Hello. Sorry for not showing up yesterday. I won't be able to update for a bit. But I will try later when I am free.

Sorry....
No worries it's only understandable that you have a life outside of this.
And if we as internet rando's give you a hard time over something like this then that is our fault.

Besides you are already writing at an enormously fast pace, so you have plenty to be proud of.

I'm back. And...

Voting time will be over soon. You can change or make your votes on this duration.

She quickly decided to evolve one of her Job Cards, dismissing all the cards within her mindscape. Then she focuses, looking at the card that now changes into another image.

The girl on the picture now have a leaner armor that seems to hug her figure. Her face is shown along with her beautiful long blonde hair and her elvish ears, with her eyes the only thing covered by a metallic eye mask, a slit on this mask being the only way for her to see. She holds a bully shield on her right and a rather large pike or lance on her left.

After looking at the image of that elf, she then put her attention back to the real world. Glancing at her and thinking of what to do next.

'Right. I have these cards within me. I shouldn't just rely on her as always!' With that thought in mind, she glances through the cards floating within her mindscape, and reach out with her imaginary hand, grasping the card that shows of a circular portal showing a different place than the one on it's background.

A sudden instinctive feeling of choice was felt within her guts, and thinking this might be a way of her powers to convey where she can put it, she thought of her basement and willed it to activate there.

Suddenly, the space in front of her slowly turns hazy, and then waves around like a mirage. The space slowly acquiring a new image, showing off the familiar scenery of her basement in a translucent manner, and then slowly solidifying it's image. It only took five seconds before a circular image of the basement can be seen floating an inch above the floor in front of her.

Taylor is thinking of passing through the portal, when she was stopped by Natalie with a tug of her clothes.

"Taylor. Let me try it first." She said, and without waiting for her prompt, the girl suddenly walks straight to the mirror-like image of her basement. When Natalie passes through, the image of this portal ripples for a brief moment, before becoming still and clear once more.

Taylor can see her summon on the other side of the portal, and the girl seems to be looking at her hands, before nodding and then looking at her. She seems to be saying something, though it seems like she can't hear it.

Then Natalie walks back, passing through the portal once more. "It is safe." Natalie said, making Taylor feel a bit relieved.

She actually wanted to tell Natalie to not do something like that without thinking about her own safety, but she decided to just let her. The girl seems pretty loyal to her, that she will move without even her prompt just to see if something is safe.

Now that she learned that the portal is two-way, the problem of getting to her base and back to her home has been solved.

"... Wait..." Then realization comes to her mind. "What if Dad sees the portal!?" She said with a bit of panic on her tone.

She glances at the magical girl who is staring at her and seems to be waiting for her. Though she felt very reluctant to do this, it seems like it can't be helped at all.

"Uhmm... so, Natalie. Sorry, but I have another favor to ask..."

After Natalie managing to learn another spell which she uses to create a spell for perception filter and human repeller, she finally managed to become a bit relaxed.

Now she is on her home, sitting on the couch and just waiting for her Dad. Though she really don't know what to do next after this.

Her eyes turned to the TV that was currently open, and then on the person besides her. Natalie is currently watching the TV with a lot of interest. Her eyes pointed at it and she seems so focus right now on the cartoons.

Taylor didn't thought there are still cartoons on this time, though that might be because she haven't watched TV that much. She really don't know. Anyway, the girl seems to like watching it, so she won't complain.

Taylor actually felt a bit guilty just relying on Natalie, so she asks her if she wanted anything. The girl only pointed on the TV, and then asks for that ham sandwich once more, which seems she favored now when she tasted it this morning.

So now they are like this, with Taylor not that interested watching another cartoon about some hero from some other city, and making sure to take note of truck engine sounds on the outside so she can asks Natalie to hide her presence. While Natalie her is looking intently on the TV, and then eating the remaining sandwich that Taylor made with the leftover ham on the fridge.

"Uh. Are you sure this is what you want?" Taylor still felt this is a bit small for requests. She is thinking of something, like say asking for toys, or maybe looking for some people she might want to talk other than her. 'That's how kids are, right?' She thought, though not really knowing much as she tends to forget most of her childhood when she got to highschool.

Natalie just nodded at her, looking at her with a small smile on her face. "Yes, I'm... satisfied with this!" She said, her words still sounding unsure, but looking relaxed and comfortable now.

Taylor stares at her, before smiling for a bit. Seeing that honesty on the girl's eyes makes her a bit happy on the inside too. She doesn't know why.

