[X] Rest until morning. You are thirsty and tired, but a good night's rest will get you back up to speed, and approaching the village at night seems like a bad idea.

Yeah, this seems like the best option.

Interlude 2.2
You awake, thirsty, tired, and hungry. But as you force your eyes open, you are reminded of how close you were to your goal. Summoning your crowbar, you pull yourself to your feet, and after stumbling to your feet, slowly make your way towards town.

To avoid spooking the locals, your approach toward the town is slow and measured. Even if a walking stick might have been nice, you decided against visible weapons.

As you near the farms, you are quickly spotted by the local farmers. One young man is sent toward the center of town.

By the time you reach the gates, you are met with a cadre of hastily armed men, who seem to relax a little as you get closer.

One of them, an older seeming gentleman with flecks of pale blonde in his flaming red hair stepped forward, a large blade in one hand.

He looks you up and down, his shoulders relaxing in relief after a little while.

"You don't appear to be a servant of Conaing, what is your business here?"

A/N: The next Main post will be the one where you get accepted into the town, however many interludes it takes.

having a trade would open up more doors. reminder we have no money and people are more talkative to people they do business with than a complete stranger. so overall better idea than being a no named wanderer that may or may not be a spy from some other god.

"I am a lost traveler, looking for shelter"

The hoarse words leave your dusty throat as you look at the leader. And even as stoic as he is, a flash of sympathy flashes across his face.

The leader directs his men to check you for any weapons, and after they have a short discussion that you barely catch hints of, you are welcomed into the village.

You are soon taken to one of the round buildings and eventually given some food, in the form of a porridge of some sort. You find the meal bland, but quite warm and filling. That, and some water that you slowly make your way through leaves you feeling much better.

Refreshed, and feeling a lot better now that you have been fed and watered, you wander the town to get a little better of an idea of where you have found yourself.

You are immediately struck with the fact that several of the homes are damaged, with large holes blasted out of the structures. Other homes have patches that seem newer than others. You even note that one of the fields has been entirely overrun.

Beyond that, you see that one of the destroyed buildings seems to have been a basic forge of some kind, with the remains of the forge of some kind and several pieces of metal packed under some loose covers.

You eventually find yourself back at the building where you started. As you are about to enter the room, your mind is once again whisked away to that strange place, and you reach out. This time grasping at one of the smaller nodes.

Good boost to start with

Some people have indicated they want to save points for some future perk that is worth more, but my strategy is the opposite... anything that looks useful I will vote to keep.

[ X][PLAN] Ask about the damage to the village

let's find out how dangerous this place is before we see if we want to find work...

There are much better speed perks and I'd prefer something that would make a qualitative difference. Plus, this would be hard to hide, and obscurity is our best defense right now.

[X][PLAN] Ask for some work

We need a way to get some resources to set up a workshop, maybe in the forest or in a cave somewhere. Mostly food, clothes, and general amenities our current powers can't make easily yet. Once we have enough resources and the knowledge of how to survive on our own, it'll be time to strike out and start building.

Hmm. Don't believe in the power of fiat? because the perk itself says there would be no negative repercussions, which should include those associated with not hiding our speed.

Also, I don't actually see where there are better speed perks in the document used for this quest. "Accelerated Timeline" and "I don't need no help" would both be similarly hard to hide, and don't actually come with the no negative repercussions guarantee.

I should specify that the 'no repercussions' thing was intended to refer to the end work - i.e. no repercussions from shorter curing times for epoxy and whatnot.

That said, it would extend to no repercussions for stealth either. If you are trying to disguise how long you are working on something, people just wouldn't think anything was suspicious of you having completed things too quickly unless you specifically called attention to it.

Awakening 4
You feel your grasp close in on the mote, and rather than something appearing in the not-space from which you summon your tools, you feel it settling into you infusing your body with a new strength.

Even the action of sitting up feels easier to you.

Rested now, you go looking for someone to answer your questions.

Eventually, you run into the woman who had given you the food earlier, and after some small talk, you ask them about the damage to the town.

The woman looks sadly at one of the destroyed buildings before rallying herself.

"The Evil God Conaing stole us away from our homeland generations ago when the Tuatha de Danann drove him and the other Fomorians away. He traps us here and lets us grow so that he may hunt us for sport. Every thirteen years, his servants ride out of the forest and pillage and plunder, taking what they wish."

She shook her head sadly, "You must be from far away to have escaped the wrath of the Hunt. This damage was from almost a decade ago when the magical chariots came to drive us from our homes. I was nearly taken then, but I hid deep in a cave in the woods until they left."

You nod solemnly, unable to truly comprehend living in fear like that.

The two of you sit down quietly for a while as you consider your next move.

And as you do, you feel yourself reach out once again.

[A/N: Couldn't really justify interludes and you have made progress, so I'm going to move on to the next objective]

You talk a little, and manage to build a connection with the young woman, who you learn is called Bridgitte.

What do you do now?
[ ][PLAN] Bridgitte is going out to the woods to forage for some food and invites you to help

@Kahalah

So, I counted the votes manually last time, but please don't leave spaces in your votes, that will not get counted. Additionally, please do not put two of the check boxes, since that may make it count as a different vote.
