This is correct. If you choose not to take elements of your creator's identity you'll be able to select from a greater variety of options to fill the open slots. Different individuals and groups will react in different ways to whether or not you inherit things from your progenitor.

Edit: To be clear, whether or not you qualify as a different person from them is entirely at your discretion, though that's not what this vote necessarily means.

    I just realized that I misremembered the winner for the "forgiving McGonagall" vote and wrote the outcome for "accept her apology blithely" instead of "accept her apology, but chastise her". Oops.