She thinks the girl might find something interesting in the future, much more than just watching TV and eating sandwiches. Though for now, she thinks she needs to be satisfied with this. She will just think of a proper reward for the magical girl when she knows more about this world.

The night has come and when her Dad comes, Natalie has used her magic to turn herself invisible once more. Now in her room, she is lying on the bed and thinking what to do next when she heard the sounds of shuffling cards once more.

All the cards are familiar, which means nothing new is being shown right now. There is the Potion, Sleep, Pit Hole, Treasure Chest, and Buffet Table.

She decided to pick something while planning on her next actions...

Sorry about this short update. I am actually planning to add something very long on this update, but when I came back to writing this, I ended up blanking out. So this one is pretty small.

I hope I can make something longer next time...

Okay, not too sure on the next action... But I definitely know that I'm likely going to be pushing for actually summoning at least the Wolf Queen in the morning. So we can start getting Taylor and her Summons actually out there and doing Heroic stuff.

I think summoning the Shield maiden and having her become a PR contact point for our cape team would be a good idea. EDIT: After this turn of course.

[X]Write-In
-[X] Teach Natalie about cape culture. And go over basic action plans. Like what to do if someone gets attacked, what to do in the event of a kidnapping and what to do if she gets lost.

Damn it. I should had word it different. What I wanted to say was, that the portal should had open between the basement and the base. In the future I just need to be more carefull with the words.
Also QM. Can we summon one card and evole another card in the same turn.

Actually no.

You can't evolve a card if you are summoning one.
Thank you. I want to test and train, our summons units, before we go out in the field. Although our summons are like a newborn baby, they had a lots of power, especially Natalie. All that power won't do her any good, if she dosen't know how to use it. That's why I want to do some test and traning first.

Do we have a druid? If so maybe we can make the abandon part of the docks looking a lot more nice and drive out a small part of junkies. Make a garden or a castle or something just for looks.

Let's get some events going and maybe mess with people.

If we are going to evict anyone, we should evict the Nazi's. Junkies may be uncomfortable and sometimes dangerous to be around, but it's mostly people down on their luck.

She once again dismissed all the cards and decided to evolve one of the cards she is holding. Specifically the one that is a fully armored elf with her head bared except her eyes. She chose one of the instinctive choices she is feeling, and let it change the image of her card.

The image of the card changes a bit barely. The girl in a different pose now, and the only difference on her is her outfit, which seems to be a rather stylish armor that hugs her figure. Some shields seems to float around her, and she is carrying a spear in a relaxed manner. The image of the girl on the card seems to exude a feeling of reliability on it despite her eyes being obscured by that metallic eye mask she is wearing.

Taylor stared at the image for a bit more, before deciding to finally stop it as she felt the drowsiness getting to her. She looks toy he side, feeling the connection she have with Natalie pointing somewhere on the ceiling. 'So she might be sleeping there.' She thought, feeling a bit curious what it feels to sleep while floating like a ghost.

She finally decided to sleep, turning to her side and closing her eyes as she tucked herself more with her blanket.

It seems like she have to postpone some of her plans, as her Dad seems to have taken some off days to spend some time with her. Well, it is currently New Year's Eve, and tomorrow the year will change, so it will be weird if he just decided to work still.

Though it is awkward, because despite hearing what he said, he is just awkwardly sitting on the couch and watching the TV, or sometimes looking at the newspaper laid on the table. Taylor on the dining room just done eating her meal, and is trying to think of a way to sneak up some food for Natalie.

She can feel Natalie's presence besides her, so she knows what is happening. Though Taylor can't gauge what she is feeling right now. Maybe the girl is hungry now.

".... What do you want to eat?" She muttered under her breathe, hoping for Natalie to hear it.

".... Ham.... Sandwich...." A fleeting voice that can easily be ignored without focusing on it was heard directly on her ears, making her perk up for a bit, before deciding to do just that.

Taylor stood up, before quickly moving to the fridge to take some slice of ham in there. It seems like there are some left. "Dad, I'll be eating some sandwich on my room." She said, trying to pass it off casually.

Her Dad seems to have perked up, as if surprised at suddenly being called out, before he looks at her direction. Looking at her with his mouth half open, then looking at her with a troubled expression, but still nodding. "A-ah... yes. Okay." Her Dad said while looking at her with an indeterminate look.

She really can't understand. Maybe it looks awkward, but at the same time he seems to be looking a bit complicated. Like he wanted to talk to her or something.

