Can't we just have Natalie astralize it? I don't see the point in destroying our new reference document.

Astralize? Throw it into space for astronomers to find?
It's what going invisible was called?
"Okay. You can use that invisibility power you told me." Taylor finally said, looking at her with a bit of trust.

The girl nodded, before muttering something that Taylor can't understand other than the last part.

"■■⬤ [Astralize]"
We can just ghost-book it and it's not like anyone else will get a hold of it any time soon.

And assuming Taylor will remember everything without flaw after one single read, a long read about a complicated subject, seems... well, unlikely given my experiences with human memory.

On another note, is there any way I can talk people into changing to Lancer instead of Guardian? As an elf it seems like an agility build would be more suited to her, and Lancer feels more likely to end up combo-ing with the magic access and nature affinity then a full armor class does to me.

Taylor is currently walking on the seedier parts of the town. Looking around for a bit with a cautious look, before proceeding more to the place where a lot of abandoned warehouses are located.

The Docks, the side of this city where Taylor's home also resides, is one of the poorer regions here. Being a steep decline with a lot of infrastructures not being maintained. So it is not surprising to find a lot of abandoned warehouses.

She just have to make sure not to encounter any of the dangerous people here. This part of this region is well-known for a lot of criminal activity after all, and anyone who lives here knows to always avoid this place.

Though this is also the reason she is going here, because there are only a few people walking around this place. Which means she can use one of the abandoned warehouses here to train Natalie's power.

Speaking of Natalie...

"You still there?" She muttered to no one, her head still lowered and hidden beneath the hood of her hoodie.

"... Yes...." She heard the whispering tone of her summon. She seems to be pretty near on her face, and if she have to guess, might be floating besides her.

She always wanted to make sure because she can't feel her at all. Natalie is in her astral form, so she sometimes felt a bit lost and doubtful whether Natalie is keeping up with her or not.

"Stick closer to me." She said, wincing for a bit as she did so. She have said that for the fifth time now, and she can't even help herself because she is just that worried that Natalie might suddenly not be on her side. 'Is this how it feels guiding an invisible person?' She mused to herself.

Then her mind slowly wanders to the new card that she have. Specifically, the Job Card that she evolves into a Guardian. The appearance of a card changing into that of a full armored warrior carrying a rather large shield that covers her whole figure. The armor she is wearing hiding her gender completely, and she might be mistaken as a male with the look alone.

That's actually an impressive looking image. She can feel the reliability through the image alone, and how she might look intimidating with that stare beneath that helmet that have a Y-slit for, what she thinks, might be for seeing and breathing.

She stops focusing on her card again, taking a moment to look around her surroundings once more, and seeing that no one is looking on her way, she decided to stop and then go inside one of the abandoned warehouse that wasn't locked. She at least remember this one. Being a warehouse that is decently built, but is just abandoned and messy on the inside. She thinks there is a wide space in there that are only filled with dust and some cracks on the floor.

"Okay, let's go inside here." She said, opening the door and hearing the loud creaking sound of the hinges, making her flinch for a bit before looking inside. There is no one there, so while not noticing the heave of sigh of relief that she made, she entered the place.

Looking around, she can see within the lights passing through the large windows above this warehouse that the place is still decent. The walls blocks most areas where people can peek through, and that large empty space is still there. There are barely any debris. The only smell is that of a stale one, with some dust floating around.

She takes the bag out of her back, and then put it on top of the dusty table on the side of the concrete pillar that is slightly cracked. Opening her bag and then taking the large, encyclopedic book before opening it for a bit.

"Okay, you can come out now." Taylor said, which Natalie immediately obeyed by suddenly popping up on the air. Landing on the ground without any difficulty.

Taylor gazes at the book, reading some of the passages about what can Natalie do. There is a section of the book that says Natalie can create her own magic through her own well of magical power. It also seems like conceptual darkness, the abyss, or the void will give her insights to create more powerful magic, though she can't understand that part.

She also have the capability to create potions, wards, curses, magical items, summoning, etc. It's a lot really.

She is just wondering what to test now using this place as a testing ground, when she heard another shuffling of the cards. Seeing the usual three Job Cards, and then three familiar Consumable Cards which are the Invisibility, Swap Position, and Reveal Info. Though the other two are new.

One of the card shows an image of a black hole. The other card shows an image of a black stickman with a blue stickman, and the both of them seems to have the same posture.

She quickly decided what to do next with this options.

Set things up so that the Summons' Base is more of a, well, base. For cards, restocking the Reveal Info we used up so we've got at least one and I prefer Guardian Mage over Rook Knight because it's a specific evolution of Guardian.

I'm a bit ambivalent with how reluctant we are about destroying the book. It seems like a good way to tell potential rivals about our one great weakness.
I think that we should have Natalie create a Safe-room with a self destruct feature or something to prevent Shard-scrying and the like before casting that spell on ourselves.

'Reveal Info is a really valuable card. I think I will take that.' She thought to herself, focusing her attention and stretching her imaginary grasps to grab that Consumable Card, while ignoring the others.

Then she chose one of the instinctive options she can choose with the Guardian card, causing it to light up before changing. The image now showing a full armored warrior, their armor being a bit leaner than the one they are wearing on the earlier card. An elaborately decorated spear clutched on her hand, and another carrying a shield 3/4 of her height. Her visage is a bit androgynous, even with her long blonde hair flowing freely below her helmet behind her.

She gazes at that card for a moment, before immediately turning her attention back to the real world, looking at the book and some of it's passages, before looking at Natalie.

"Okay, so it seems like based on this book, you can create some sort of warding to protect an area. Do you think you can use some magic so no strangers will look at this place?" She asks the girl, not really wanting to demand anything at her.

