Cool. I'll try to get a sheet put together this afternoon if work continues to be as slow as it has all day.
I kinda feel like the claw attacks don't fit her, as far as we have seen them.
The claws and Natural Armor bonus can be replaced with this:
Those are some useful spells, plus the +1 bonus DC to her Enchantment spells would be helpful.

Wyrmwitch – d20PFSRD

Since we haven't had a draconic character for several quests, maybe it's time?
That one doesn't really seem to fit her, IMO. And the treasure hoard seems like a significant vulnerability.

Dreamweaver archetype seems to fit her, don't you think?
I'm not a fan of that. Just because it's a Changeling archetype doesn't make it a good fit for Mina. The mechanics of it are kind of odd and clumsy, IMO.

What about the Ley Line Guardian archetype? It's the same one Inge had from AoIaB, so not exactly new to us, but it has its selling points. Sorcerer casting means more spell slots per day at the expense of losing prepared casting. It also doesn't use a Familiar, which could represent Mina drastically changing her magical paradigm due to the trauma of losing Pepper. Would take some finagling to make it work, though, depending on how DP wants to handle it.

Or we could do something like Synergist. Mina losing Pepper becomes even more tragic then, since he could have melded with her for safety if he hadn't been trying to protect her.

Synergist – d20PFSRD

Hex Channeler is interesting, too. It's pretty simple, just exchanging a 2nd level Hex for the ability to Channel Energy like a Cleric. That's solid AoE healing and it can be used against Undead in a pinch.

I'm kinda leaning toward Hex Channeled simply because it's a simple change and the mechanics are easy to deal with. Also, since the effects don't kick in until 2nd level, it fits well for Mina now. Also fits because she grew up in a temple of a Good-aligned goddess, so her developing the ability to Channel Energy is on theme.

Nice to get insight into Mina, and that she does see party as friend despite origins. Hope we all stick together.

Now that I think about it, I don't like Hex Channeler.

Not interesting enough to be fair. Maybe she can ve a normal witch? To be relevant she needs to sacrifice her future hexes and I don't like it, because it loses flavor as a witch then.

Good point. I missed that part of the archetype on my first read through.

I'm fine with her not having an archetype.

What I'm disappointed about is that she won't be able to have a Figment-Sage combo Familiar, since Witches can't have Figment Familiars.

Any chance of an exception to that, @DragonParadox? It would be neat if Mina's longing for her dead Familiar reacted with her magic and recreated him as what is essentially an imaginary friend, one that can't be permanently taken away from her again.

She is liked to dreams through her hex. Maybe her familiar simply reincarnates from her dreams, but it is actually the spirit of the cat?

I mean, use the mechanics, but a different flavor

Hmm... yeah I can work with that given what I had in mind with her history.

Less so than a living Familiar I think.

And it's mechanically nice, allowing her to cast a free spell among all known spells once per day.

So far she has very little definition and the power of speech is definitly not strange for a dragon-association.

I like the idea of Ghost Kitty as a Familiar.

Though if we found a Displacer Beast Kitten for her.... That would be so cool!

Ooh! Could have Kitty Ghost possess the Displacer Beast Lol!

Gotcha. One more question, would Mina having some Diplomacy focus go against what you've envisioned for her?

She was an isolated orphan, diplomacy does not work for her right now, though having it as a class skill and taking it later is valid. Keep in mind how she looks though, it is not likely many people would be that inclined to listen to her without some kind of magical disguise.

Here's what I have for Mina's build so far.

The first standout is swapping out the Changeling claws and Natural Armor for Hag Magic. That's the best way to handle this, IMO, since what we've seen so far of her appearance wouldn't work if she kept those features. Hag Magic is pretty nice, too. Disguise Self is useful and has a decent duration, and Pass Without Trace is great for a Stealth-focused party like ours. The duration is great and in just a few levels she'll be able to affect the whole party with it simultaneously.

For Traits, Child of the Temple is kinda a 'meh' trait, but it fits really well for Mina, having been raised in a temple. The rest of her traits, Mediator and Precise Treatment tie back into her upbringing nicely, too, as does the Naive drawback. The Mediator trait gives a +1 bonus to Diplomacy, but that's not really worth paying any attention to without any points or class bonus invested into the skill. The big draw is that it boosts the save DC of certain Enchantment effects, such as Sleep or the Slumber Hex. This one will come in handy for many levels, as there are lots of spells that are eligible for the bonus.

Combine the bonus from Mediator with the Potent Hex feat and Mina's Slumber Hex has a save DC of 16. That's really solid for a 1st level character, and it'll just get better as her level and Intelligence continue to increase.

Not really sure what to do with her Patron, though. I've got Healing slotted in for now because it seems like a good overall fit, but anything that makes sense is good with me if ya'll have a preference. Never mind, DP already confirmed that she has the Spirits Patron.

DP gave approval for Mina to eventually restore her Familiar as a Figment, which is not normally allowed for Witches. That'll prevent him from ever being taken away from her again, since even if destroyed he'll be restored the next time she sleeps. Stacking the Sage Familiar archetype on top of Figment doesn't start off amazing, but it will quickly become very nice as Pepper's Intelligence increases. Eventually, Pepper will be like having a Loremaster-lite in Mina's pocket.

The caster level of these spell-like abilities is equal to the changeling's character level. The DC for these spell-like abilities is equal to 10 + the spell's level + the changeling's Charisma modifier. This racial trait replaces the claws and natural armor racial abilities.