She can feel the awkwardness and now she is feeling uncomfortable. So she decided to quicken her pace, taking care to create three sandwiches before quickly putting it on a plate and going upstairs, straight to her room. The both of them not speaking that much, and she can feel his gaze trailing her figure until she got to the stairs.

She have decided to distract herself for this whole day by reading the book about Natalie. Opening it once more while she can hear Natalie eating besides her in silence.

Quickly she stops at the page that details her Summoning capability. She seems capable of calling upon the forces of darkness, whatever that means. Just by the name alone, she felt very reluctant to even try it.

So instead, she decided to just read the section carefully. There is a lot actually. It easily covers a few hundreds of pages. It details about what she can summon, and what these summons are.

The explanation of the ability itself is also pretty vague, or maybe a bit incredible if she wanted to try to think about it literally. The brief description of the ability is like this.

[Minion Summoning (Darkness)]

This is the ability of the Ultimate Magical Girl of Darkness to summon minions from the Dark Realm. The Dark Realm is the personal domain of those who wields and rules over darkness.

Within it inhabits the forces of darkness. Beings who are made of everything and everyone's darkness. Negative, painful, scary, and anything that can be considered the opposite version of positive and helpful are formed within it. These creatures can be molded by the one summoning them, turning them into a defined form that embodies what they represent through darkness.

The summoning can be done everywhere so long as the Ultimate Magical Girl wills it. They can be intelligent, bestial, or something anomalous in nature. A creature, an environment, a phenomena, anything is considered just a minion that can be formed with this ability.

That's the basic information. Below are more explanation that clearly details what every of it means. Like how literally anything created by it are sentient, or semi-sentient and can think enough that they can obey the orders of their summoner. That darkness literally considered anything negative as part of it.

Basic cartoon villain stuffs that has been explained in extreme detail that she can't get confused about it even if she wanted to. Though the detailed explanation alone is very long, so she might forget some of the details, which might cause her to come back to that passage just to read it again.

Good thing she can memorize a good portion of what she is reading. Might be one of her skills as someone who likes to read books.

As to why she is looking through this section, it is simple. If she is truly planning to go out and do some crime fighting, then she needs to train. Or more specifically, she needs Natalie to at least train until she is sure the girl is ready and won't get hurt.

Taylor felt that it is a bit disgusting, letting others do what she wanted. Putting them in danger just for the self-satisfaction of saving some stranger she doesn't even know. Though she have powers, albeit something that involves summoning people through the cards that only exists within her imagination, but it is still a power that she bears.

It felt like wasting it if she is just going to ignore things and continue her boring, and rather tiring life.

'... Okay, that thought is rather depressing.' She thought to herself, before shaking her head. 'I shouldn't think of my life as tiring. I think it is still worth living for... I think?' She tried to reason to herself.

Though she can't really lie to herself. Since learning about her powers, she has become rather focused on it, and what she can do with it, despite feeling a bit nervous at taking care of her summons. She knows she will have to summon soon. She is just thinking about the appropriate place for it.

It helps her forget about her own problems and immerse herself in her powers. Occasionally gazing at her metaphysical cards that only exists within her mind, or imagining some incredible things whenever she thought of going out and trying to be a hero.

She might have a small anticipation of being seen favorably by the public if she does so, though the greatest reason why she wanted to do so must be because it has been a sort of dream to her. It's just that. No reason to be rich, or becoming famous by the TV screen. She just wanted to be a hero because she aspired to be one, a childish one that she mostly dismissed, but it is still the major part of her reason.

'Okay, let's stop thinking about that, and look at this summoning thing!' She thought, deciding to focus more on the book.

She skims through the creatures. It seems like the Dark Realm have some templates for their creatures. Though Natalie seems capable of creating a brand new creature through the Dark Realm, it seems like it will be easier pulling through these templates and manifesting them on this world.

Within the templates, she managed to find at least three that she thinks will be good as sparring partners for Natalie.

There is the Dark Side. A creature of the Dark Realm that seems to be a perfect copy of the one they are based on. Like say the base is a known hero, then the Dark Side will be summoned with the image of that hero. Though it seems like the Dark Side are a lot more spiteful and malicious than their counterpart.

Another is a Dark Grunt. Some sort of humanoid creature made of darkness, and they are more stronger than an average person. They are extremely durable against conventional weapons, though it seems like they are weak to any holy related objects or abilities, and are susceptible to any types of esoteric forces like magic.

