    My reasoning with a lesser fragment of the arch demon is so the mc isn't too... numb? Empty? Just lying in the corner asking oneself if life worth the possible despair the future gonna give... and the hooded Stranger as a myster box of sort

    If there were three party members, I'd vote for Erin, her pure-hearted nature would be a nice contrast to the party of shady people, who all have their own demons to carry.
