Dueling Fate

A/N: Sorry for the delay, both Kreen and Myself have been run off our feet with work. To compensate for our absence, here's a piece of art made by the ever amazing @Wistways capturing Lind. While she does her own art and you could get in touch and ask for a commission, she's also a great...
Use the Master Doc at the bottom of the sheet from now, it's up to date

I feel taking a cultivation class might give us a free cultivation roll or two. I'm also keen on learning pillmaking because 1) it works well with our cultivation style, and 2) I don't think I've seen a pillmaking protagonist in one of these quests before, would be pretty neat.

[ ] Plan: Immediate Social and Long Term Classes
-[ ] As a member of the Golden Reeds you are now able to access training and lessons from Elders and highly regarded Seniors of the Sect.
--[ ] Cultivation is the foundation of your path, lessons are held by the riverbanks of the great lake each morning.
Sect.
--[ ] Pillmakers can earn lucrative contracts both inside and outside the sect. Being able to create your own pills is a boon that would aid your style of cultivation greatly.
-[ ] Wu Chanying is getting to business immediately. She has suggested that the two of you meet and discuss the potential for an alliance of sorts in the first task.
-[ ] Vijaya has sent a letter inviting you to a spar, curious to see if you have improved since your initial spar at the sect.
-[ ] Mehdi stormed out of the hut the other night and seems reticent to take part in any of Senior Xiu's training, perhaps you should speak to him and find out his concerns?

[X] Plan: Kicking Butt, Socializing and Learning to Break Bad

Actually yeah it'd be fun to have a pillmaker MC, especially since we can effectively forage on our own.

We should attend the Martial training as well, with our 8 strength it would be kind of a waste not to. Maybe not this turn, but certainly in the next.

Pretty much CoreBrutes plan, but with Martial training instead of Merchant girl social. I am not sure our teammates would be too happy with us deciding things like that.

Edit: Sorry for double posting, didn't mean to do that.

I dont really want lind to be a pillmaker tbh. Hunter and part time sailor is what id prefer. Especially since we plan for him to be a wanderer.

I get your point, but I think we should attend at least 1 class to find out if pillmaking can be done portably or if it requires a stationary lab. Because pillmaking on the go could work out really nicely for a wanderer hunter build.

If we go hunting far from civilization, we don't need to drag the carcass back to town when it's spoiled, we can make pills from it on the spot. Even better if we can do it on a boat.

Pills are a great form of currency in itself in lands where our silver might not be accepted, not to mention help someone in need with a healing pill.

Also they're a great way to adapt to different situation-we can make a pill of night vision if we're going to a deep cave, and a pill to survive without water when we go into a desert.

I think pillmaking can just be a useful tool in our belt to help the wanderer lifestyle, rather than something that defines us as a shut in Walter White.

Both of these plans seem to only have 5 actions, you can spend 6.
Dang I think you're right!

@ArcanaVitae What should the 6th action be? Cultivate Rising Arrow? Socialize with a friend? Look at the Job Board?

Not my plan, it's Vitae's, but hey why don't we combine the plans since they're both an action short? We do combat training and meeting the merchant girl!

Looks good @Soup ?

Honestly a little bit too many social actions for me, but it hink its the best I am going to get.

I like the idea of learning pillmaking, I just don't think now is the right time for it.

We have three weeks until the first task, so I'd rather focus on that first then go to the pill class afterwards.

Medhi and Yan are both important to do, the former because we're the main person he knows on the team and the latter because if we're going to work together we should get to know him.

Silent Rhythm I want to start this week because it's not a physical technique (IIRC?) so it's going to be harder to raise than our fighting style, and because I want to use it in a hunt before the first task.

To be fair, I don't know how classes will work in this quest. In some, if you miss the first lesson you lose on some important lore. So I'm perhaps a little anxious to get started on this class, perhaps unnecessarily. But I don't want to wait 3 weeks before learning pill making. Once we put it off that long, quest inertia means we'll keep putting it off and never get to it.

Besides, maybe we'll make a pill to help us win the first test.

Still I respect your opinion.

But it could be a good idea to go to the first pillmaking lesson to learn more about how much time we should expect it to need.
We currently know nothing about it, especially not how much of a time investment it is.
Trivial pills might not be worth it for many people, but Devouring Crucible might tip the balance there.

Fighting Styles:
Valiant Champion Style Level 3: +2 Unarmed Damage, +2 Unarmed Combat (Incorporated), -2 Defense Dice, +4 Attack Dice
Fighting Styles:
Valiant Champion Style Level 3: +3 Unarmed Damage, +2 Unarmed Combat (Incorporated), -2 Defense Dice, +4 Attack Dice
The Valiant Champion Level 3 15/20
The character sheet has the style give us +2 unarmed damage, but the quote from the second demon hand fight has it at +3.