The last one is called as the Hall of Delusions. Something about a sentient area capable of moving around. The area can create illusions that is indistinguishable to reality. It seems like depending on their victim's belief, the illusions have the possibility to become real.

The others are very dangerous. There is one called as the Dark General, though it seems like they are some sort of beings that are almost comparable to their summoner. Inheriting one or more of her ability, and are mostly right hand man for that summoner.

'I think that will be a bad idea.' She thought, not wanting Natalie to summon someone who can do the same thing as her.

She won't have to think the same about the Dark Side, because it seems like a Dark Side can't copy their summoner, and even if they were based on the summoner, they will be a mere imitation that can't even reach a fraction of the summoner's capability.

Despite being perfect copies, they are more inferior than their counterpart. So they can be easily defeated by the original, if the original is willing to go lethal.

That's how she reads the details anyway. So she thinks Natalie will be safe. She is the one who will be using the power, so it will be confusing if she is not safe to her own powers.

Now the question is, who to use. Also, if she is going to test her. What she should do about it?

Her Dad will be here until New Year. She can't just leave for a long time without causing him to be suspicious, mostly because of the occasion. Though she really didn't know if she can talk to her Dad. Maybe some exchange of words, but a full conversation seems impossible right now without it turning awkward.

"Taylor. I am done eating." She heard Natalie announcing it. Making her glance at her for a bit. The magical girl only tilting her head as Taylor contemplates what to do next.

As she is thinking about it, she heard the shuffling of cards once more. Deciding to look into it, she sees that other than the usual three cards, the four cards are the familiar Pit Hole, Freeze, Day/Night Skip, and Black Hole.

The only unique card is one that shows off three cards aligned to each other.

She decided to pick something, while also making up her mind what to do with her plans for the remaining days of her break.

So the story might have unnecessarily become too long with a lot of infodumps. I'm so sorry for that....

If we're evolving rather than Summoning, I'd like it to be this. That said... @Levelgap why do we need to lie to Danny during the day time? Just say we're 'going out' and that'll... probably be enough to get some time. Does mean we can't take advantage of the Portal to the base in the house's basement however, unless we sneak back in somehow (can Natalie do a silent teleport and bring us along?) to get to it.

Or is this happening at night time because we spent the day reading, and we can't go out at night because it's New Year's Eve?

Well... Uh, I don't know how to word it properly. I wanted to convey that Taylor will try and leave the house (through portal if possible) without raising Danny's suspicion. Though he will be curious where will she go if she just disappear like that, so she have to talk to him about leaving without mentioning anything about her powers or her base.

We have too many good options, I really like both the Shield Saintess and the Einherjar, and hopefully we can do an Einherjar sometime because it really looks like a properly built one would be a super good melee follower. Also, come to think of it, we should probably look in to getting a food supply at our base soon because we're probably going to need to start housing people at our base soon. I know someone wanted to do a druid like individual next, so that might solve that problem? Our elf might be able to do it, but I don't want to gamble on basic magic and knowledge of nature being enough to feed everyone.

We're also not under any major time pressure that we know of yet, so I don't see a need to start lying to Taylor's father or otherwise putting social pressure into the relationship.

I would like to see if I can talk people into going for only a rare job or maybe a super rare job drop soon though, instead of going all the way to the end. A Curse Bearer or Grand Witch follower would be really useful to have before Taylor goes back to school, because a few curses on her school items could make bullying Taylor and stealing her stuff really... well, a cursed experience, if you get my drift? Natalie would probably be able to do the same, granted, but getting a specialist might not be a bad idea. Once things get going we're probably going to have a lot of other stuff for Natalie to do, and Levelgap has indicated there's going to probably be reasons it'll be useful to have weaker but more followers in the past so...

Okay, but she could say she wants to go to the local library or something, right? Just need to swing by, grab a book first (and maybe a few for Natalie?) and then go to the base. Or are we running with the idea that BB doesn't have any useful local libraries like that? Any Americans want to chip in? Because I have no idea what libraries are like over there and I'm not sure you are one Levelgap?

... While we're at it, is it possible for Natalie to do a short range concealed teleport from outside the house (preferably in a hidden area nearby) to the basement or maybe phasing Taylor as well so they can either invisibly sneak back through the house or actually phase through the walls to sneak down there after leaving? I know that Natalie doesn't currently have a power for that, but it sounds like she basically needs to put some thought into it and she may very well develop a spell or ability to do that. Shadow travel if we're stacking to a 'Darkness' theme?
