Animus Ex Nihilo - A God Quest

Can you add some Learnning actions in your Plan? I don't like the idea of Exodus, but I think we need to learn more about powers and gods if we are to even the footing with Devourer.

At this point I concern setting up a dwelling a learning action, and would prefer to save the banked point for future rainy days. Though I suppose switching out the explore action is possible, but I sorta agree with Duesal about that explorer getting close to gaining a legend.

The biggest perk Proud Waters has over the Devourer is a positive relationship with people. Following their cues and building a dwelling to house the Sea aspected powers should open up more options for growth then the Kill Cold up north has.

Personally, I hope that building a dwelling there will allow Proud Waters to have a stronger link to the Sea domain given how shitty trying to fight with only the Death magic lingering around that Frozen Island. Building a potentially more stable link to sources of power seems a better investment then potentially upgrading one of the uses of that power.

I want to point out that my Patching Up plan very pointedly doesn't have anything related to an exodus. It's centered around very necessary learning actions and upholding the deal with the Mountain. After everything Azel clarified even I'm not keen on running.

1. You are fairly certain that the power can be stored indefinitely, but you obviously haven't done much storage so far.

2. It's 2 per turn you can store. There is no limit how much you can store in total.

For power storage, how defended is it from other spirits?
Do we know how easy or hard it will be for something else to take it?

1. Currently the fish are keeping to your reef, as that is feeling familiar to them due to carrying your own essence.
2. You had zero trouble to suck the power straight out of the stray undead, so for a Sea deity, it's likely trivial. You have no idea how easy or hard it would be for others, though it's likely that the Devourer could use their Death domain as a decent substitute due to the storage medium being living things.

Thanks Azel!
This power storage looks incredibly vulnerable. I recommend that we build defenses before planning to store power long term.

(Or maybe use it as bait later?)

In the spirit of thread democracy, I would like to take this time to point out that it is not wild to believe that building a shelter in the Reef might lead to better long term power storage. The Sea People suggested a centralized granary all the way back during the settling of the Forest. The first food stores tend to be pots in homes after all.

I wholeheartedly agree with this, and I also believe that we should do this as soon as we can. We've seen first hand that Places of Power are a bit like D&D divine realms in that you really don't have a good chance of killing a god in their own realm, so fortifying ours seems very prudent regardless of the power storage aspect.

I'm a bit hopeful it can amplify power generation as well.

Before you throw out accusations maybe take some time to actually think about things. The Harsh mountain and the sky child are their own people who can make their own decisions. So they have to agree to an exodus or we're leaving them behind. Also, even if the Harsh mountain would like to leave: He cannot. I doubt it's that easy to complete the deal Skerhogis offered him on our own.

So from his point of view it looks like you're abandoning him just after talking him out of a deal with Skerhogis, in addition to being responsible for the loss of his servant. Now that's a dick move. Also, we don't even know where the child sky is. So there's now informing or convincing him. We have to leave without him knowing about it. So we're abandoning both of our allies. We're essentially deserting after a difficult battle lost.

I'm fine with most of you other points in the plan. Though blessing the river currently means attuning it to the sea, thus undrinkable saltwater, or to death, which I suspect is undrinkable as well. I don't think that will be well received by the river people.
Not, gonna lie this response has only further solidified my belief that you either aren't reading my posts, are not reading them in their entirety, or are not carefully reading them. If you were you'd know that I'm searching out the Sky Child, am openly approaching Harsh Mountain with the idea of an exodous multiple turns before I plan to carry it out. And, am pouring everything into research so that Harsh Mountain can come with us when the time comes which I have explicitly stated to only be when Harsh Mountain is free.

...Wow, I just got to the second paragraph and you really are not reading my posts because if you were you'd know that again I am directly informing Harsh Mountain of our intent to leave along with him, the Sky Child, all our peoples, and am carrying out the research needed to do so, well funding him a new servant, with the explicit intention to not leave until he is able to come with us and on top of all that I am seeking out the Sky Child. So, literally everything you're saying here is wrong.

Also, I'm not blessing the river I'm blessing the people fishing on the rivers and lakes these are two different things.

In that case your plan is not as bad as I thought though I still believe an exodus is the wrong choice.

I am not gonna get into why I understood you differently or this may devolve into something else. However accusing others of not reading carefully can be perceived as insulting.

Pretty even so far and not that many votes, so I'll keep the vote open until tomorrow.

Why did you reply to my post?

If you want to cast a vote for the plan, you have to write it in your post outside a quote tag.

[X] Plan - This is War.
-[X] Cleanse the Blighted Lands. - 8 Power
-[X] Heal the people. - Mountains - 1 Power
-[X] Build a home in the reef. - 1 Sea Power/ Herald Action
--Focusing on the cycles of both Sea Tide and Sea Life, build an alter of Blessed Corals, Muscles, and other stationary creatures.
-[X] Explore the southern island. - 1 Power

Looks like Patching up is really close to winning and I am keen on clearing the blighted lands ASAP. I am willing to vote for this plan instead for one concession.
Would you be willing to spend the stored power and add a search for Skychild?

To me, the going to war plan goes too hard without addressing the mistakes that got us here in the first place.

If catching up wins it will determine, at least for me, whenever we stay or go. If we roll well the research will hopefully give a plan going forward. If we roll badly then we might have to consider an exodus since we don't have the time to be rolling failures.

We really need to do those learning actions before we do anything else.

Given that the Skychild has tended to find us, I think we would be fine with waiting. However, I do think that would be a worthwhile goal to use reserves for.

@Azel How would you prefer I handle editing plans? When votes are this close I don't want to split a vote, but I would feel weird ghost editing in things to a plan people already voted for.

That is ultimately for you to decide, but I've always been of the opinion that a vote for a plan is a delegate vote, so as long as you are not completely changing what it does, people most likely will be fine with minor alterations.

For dramatic changes, it would likely be better to make a new plan.

@Azel Thank you for the clarification.

@nat_401 Thanks for that sign-off. I always hesitate to spend reserves, but their purpose is to be used on a rainy day I suppose.