Natalie thinks about it for a bit. "Uhmm... I don't know... I'll try." She said, before closing her eyes. Feeling the air becoming heavy once more as the magical girl focuses within herself.

Taylor decided to let her be for now, deciding to take a seat on the dusty table. Patting off the dust out of the table first before she did so. While waiting for Natalie the right spells within her, she passes the time reading her books.

After awhile, the oppressive air around the place slowly calms down, causing Taylor to perk up after reading further on the warding that Natalie can do. The magical girl opening her eyes before looking at her, and then nodding.

"Taylor, I know how to make wards now." She told her quietly, though there is a hint of anticipation and pride beneath her tone.

Taylor looks at that gaze at her that seems to shine in anticipation, before smiling. "Okay. That's great. Can you do that to this whole warehouse? Make it so no strangers can come here, even by accident?" Seeing her nod, Taylor continues. "Okay. Then please do so."

The girl nodded, before immediately changing into her Magical Girl Form. Then Natalie speaks those mysterious chant once more, which still sounds like a fast forwarded gibberish with some backward words on it her ears.

"■⬤⬤⬤■■⬤■■■⬤■■⬤⬤■ [Stranger Denying Field]"

The spell has been casted, before Taylor blinks for a bit, seeing an illusion of some colorful wisps of lights surrounding the whole area, and then vanishing. Despite the place not changing, she don't know but feel that the place felt a bit strange somehow.

"Ma... Taylor, I am done. The warding spell has been casted successfully." She said after opening her eyes, and then turning her attention back to her Master.

Taylor is a bit dazed, still feeling some colorful wisps of light floating around the place, before rubbing her eyes with one hand and then shaking her head. Then she put her focus on Natalie, then smiling at her with a nod.

"Great. So no one will be able to get here other than us?" The girl nodded, which makes Taylor sigh in relief. Now she won't have to worry about some stranger getting to this place. "Now, time to think how to take care of this place."

After she says that, Natalie perks up before immediately calling out to her. "Taylor... I think I can try and see if I can do something about it?" She suggested, causing Taylor to blink her eyes for a bit, before smiling wryly.

"Okay... sure..." She said, feeling a bit shy. She just noticed but it seems like she has been relying on the girl's magic. Though she can't do anything other than rely on her anyway.

It took until afternoon before the place looks rather different than when they first arrived here. Now it looks cozy, with all the walls, floors, and ceilings fixed and clean like they were brand new. The electricity working, along with the water running. There are furnitures which seems to have been broken awhile ago, that have been fixed too by Natalie's magic.

'As expected of magic....' She still felt a bit dubious calling the powers of the girl as magic, though she is trying to get used to it as that is what the book said her powers was.

Thanks to Natalie, she won't even have to think of methods to think of making this place livable. This place have it's own couch, TV, and computer to the side. Some drawers and cabinets, and some rooms for bathing and cooking. It's like this place is made to live-in. There are also some empty rooms here which have bunk beds, further proving that this place might be some sort of working area which includes being a live-in here.

"Anyway, it's afternoon now. So I think we should go back home." Taylor muttered to herself, thinking what to do after this.

She now have a base where she can test the powers of her summon, and some of her cards if she can. Though there is still the issue of walking to this place from her house. This place needs a twenty minute bus ride, and then another five minutes of walking before arriving here.

It might be her being paranoid, but she didn't want anyone putting things together due to her leaving and then coming back to this place. She don't know much how Capes operate on this city, though she thinks some Gangs might be able to track her if she somehow made a name for herself.

As she is thinking about that, she heard the shuffling of cards once more, her eyes widening for a bit before immediately focusing her senses within. Along with the three usual cards, there are also the four familiar ones which are two Fireball cards, Chain Break, and then Perfect Accuracy.

The only new card in there is one that shows an image of water looming over the screen. Along with it is the feeling of choices on the Job Cards she is holding.

She picks something once more, while deciding on something for this day on.

Sorry for the short update. I can't think of anything to add there.

Do we want to use Portal or not? As I believe that's a permanent portal right? Also, it doesn't say if the portal is two way or not. So we might want to make the Portal from home to here just in case. If it is two way, no problem. If it isn't, then we've got the harder side of things solved.

I want a permanent portal. We should really start thinking about rewarding Natalie after this.

[X] Actually, you shouldn't rely on her too much and do something about it yourself.
-[X] By using a card within your deck
--[X] Ask Natalie if she still has some energy left for another keeping ward for hiding stuff. Your room and the base, try to direct it somewhere out of sight of a window, like inside of a closet. And ask Natalie to hide the portal with a ward to hide the portal.

It's a good idea for Taylor not always rely too much on hers summons, and it too ealy for Natalie to try space/time magic. At least wait till she had master the basic magis first.

I also got two ideas for Natalie magic. One for a ward's spells and another for a combat spells. The ward's spells is like a anti-thinker ward, that givs thinkers fake info, becuase in the worm's fanfics I had read a anti-thinker power/skill always zero info, and they always find a aroung it. But if they are giving fake info from they power, they will had believe that's info is true, because they thinker power is the thing 100% can trust.
For the combat spells. The idea's is to move the us and the opponents to a pocket dimension, in case of if we end up figthing Lund. That way we can go all out, and not worry about other people getting hurt or property damage, because it only us and the opponents in that place.

--[X] Use the portal card and make it in the basement.
---[X] Ask Natalie if she still has some energy left for another keeping ward for hiding stuff. Your room and the base, try to direct it somewhere out of sight of a window, like inside of a closet. And ask Natalie to hide the portal with a ward to hide the portal.
----[X] See if you can spoil Natalie after this, she has had a busy day after all and deserves a reward.
