When Amy woke up you thanked her for trying to help, and complimented her on her tails. You had never seen her so flustered. It was surprising. You had given her compliments while dating, but it hadn't gotten to her like that.
Cordelia was more than happy to spend time with you as you recovered. Turned out that making out did not have to require your arms. She was still happier when you started being able to use them again, but it had definitely been enjoyable to smooch with her while you healed up.
Things seemed to grow intense as the end of the school year approached. There wasn't anything in particular you could place your finger on. You were getting along with your friends and spending time with them. Oz and Amy were bonding over both not being human, even if Amy still preferred keeping up an illusion to make herself look human. You hoped that it was just habit, and not because she was uncomfortable with what she was.
School was going well too. At this point your parents had a house again, and you could move back, but you quietly didn't mention that to Giles, and Giles didn't bother asking about it either. You were hoping heavily he'd forget that this was supposed to be temporary, and it seemed he was fine with you staying there semi temporarily. But that wasn't the source of the tension either.
The air just felt thick, like it was all waiting for something. That something was supposed to happen, but the shoe refused to drop.
