We don't have a minimum length requirement persay but at least 500 words wouldn't be a terrible goal just in general there's no harm in shorter or longer though
Steeling any nerves, and smoothing out your clothes, you take a step to greet your potential new friends, or enemies.
Your garrison Imps begin clearing from your path as you walk to your beaches.
"Shh, did you hear that Kanna?"
"Hear what Chialla? All I hear is your clumsy ass footsteps!"
"Quit trying to bullshit me I know you heard those damn screams!"
"You're both idiots those are obviously birds,"
"No one asked you Nadia!"
…What on Earth are they doing? You are forced to wonder as you quite effortlessly trail the small gaggle of abyssals.
As they get closer to the headquarters, you raise an eyebrow at their lack of awareness. Are these not submarines?
So you give them a little assistance, clearing your throat. "Yes?"
"Fuck!" The one they called Chialla curses as she nearly jumps out of her skin. "It's a Queen! I knew we were being fucking watched!"
"No shit, Chialla. By the goddess…" Kanna says, pushing up her glasses.
"Can it, girls." The taller, elder sounding submarine chides, before smirking at you with a fading look of manic confidence. "Your majesty," She seems to get caught on the Royal wordage. You also find it harsh on your ears. "My, our, mother sent us to wake you up in case the enemy tried to attack our home." She points with a hand towards the mainland, in the direction you know the city of Manila is in.
In fact, you are well aware of it, as one of the sea defenses in charge of protecting it. Or perhaps her in this case?
"And if I had refused to awaken?" your question purposely coached in a slightly aggressive style to gauge how they react.
"T-then we would have had to wake you by force," the confidence drained from Mania's face as she replied, fully aware of how badly that likely would have gone for them. She wasn't shaking like her companions were as she stared resolutely at you, good you can make use of this.
"Mhm.. So then, what, pray tell, would have been the plan afterwards?"
"If you had resisted and we had successfully weakened you we would have been tasked to bring you before mother and she would judge all of our fate, if you defeated us that would be that, mother wouldn't send anyone to avenge us,"
"Very well I admire your resolve, if not your intelligence. Now, what will you do now that I am awakened?" You inquire in a much kinder tone.
"Well we were given the option to either bring you to Mother or act as a loaned fleet for you until Mother built a proper escort for you, your majesty." There's the grating words again.
"Mhm. So I'm definitely not leaving my island so that's those options out."
"Then all we can do is act as your fleet until she sends a radio fleet to communicate with you directly."
You sigh as they don't seem to understand that you're beholden to no one but you would humor them for now as you nod and motion for them to follow you back to your awakening room. And as for now? Well, the place looks like it's been sitting unattended for nigh on seventy years. Time to see what a good ol dose of spring cleaning can do.
Pirate Radio: 99+11= 110 (critical success)
<<"Static…RK-19, Suffered Heavy Air and Sea strikes, Missiles exhausted, SGs have begun interdiction.">>
<<"I wouldn't be so sure, cousin, another piece has appeared on the board…">>
You stare in bewilderment as the radio you had meant to create for short range purposes picked up a broadcast from Singapore and somewhere else before you shut it off as it started to pick up some morse code signals. You knew Zeniths were good but this good? Must have been the power flowing through it. You really hope it doesn't blow the fuse.

Anonymity is the best defense: 31+13=44 (pass)
Compared to your success with the radio, getting your imps to set up camouflaging for your base proves to be a much harder challenge as quite a few of them once brought off high alert from the Submarine gaggle's incursion proved to be some of the laziest people you've ever seen. Finally you set Mania on the construction imps with a carved branch to provide some motivation. They had just broken ground on the beginnings of some underground fortifications when you called them off. (Enemies now suffer a -10 malus to targeting your base)
Survey your island: 24+13=37 (pass)
Your Imps' first survey of your island was fairly dismal, all things told. They found little that was of use and your guns in that sector were in a sad state of disrepair due to what you could only attribute to lack of maintenance. They did bring back some resources that looked like they could be useful, and you had a sneaking suspicion they were meant to maintain the guns themselves at one point. Well, they were, but now there were more pressing matters at hand, so they were now pushed into the stockpile along with the rest. (Gained 75 RUs)
A Tent is good too: 53+15=68 (Autopass)
Something else that sprang to mind was setting up an area, however slapdash, to bring tech up to standard with the fleets sailing about, because these current gun positions did not seem viable going forward if the brief flashes of memory were anything to go by. So you set up some imps to bring one of the subs in for study and potential reverse engineering of the tech in use. You decided to put it alongside the "machine shop" as it was called, At the moment both of these were in a tunnel which was blocked part of the way in by some of said wreckage, so they were at least sheltered. As the underground expansion commenced, these could be moved underground fully. But that was for a later time. (Research options Unlocked)
Setting up the Machine Shop: 50+15=65 (Autopass)
Essentially a scrapping station that brought in twisted hulks and wreckage from all over the island and converted it into usable resources for more improvements, your machine shop should quite nicely provide you with a small but steady source of resources. And maybe if you built a couple more, you'd be well off even! The only problem would be space on your island for them all, so you couldn't build too many, and there would eventually be no more scrap left on the island, but that's a future problem. (Income stream obtained: 75 RUs per turn) (4/5 income building slots remaining)

