Prologue

"You're not a killer." You said as you saw her load the gun with fresh ammo.

"No… But I suppose, in a roundabout way, you made me into one," as she finished, she aimed the gun at your head.

There was no one left on your side.

Your mercenaries had been bought off, assets disabled or neutralized. Contingencies thwarted.

As you stared down the barrel of the gun she pulled the trigger, and after the booming sound of the gunshot, your whole world went black.

After what felt like the longest sleep of your life, you woke up in a small dark room that smelled terribly. After straining your eyesight a bit you realized that you had been left to die in a dumpster.

Putting your hand to your forehead almost subconsciously, you paused - as not only was there no wound, but there wasn't even a scar. Was being shot some kind of dream?

[] [Memories] Coil the paranoid control freak we all know and love. Has a blueprint for success and a drive to not repeat his mistakes in this new world. Pick this for more Coil-ness, for better or worse.
[] [Memories] Blank Slate. The only thing you remember about yourself right now is how to use your reality splitting ability and a desire to use it to for personal gain. But a quick glance at the suit you're wearing makes you think you were some kind of supervillain? Pick this for more freedom.

No sense in being hyper-focused on the past, all that matters now is what you do next.

You might have nothing right now but the clothes on your back: your a black bodysuit with a white snake coiled around it, but you have an ability that if utilized correctly could make you extremely powerful.

You created a split in reality itself and saw your vision double. In one reality, you stay put in the dumpster, hiding from any potential threats. But in the other you boldly take a peek outside to see where the hell you have ended up.

Timeline A
You peer outside the dumpster and see...

[] [Timeline A] A sign for a restaurant named "Bueno Nacho".
[] [Timeline A] A Japanized Golden Gate bridge.
[] [Timeline A] A hideous purple building towering over the surrounding city.
[] [Timeline A] The historic Hollywood sign.
[] [Timeline A] A castle on top of a skyscraper.
[] [Timeline A] The Las Vegas strip.

Timeline B
If you're peeking outside in your first timeline, then in this one you're playing it safe and staying put. What to do in the meantime?

[] [Timeline B] Dig through the dumpster to see if you can find anything. (Loot Roll)
[] [Timeline B] Get out of the bodysuit.
[] [Timeline B] Write In?

Plan voting not required.

Welcome to the Snake Pit.

Step into the snake-themed bodysuit of Coil, in his grand ambition for control by acquiring people, technology, and riches for his own gain in the world of Disney Villains Victorious: Gridlocked!

If you're familiar with the setting then welcome to another quest that has chosen this setting as it's world. If you're new to the setting then I recommend checking out DoofQuest.

In short, Gridlocked is a setting that stitches together Disney content that takes place in the modern day with a twist - the villains were victorious! Doofenshmirtz proudly "rules" over
'Doofania', Glomgold is the richest duck in the world, Xanatos is a perfectly legitimate businessman, Judge Doom is preventing funny animals from causing mayhem, and more.

But none of that will matter to you for now. You have just the clothes on your back, so enjoy finding your place in this new world.

Character Sheet

Stats

Martial: ?? (You have a decently fit albeit skinny body.)

Diplomacy: ?? (You're probably going to need allies considering your memory loss...)

Stewardship: ?? (You feel like you have a grasp for managing numbers.)

Intrigue: ?? (You feel like you have a grasp for finding things or hiding them.)

Learning: 13 (You remember some basic facts of life but have no context for where or how you learned it.)

Traits

Myself On the Other Side: You have the ability to split reality in two, living out the two different paths simultaneously, choosing which of the two paths to keep, splitting reality in two again from that path. It's a widely applicable ability that is only as powerful as you are clever in your use of it.

Tabula Rasa: You are suffering from amnesia, having lost your memories of who you were, what happened to you, and why before waking up in that dumpster. You're not quite sure of what you're capable of. -9 to Diplomacy, Stewardship, and Intrigue rolls until you feel a sense of identity again or rolls where a lack of world knowledge would matter (doesn't apply twice). This will fade in time.

Status
Unhygienic: You don't have a clean set of clothes and slept in a dumpster. -10 to Diplomacy rolls.
Homeless: You need shelter and need money for food.

Items
Old San Fransokyo Ninjas Hat
Ugly Looking Fanny Pack
Professional Snake-Themed Villain Bodysuit

Mechanics
Mechanics

Actions will have a Difficulty Check or DC which must be reached for a success. A result that is double the DC or higher is a critical success. A result that is half the DC or less is a critical fail. An action that is within 10 of the DC is a bare failure / success depending on if its lower or higher. A natural die roll of 1 is a critical fail and a natural die roll of 100 causes the die to explode, rolling an additional 1d100. Anything else is either a normal failure or normal success.

The final roll result is determined by 1d100 + Relevant Stat + Relevant Traits + Other Relevant Modifiers

Omakes and XP

XP can be earned for various things such as fanart, omakes, and memes. XP can be used on a 1:1 basis to reduce DC or boost a roll by a maximum of 10, or on a 1:2 basis to reduce explosion threshold by a maximum of 10. Because we're in an early stage where literally feeding yourself is something you have to take steps to do right now, feel free to award XP to any action of yours that you wish.

Money and Information

As you are currently a homeless, penniless individual without a reliable source of news, you have problems. You need to find a way to get money to at least eat and drink on a day to day basis, and should probably look for sources of information about the current state of the world. This will be a critical component of the first arc of the quest.

EDIT: I've been convinced, lets start with a clean slate and avoid past Coil mistakes.

Friendly reminder that canon Coil is incredibly incompetent, canonically.

Let's try and go with being competent, please.

Interesting. Okay, I'll bite.

This could be fun.

I reckon all of these options have pros and cons. To translate:

  • Bueno Nacho -> Middleton, Colorado [SHEGO]
    • Pros: Supers friendly. High tech access.
    • Cons: Landlocked. Competitive environment.
  • Japanized Golden Gate bridge -> San Fransokyo, California [YOKAI]
    • Pros: All tech all the time. Melting pot with access to water and Pacific states.
    • Cons: Yakuza stranglehold on crime. Zaibatsu control on big business.
  • A hideous purple building towering over the surrounding city -> Danville/Doofania, Tri-State Area [DOOFENSHMIRTZ]
    • Pros: Relatively safe buffer area. Doof is rarely as nasty as his rivals if not provoked.
    • Cons: Less predictable environment. Possible risk of pistachion infiltrators and random musical numbers.
  • The historic Hollywood sign -> Los Angeles, California [JUDGE DOOM / MCP]
    • Pros: Little to no super crime competiton. Relatively close to Cape Suzette. Epicenter of Star VS/Amphibia Earth events.
    • Cons: Judge Doom has control on older districts and conventional crime. Modernized areas may be heavily survieled.
  • A castle on top of a skyscraper -> New York, New York [XANATOS]
    • Pros: Diverse area for magic, supers, and super science. Near the elemental locus of Heatherfield. Atlantic access.
    • Cons: Lack of magic awareness / knowledge of creatures such as gargoyles puts us at a disadvantage.
  • The Las Vegas strip -> Take a guess, Nevada [SYNDROME]
    • Pros: Chance to meet influential characters and earn a shitton of money with untracable hax foresight.
    • Cons: Crime is a revolving door due to influence of Syndrome and his adaptive omnidroids. Conventional supers are at a disadvantage.

All Pacific options have the pros and cons of being near Bill Ciper and the Air Pirates. So hey, let's go!
