keeps them away from you.
"You told them?" Mai asks her sister, who shakes her head.
"No. Ciel is just observant." So saying, Parvati turns back to you. "But no, thanks. Keeping the stuff fresh would be a hassle. I'll just have to go myself one day."
I mean, it was visible from the first time you remarked on it being *special meat* and all that, this kind of euphemism almost always means only one thing.
Wonder if Ciel realized as soon as they thought about it, or if it took a little longer?
His skin is covered in ash and he wields an oversized matchstick in hand, bearing the widest smile you ever saw without cut up cheeks. Looking around, he spreads his arms as if to embrace the spreading flame. You almost think it flares brighter in response.
Watching him, you realise he feels impossibly large to your eyes, somehow more real than the people around you. Bright, more than just literally because of the fire.
The first time Parvati took us to a restaurant, she took *the special meat* they had in their menu and remarked that it was her little treat for special occasions, everyone instantly pointed out that it was human meat for sure in the comments, and the rest of her attitude when it comes to this habit only confirmed it.
So yes, Parvati is a cannibal.
And I'm going to use the strategy proposed by Kalll:
[x] Try to use your new ring to redirect his flame to burn him while coordinating with the others.
I will correct this part: Parvati ordered "the special", as in the special dish of the place. Ciel only remarked they could not determine what sort of meat it was at the time. But it has been over half a year since they first met and they spent enough time together for Ciel to realise.
After this one of course. I am absolutely going to write a two thousand year adventure with no payoff because all the events are going to be retconned in the end
Well, it was *the special* and we did see it was meat, that's *special meat* for me.
And Ciel may not have seen, but I played enough Fallout and took the cannibalism perk enough time to know that any meat with any qualifier like *mysterious*, *the other White*, *long pork* and any other kind of euphemism is human meat 100%, pretty sure I remarked on it instantly.
I had to quickly look up what I now know to be Backdraft Explosion to make sure we can't accidentally perform that given we're in a open space so even if we direct more fuel into the burning man it shouldn't violently blow us up

Hypothesis
what if someone got into a L Corp Facility and took a weapon out.
There's l corp facility abandoned not really that far away from here. So this guy might have got into there and took one out and now he is experiencing some sort of ego corrosion?
Suddenly remembered how I used previous vote to promote resistance to hazardous environment but majority of people voted for mystery box and enchanted senses.
No, I'm not salty.
[X] Since you're in disadvantage here with your fire weapon, work as guardian: redirect fire with ring and keep enemy's attention on yourself.
The dude was specifically noted as not being immune to fire, their flesh burns. They may not feel as much pain as they should, and may be physically resistant, but they are not immune to fire
EDIT: Here's the Quote
Blowing flames into him doesn't work well in my opinion. All it does is introduce heat and air, but without drenching Samuel in fuel beforehand, he isn't going to catch on fire.
Samuel's actual offensive power apparently kinda sucks, if we can somehow get rid of the fire nearby for a bit, we would be able to take him down in a direct fight. Actually, with how whimsical his weapon usage is, we can use the galeforce ring to target his hand and blow the matchstick away from him.
Alternatively, I wonder how the surrounding is like. I'm assuming buildings and vendor stores are burning, maybe we can try to get one to collapse on him?
[X] Write-in another strategy
Samuel seems to want to burn - so why not let him? His pain resistance and physical resistance might be high, but Lucerne Hammers are explicitly made to bypass exactly that. We can smash the backspike of our hammer into his ankles, knees, wrists and other joints, removing his ability to move. If he attacks us while we're immobilizing him, our Galeforce Ring can help us divert the fires up, where nobody will get burned (and where they'll double as a signal flare just in case we somehow lose). And then finally we can use the hammer-head itself to smash the matchstick once he's out of gas.
[X] Fight with the others and coordinate
-[X] Use your ring to redirect flames, create openings, and with how whimsical his weapon usage is maybe even blow it away.
Smoke floats around, the scent of alcohol and the sound of sizzling meat fill the air. You think you can smell something less pleasant hidden underneath,
…
it takes a while for you to glance at your companion's plate to see what the special is. It is red meat but not pork, you can tell that much. It looks different from your own.
…
The conversation eventually returns to lighter subjects, though a question about this special they serve at the pub remains unanswered.
Once again you eye the beef with a tiny bit of wariness. You make sure to buy groceries to prevent anything untoward from going into your meals; Parvati probably noticed, going by how she rolls her eyes. Neither of you says anything, though. Everyone eats their fill, but only you and your partner grab seconds.
But also, Ciel switches to a Lucerne... and stays with the classics from Stigma Workshop. Burn is always a viable strategy. Unfortunate that they are not a maneater, else they could even make emergency rations on the go.
Looking back, I just noticed the neat coincidence that, at the same time we decided to get gifts for Parvati and help her out, we also switched to the literal people-cooking weapon that'll make all of our fights together smell delicious to her. A rather smooth move, truly a fortuitous match.
I'm not sure that it actually is E.G.O.? Unless it comes from a different Abnormality or QM is switching things up, 4th Match Flame is a canon, not an oversized matchstick.

Meh, it's been said that higher-ups tend to have mutations, probably means Samuel and others have taken so much Enkephalin that they started to ego corrode without actually having an ego, or it's a some kind of prototype/unrefined ego weapon.