You take up your rigging as the submarine gaggle calls your personal guns and equipment and take aim at a target floating in the water. It was a makeshift thing created out of old timber and some paint you had but it would have to do. You opened fire and then blinked as the target stubbornly continued to float despite the holes you placed in it. (27/250 XP)
(Before we start do make note that i have never made a sidestory before)
A story of amputee's and engineering.
"Oi! Joe the fuck is that thing" i say while pointing my only arm at the thing? he's made.
It kinda looked like a pair of Marlin Rockwell M1917 machine gun's and a 37mm M1916 that where chained thogether and made to point to the heaven's.
"That thing is my beautiful sky sweeper!" Joe said pating the thing like it was his own child.
"You're off you're rocker Joe that thing ain't gonna hit nothing...and is that a paint shell?" i said looking Joe dead in the eye since he only got 1.
"Yup i took this beuty out for a spin on the same target as the fort" he said.
"How much ammo did you use...and how many shot's did hit?" i asked him.
"Oh i'd say 2000 and 40 and i hit round 75% of em" he said
"So 1000 round's per machine gun and 40 shell's for the 37" i said
"That sound's about right yeah...so how is that project going that you and the other amputee's cooked up?" he asked
"Eh fine i suppose" i said
In reality it was comeing along pretty well i mean we had some blueprint bit's (for a M1917 light tank if i remember right) to base it on and we have already found a Liberty L-12A to power it.
And we have already scroundged up a 75mm to arm it and the hull is about 50% finished so it's well on it's way to being done.

For now take a +5 for a roll of your choice it's not bad for a first attempt though we'll be going over it more tomorrow to see if this warrants more
Thanks for being the first omake!

