Look, I hate letting you peak behind the screen but I also hate waiting forever so I guess I'll just say that there is no way to reduce the Temple's cost further at this juncture.

There, that's the hint you get cause I still feel kind of bad about the whole not updating for a week there at the start cause I had no internet.

Oh, cool!

Makes choice easier, at least.

I'd say we can always invest 3 AP in The Temple this turn and 2 AP in either Worthy Staff/Arming the March/A Gift for the Prince or yeah, better yet, in The Scroll of Challenge, as it has no actual boosts that apply and hence can be done piecemeal.

The Temple has been The Big Project hanging in front of us for so long, I really don't think we should delay it further.

-[] The Temple - 1 AP

We absolutely should start with the major standing gains, but we can begin to chop away at the Temple too.

This has us create our staff this turn, and sets us up to both tame a white lion Turn 9 and open the Temple Turn 10.

The problem that I see with this plan is that it doesn't proc any of our traits and therefore we lose at least 1 or 2 AP worth of progress. Which reminds me the Temple only may proc Sky Servant, but to be safe I'll put up my other plans. Edited: Irrelevant points.

Temple and Staff don't have any traits to proc. Taming a Beast needs 6 total AP, so even if we put in 3AP for 2 bonus AP, it'll still need 1 more invested. I'm putting that one in now, then next turn we can do the last three.
The Temple has a '???' in its description so I'm wondering if Sky Servant may actually proc it but Volk is keeping that hidden, but that is completetly fair. On more thought I think you are correct. Consider my objections rescinded. I'm also voting for your plan.

Chrace: 6 Standing, 50 Favors
-He's a good son of the land he is. His relations are downright unfortunate, though.
Standing Reward: May hunt for a White Lion pelt from the pack of Tor Gard

House Snowmane: 6 Standing, 50 Favors
-On the one hand he continues to argue with Madame Cireon and Lord Dalos making him few friends, but on the other hand he did manage to impress the Phoenix King and so help secure our continued existence. What to think?
[] Taming a Beast: You have received permission to hunt the White Lions near Tor Gard, and that would include claiming one of them to serve as a boon companion, or a mount of sorts. You have the book of Blackfang as well, which offers mystical insight into the taming of the creature. If nothing else, it will be an excellent proving of your raw ability as a mage; and further, let you refine your magic as well as perhaps allowing you to peer further into the Book of Blackfang. (0/6 AP, gain a White Lion cub to raise as a War Lion, +2 Chrace Standing, +3 House Snowmane Standing, +20 Chrace favors, Procs Beastly Mind)
Taming a Beast will put us at Chrace Standing 8 and House Snowmane Standing 9, getting whatever bonuses that unlocks should be our top priority. As for making a staff out of the Arcane Phoenix Feather, I'm unconvinced that's the best approach. Our thing is Ghur and Azyr, if we're going to make a staff then it should be with a reagent directly related to those two. Save the Phoenix Feather for when we make our armour or enchant the White Lion Pelt.

Also, we're a Ghur mage, we can't just not have an animal companion.

Who's a good Druchi-slaying kitty? Who's a good protector of the homeland? Yes, you are!

Way too early to use the phoenix feather for anything. We can't even combine winds yet, let alone make something worthy of a tier 4 reagent.

-Tier 4: 1 Arcane Phoenix Feather (Broadly useful for all manner of enchantments)

We can already combine two winds with Art of Two, and considering we're a mage I'd argue our staff is more important than armour or a pelt.

My preference would be some kind of Qhaysh related enchantment or widespread magic buff if possible, but if not a combined Ghur/Azyr enchantment on the staff is absolutely feasible.

Personally, I'd like to at least save the feather for when we have Aqshy down.

Wouldn't getting the kitty be bad right now with so many commitments and stuff we gotta do it's basically gonna lock a training action /bonding actions with our new lion

I agree that it is far too early to use the phoenix feather, that thing melds all 8 winds and the best we can meld is 2. I advocate for saving that until we are an archmage and really know our stuff. We can make a lesser staff in the mean time to tide us over.

[X] You speak with Methelian. A part of you is still angered about how he spoke to your friend, but another part would like a fellow paranoiac around for a bevy of reasons
