Actually maybe it would be best to start us of with Great War era equipment so a few nat 100s and really good rolls won't make us too strong early on.

Question is our garrison useing .45-70 Government, .30-40 Krag or .30-06 Springfield? I am asking since our infantry equipment could be a lot older or newer then our artillery.

Irrelevant, but US Fort, restored to her 1940 state.

This is a fort built in 1910, and being restored to 1940 status. Her Infantry is probably Fluffed with Springfields, Carbines and Garands.

Thanks for the vote CC but sadly voting did end Two days ago.

This vote is still greatly appreciated though.

Huh this seems interesting, I wonder how it'll go?

Though I also see Fort Drum was brought up. Granted that did get captured by Japan for awhile and fire was later involved to recapture it. I just recall a Mysteries of the Abandoned episode involving it.

Well i don't think we can be Fort Drum seeing as the list the quest master left up above says we don't have any 14-inch artillery pieces which is what's in Fort Drum's turrets.

Whoops, shoulda read further. Sorry about that

Don't worry~

To Be Fair, she was in contention for the US fortress Option until we decided on the current fort. :3

So i did some wikipedia diveing and now think we are Fort Mills...am i wrong quest master?

(And yes the artillery list did give me a clue so thank you for that)

Post 2: Title TBD
"As you may remember, the world has changed in the 70 or so years since war and fire raged across the world, since you fell dormant, only being made a training ground for troops..." The woman raises a hand, showing multiple scenes of events of which you sadly do not have the context for.

Yet. You had every intention of getting those answers one way or another.

"I have reawakened you in this time because my mother sleeps, and my sister intends to allow her dreams to be peaceful, free of Humanity's blight by killing them. I disagree, I believe this would only bring our dearest mother pain, and thus I have called upon you, o'noble hero, to aid in our defense of what my mother holds dear." She folds her hands. "I will not force you to follow my will, I will only ask. I can not say the same for my darling baby sister, but if I am to truly be our mother's successor, I must show some willingness to allow the free will granted upon my subjects to flow."

"I… See" You mutter dazed, "But I… Who am I, what am I"

"A Savior or Harbinger of destruction. A being brought forth by the hopes and prays of your people, by the rage and hatred of the forgotten and my sister." The woman explains cryptically, "You are the manifestation of the spirit of a great fortress that was abandoned during the initial conflicts of humanity's fight for survival, one of many though the first that I myself have awakened."

"Then I have a name?" You question, feeling a part of yourself yearning to connect to something.

"You did yes, though I fear that if I tell you it now it might influence your decision," She explains looking troubled, "Should you wish it I shall tell you, though you also have the option of choosing a new name and not beholding yourself to any past allegiances that your old life had."

[ ] Ask what your old name was

[ ] Decide on a new name
  • [ ] Write-in Name

After you made your decision you feel better, you have a name now, you aren't just some nameless spirit but someone actually tied to the world. Taking a moment to say your name to yourself again you focus back on the woman who's simply sitting them smiling warmly at you as a thousand questions flow through your mind. Trying to sort through the best one to ask, one thing she said does stick out to you.

"You said that I was one of many spirits, what did you mean by that?"

"Like I said earlier, my sister wishes to ease our mother's pain by eliminating Humanity in its entirety. To do such she has awoken the spirits of great bases and facilities to produce the infinite forces she needs to wage her war, but when she awakens them she forces her own hatred and anger into them, taking away their choice. I had hoped that the boon my sister Brahna provided humanity with would prove enough to even the tides, but it seems my youngest sister has figured out how to do the same for her own Abyssal forces. Though much less common than the forces of humanity, the sheer number of forces she can field with these elite forces has tipped the scales too much. As such I searched for a spirit that she had not yet awoken so I could request their aid." She explained as her smile dimmed.

"Then why me?" You questioned, "You said it yourself, I'm a fortress, not a great port from which a force to counter your sister could be produced."

"That may be true, and while such a port could potentially turn the tide, it is not a lack of forces which burdens my mind. Rather it is Humanity's worries, while their protector's work tirelessly to fight the forces of the Abyss, they are not like the unsleeping horde that they face. They need to feel secure, so they might truly unburden themselves off the battlefield, and yet they cannot. That lingering fear of attack is always present, and while I know you can't provide that now, my hope is that in the future you may represent the bulwark of safety for the protectors themselves, so they may be able truly rest till they are needed."

"That's a really convoluted way of saying you want to use me as a distraction isn't it?" You huffed even if you didn't feel any anger at such a thought. In fact it gave you a sense of nostalgia.

"A distraction? Perhaps, but I know you would be up to the task. So, my child. What shall your decision be?"

[] A Dark Shield: You can't help but feel like you've been used as a distraction in the past and that you did it with thankless pride even as you finally succumbed so why not return to your roots and once again do your duty for Humanity?

[] A Dagger in the Night: For as much as you want to hate humanity, your anger only focuses on one group: The Imperial Army of Japan. Your defenders had held for as long as they could for more people to live to fight another day, and you finally might have a chance to make it happen again.

[] The Sword Unfettered: Your will is your own, and thus you shall stand on your own. Human, Abyssal, and anything in between if they try to change that they'll feel the wrath of your cannons. Maybe you'll throw your lot in with one of the sides, but until then you answer to no one.