Diplomacy and Intrigue (Choose 1 Action):
[] Transmit: With your Zenith radio up and running you can transmit yourself to the world, why would you do so? Who knows maybe you felt like being a radio star or something. Success: Variable, Cost: 0
[] Listen In: With your new radio set up you can now silently listen in for anything unusual on the airwaves. Success: Variable, Cost: 0
[] Scout: You may be stuck on your island for now but you can send a handful of your more discrete troops to scout out nearby locations. Success: 50%, Cost: 0 Reward: Variable
[] A Dot, A Dash: You picked up a morse code signal before you turned your radio off and a quick check shows it's still going with some dedication and referring to your old manuals you could attempt to decode the message. Success: 60% Cost: 0 Reward: Knowledge
Martial (Choose 2 Actions):
[] Laying the Foundation: Well, your imps got you a start on the digging, but let's see if you can whip them into some better shape. You should probably spend some resources for actual drills, picks, and infrastructure if you're gonna make another attempt, along with perhaps some ground scanners for finding the old tunnels, because you could have sworn there were some around. It'll take a long while, but it should get done with your enforcement of "labor standards". Success: 70%Cost: 200 RU and 50 RU upkeep for the following 2 turns for excavation work Reward: +10 Income building slots
[] Survey your island: Send troops out to locate points of interest or places to set up defenses around your island. Success: 90% Cost: 0 RU (Can be taken 4 more times)
[] Reform Lines, Quick March!: You need troops, and you need them badly, you're force is spread thin just manning your defenses as an oddly understrength garrison force. Since you don't have any barracks currently you'll have to train a small group yourself. Success: 100% Cost: 20 RU Reward: 2 Infantry Squad (5 HP/5 MG DMG/40 EVA/1 ARM)
[] Get those guns up and running again Private!: An undefended island is usually a captured one, and right now, you have not many guns ready to see off invaders. With some resources, you should be able to bring a battery online and ready for service. +4 Coastal guns (5 HP/ 10 CAN DMG/ 10 EVA) Cost: 100 RU, Can be taken 5 times total
[] If it flies it Dies!: Your 1 AA position was long gone by this point, and it was well out of the effective range of anything useful, so a new method was needed. A pair of 1.1" quad guns should do the trick at every main gun position. Current positions open for accepting anti-air: Ramsey and Morrison. +4 AA Groups (7HP/ 12 MG DMG/ 10 EVA) Cost: 40 RU, can be taken 2 times
Stewardship (Choose 2 Actions):
[] Clean up your island: While not ruins, your base has been neglected over the years of your sleep. Send some forces out to clean it up and hopefully find something useful. Success: 65% Reward: Variable
[] Setting up the Machine Shop: Use some of your resources to set up a machine shop, they somehow pull resources from the planet and transform them into materials for your WAR machine. Costs: 75 RUs (4 income building slots remaining) Reward: +150 Income
[] In Gods, we Trust: Knowing there are gods out there watching us means that perhaps you can win their favor and commune with them in specially constructed places. A shrine to the god that woke you up should do for the moment. Cost: 100 RU Reward: Unlock Piety
[] I'll make a Marine out of You: Your initial cadre of infantry imps is sizeable but you'll need more to properly man your defenses and run all your land missions so you've come up with a simple solution, build up some training tents so you'll always have fresh recruits to torment train. Cost: 100 RU Reward: Unlocks Efficient Infantry Training
Piety (Choose 1 Action):
Locked. No proper building available
Research (Choose 2 Actions):
[] Ocean-front Property: Historically, the North Dock was home for Elco's and other PT boats, but it was quite bare nowadays. Though perhaps it could have a new use. Your Imps are helpful at machining despite how they act, maybe they can make a facsimile of a PT boat for quick fleet expansion, although building the requisite construction slips would take time. Success: 70% Cost: 75 RU Reward: Unlock PT Boat Factory
[] I See You: You knew what Radar was, you'd heard that Clark Field up north had one before she went quiet, but you didn't have one of your own or how to build one. Fortunately, one member of your fleet did have one, and it'd only take a few bits of reverse engineering for the potential to construct one of your own. Of course, wrangling them might be a bit tricky. Success: 55% Cost: 60 RU Reward: Unlock Radar Array Building
[] A base without it's head cannot stand: You've been running your operations from a rubble filled building that had a surviving desk, it groaned and creaked when you so much as looked at it and it's high time you put in the effort to design yourself a new headquarters provided your engineers can stop messing around. Success: 70% Cost: 125 RU Reward: Unlocks build Headquarters
[] Piano Tuning: Your "new" 1.1" AA guns are to be completely honest utter trash. Right now they're barely maintained, and at least one has worse feeding issues than usual, but maybe you could find a quick fix to at least make the magazines feed with regularity, even if the fire rate is still bad. Success: 70% Cost: 50 RU Reward: AA Groups +3 MG DMG
[] Standardization of Shells: Right now all your coastal guns are split between various sizes and calibers and while this is fine you feel that you could make this more efficient by choosing a singular size for logistical reasons while keeping your firepower the same. Success: 65% Cost: 75 RU Reward: Coastal Guns +5 CAN DMG
[] We Found Some New Tools: Your imps have been complaining that all their tools are rusty pieces of junk making your machine shops produce less than they should, maybe you should research how to make new ones so they'll quit complaining and for more income. Success: 80% Cost: 75 RU Reward: +50 RU output to income buildings
Personal (Choose 1 options)
[] Train: You're newly awakened and your skills aren't what they could be, so its time to get down and dirty to get up to snuff.

so i did some research not much admittedly but as far i can tell the island of corregidor was only protected from air attack by 3-inch anti-aircraft guns (most likely a mix of M3 and M1918) and .50 cals.
so i took a look at wikipedia and they mention a single 1.1-inch quad mount being "donated" to the army being moved to corregidor.

