It feels like since the test is to defeat an opponent, and there are 10 opponents, one per each student of a round, you have to defeat at least one opponent to pass.
It is very likely that the people left are people who failed to defeat one in their round and have been given another chance (with the added difficulty of being wounded and tired). But it also means that there are now more than 1 student per opponent.
It's also very likely that if we team up we will need to kill an opponent per each group member to pass.
Was Li Gai the only one of our friends to go ahead of us? Or were Guan Zhi and Gao Jin part of the other two groups after him?
