Next, I spend my 14 Shock! I will spend 2x6 to create an environmental die for "Flack Fire" - the motherships guns guns guns! This creates a double die of doom! 2 (for radius) and 6 (for danger), counting up, centered on the current furball. Everyone in that radius (which is the BFS and 9 bandits) takes 6 damage + the scale of their vehicles, for a total of 12 damage! This is nothing for the blades, but 2 damage for the bandits! this, sadly, does nothing...FOR NOW! (it will make it easier to blow them up, because the damage hasn't been resolved yet.)
Huh, is Shock supposed to aid us?

Something to remember is that one of our powers gives a 'Jury Rig' oomph, so if a single system is down or damaged we can use percussive maintenance to get it working for a round. So we should try to delay damage to more than one system whenever possible.

CHAPTER THREE: The Great Wastelands (0.6)
A few seconds in a fight can have a lot happening all at the same time.

Ajora jerked hard on her controls and the RCS thrusters kicked her in the ass so hard that she felt her spine compacting and her jaw clacking together. Everything went gray.

The armor plating rattled and pinged as mass rounds failed to penetrate - the entire superstructure of the fighter ringing as if it were a bell, struck hard by blacksmith with a grudge against the concept of metal.

At almost the same time, a resounding crunch rang through the whole cockpit and several dozen lights flared red all at once. The momentary halt in acceleration - couneracted by the impact against the nose of the craft - slammed Ajora into her restraints, which bit deep against her flight suit. She rocked back, then the pass was done.

It had all taken so little time that her brain felt as if it was still bouncing around inside of her skull. Her flight-suit hissed and something hit her system, clearing away cobwebs and foggy confusing, replacing it with clarity and focus. Ajora reached up, wiped a bit of blood from her nose, then checked the console. Her long ranged and short ranged sensors showed nothing but a hissing array of sparks and a thin line of smoke coming from the edge of the console. Her HUD showed tracer lines of contacts, but they jumped and danced around before her eyes. Ajora hissed, tossed them out of the way with a jerk of her head, and brought up the rest of the schematics.

One of the mass rounds had slammed through her left optics and the right optics had been so damaged by the shrapnel that they were entirely out of alignment. The auto-repair systems were trying to correct, but...

Through the screen, she saw four gull-winged shapes - corvette sized, bright yellow paint with blue markings along their sides, leaving behind double lines of contrails. They were moving in a tight formation, escorted by several Blades as they cut into the furball with bravery that she honestly...had to admit was pretty fucking insane, considering they had absolutely no guns at all. Mass rounds pinged off one of their armored frames with a series of red flashes, leaving behind glowing scars.

They were heading for one of the Assassins.

...I'm pretty sure this is the optimal move, and I hope we can get Ajora stable enough for similar choices to be in character.

Something of note about the HEAT system is running an Econ round can be a smart choice during critical moments due to how enemy reactions work (4 getting to react when a player uses a power, only 1 getting to act when a player passive cools down.) Not as flashy, for sure, but we got a new chip wagered on this table so tapping the brakes for a moment can keep it far safer than hitting the gas even harder. My strategy is to go All Gas No Brakes as setup and follow through for Power Moments, but coasting during those Power Moments to limit the Enemy response.

As a note: One of the options says "make as many jerry rigs as you can without heat" but I forgot, Ajora doesn't have the repair skill, so she'll HAVE to take at least some heat to do it, ahhhh!

Well, this is what happens mechanically. The actual actions could be Ajora baiting and peeling the Bandits off of everything else and onto her by disabling one and forcing them to break formation again, which would also justify how they are getting fewer actions as she is focusing on keeping them on her and hemmed in instead of just flooring it into full offense mode.

She did just force two Assassins to miss their shots after all.