Honestly, I feel we should at least unlock the piety action. My plan is focused on building tall before going wide. focusing on the naval guns and setting up the economy along with training up enough troops to man the guns.
Sorry about no discussion but this week has been busy for a lot of quests so far and in this one... Not sure how else to start a discussion.
since we are Corregidor island. We control the entrance to Manilla bay since you have to past us to enter it. So we're in a good position to harass to block movement but considering the state we are in I think Humanity was forced to abandon the Philippines since there isn't any new fortifications that would indict humanity trying to fortify or protect Manilla with new tech or even trying to bring the base back up to its old purpose.
I think we'll start learning next turn when we listen in or broadcast out. Before that though, I would agree we pair that with the PT boat factory or crash build our defenses and keep to our role as a base and rely on our defenses.
First I would like to say thanks for making an alternate plan we really appreciate it!
Secondly we do have some plans to make sure the world is explored and the situation becomes clearer as turns progress.
I just wanna let you know why i didn't chose to unlock piety it's because i fear that the abyssals would take it as an insult declare us an enemy and if 1 of those submarine's get away we have a war our hand's...and honestly i think it's to early for that shit.

You'd be right! With the rise of the goddess Altreyia's forces in the Pacific, the Philippines split into two between American allied or insane "monarchies"

Mind, and this is spoilers, only Manila knows you exist.
Even then its cause she thinks she woke you up, rather than her Deity awakening you.
The goddesses know, but the only one who would reveal you is in the Atlantic.
And like Weaving said - If anyone else knows, you're one of the defensive fortifications to Manila herself. She's likely lied that you've been awake or fortified for as long as she herself has been building up for protection.
I should mention though we haven't edited them in to the informational post for your forces yet, for some time those 5 submarines are under your command and will obey y'all to most extents
(And just to make it clear the pov character is a oc)

A story of amputee's, war trophies, shooting, and engineering.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
I put down my revolver on the table in front of me again.
Adjusting the brim of my M1917A1 helmet.
I bend over to pick up my carbine, i grab it by the barrel brace it on the table, tuck the stock into my shoulder.
Ready, aim, fire.
15 shot's later i am riseing from my seat and slinging my carbine over my shoulder and holstering my revolver when i hear a truck comeing to a stop besides me.
"Hey! Will! haveing fun on the range i see" i hear someone say behind me.
I turn around to see Joe in a "Is that a Bloody M3 Scout Car!? Where the #### did you get it?" I ask/screamed at him.
"So i got a Radio like you asked me to get" he said looking slightly nervous.
"Lovely weather we're haveing...i saw you haveing some fun with you're war trophie what's it called again?" He said/asked while lightly sweating.
"fine...it's a Type 26 revolver...and stop dodgeing the question Joe! Where did you get the car?" I said/ask.
"Ok Ok calm down...i found it almost completely buried near the 10-inch battery" Joe said.
"Also what Radio did you get?" I ask.
"It's a uh um...oh yeah i got a SCR-189...and would you like a lift?" He asked.
"Yeah the lieutenant is expecting me i got a report to turn in and a demonstration to start" i said.
"What's that in the back by the way?" I ask.
"Oh well i found some 1-pounder Mark 7 autocannon's and thought why not put em in the back...and why not pick a few of em apart try to make some blueprint's for em and i did but the blueprint's aren't exactly in the best condition" he said.
"There is piss and whisky and blood stains on em aren't there?" Asked.
"What the!? How the?! How did you know?" He asked.
"Joe this happen's every time you try to make blueprint's you shoulda learned that by now" i said.
I see him nod at my word's.
The trip to the Lieutenant's office is fairly quite and it only take's me a few minute's of walking to reach his door after leaving Joe outside.
Knock Knock.
"Come in"
I open the door.
"Sir i am here to hand in my report" i state as i enter.
"Well what are you waiting for hand it over" he says
I reach under my helmet and pull out an envelope and place it on his desk.
"If it's alright i'll be takeing my leave now sir" i said
"Ah yes you better hurry don't want to delay that demonstration any longer i hear my colleague is getting a bit restless waitng for it to start" he said
"So what gun's did the men actually find?" Joe asked when i got back in the car.
"I think they found some 3"/23-caliber gun's and their blueprint" i said.
And we will be ending the talk here.
The reason why the demonstration couldn't start without will is that he has the key to the test range 3" ammo locker.
(I will also put armor value's for the project here)
Hull upper front 76mm,hull lower front 75mm, turret front 70mm, hull sides 65mm, turret sides 57mm, turret top 50mm, hull top 47mm, turret rear 40mm, hull rear 37mm, hull bottom 30mm.
