Animus Ex Nihilo - A God Quest

[X] Plan Rest, and Recuperation

At this point I feel like people are protesting the idea of having undead more for "aesthetics" than for any objective reason so... x)

Looks undead creations aren't a constant power drain unless they are doing something each turn.
I actually thought our herald used power per turn. If it is 0, bonus!

The only part I would like to consider adding is search for a new spirit but that can wait till we get healing. (I really want us to find a fire/lava spirit!)

I Am also a fan of this plan as on top of aiding harsh mountain, it stores power in the sea for later.

We need to start saving power, its obviously very powerful as an ability...

This has basically everything I want, including an action to learn more about ourselves. I really want to start learning more about our nature we get sucker punched by someone who knows more about us than we do. The Devourer already blindsided us with this ritual; I'd like to hopefully develop better tools for round two.

I will point out creating undead, even animal only, might not go over well with the sea people. When a foundational part of our myth and worship is in how we protect the dead from the devourer raising said dead may make the people not trust us with their dead as much. And we know that they now have options with the Sky Child's own death rituals. Not to mention if this will help increase the likelihood of the sea people splintering again or hostility with the mountain people considering their own experience with the undead.

Plus the devourer likely has at least equal death to us if not higher. I would not put it past it to be able to attempt to subvert our undead. Or even just eat them for power.

So I will be voting for both non undead plans

Aiding the harsh mountains is a must imo. I would also like to dip into undead but not a must.

Undead don't necessarily have to be an evil thing, I don't think. Depends on how the mechanics work out but I'm hopeful for the possibility of not-evil necromancy.

Looks solid, I do think 2 dice for Bless the Bereaved might be a bit much and I would rather use those on food, but it's not enough for me to split the vote over it

A few things here.

1. The actions of said undead matter. If the undead guard the dead vs hungrily kill the living that makes a difference.
2. We've solidified ourselves as the Death God around here, we basically wiped out the rituals to the other gods by providing so much power.
3. We NEED to experiment with this power if we want any practice for facing the Devourer.

Generally i agree with the notion that we need to preserve power if we want that healing domain and we also need to try and mend relationship with the mountain.

Yes it was fully in our right to take death domain but we don't have to be antagonistic about it.

[X] Plan: Rebuild, React, and Reflect
-[X] Bless the plants. 1
-[X] Bless the fishers. 1 + Herald
-[X] Bless the Travelling People. 1
-[X] Heal the people. 1
-[X] Bless the bereaved. 2
-[X] Find the Devourers servants. 1
-[X] Try to learn more about the nature of your power. 1

2 dice on Blessing the Bereaved is sheer overkill. We already heavily reinforced that last turn to the point of dominating the death rites of our people. If we're really focused on helping people then it should go for all 3 food security actions, to alleviate the recent famine.

This is an especially good concern. We really, really need to shore up food securities. Hopefully blessing the goats and the plants will work in our favor here. @Azel, I take it we've outgrown blessing the fish? Is there a limit to how much animals can be blessed tied to how powerful we are?

Also I have a question about mechanics in general. We clearly deal with tunnel vision as a spirit. Whenever we actively focus on a task, like taking the burial pits or hunting the devourer, we miss an entire turn of looking after the people, or at least we get a clear indication that we've been neglecting them. Is imbuing shrines and instructing our herald the only automatic task setting method we have?
